My fluid is burning way too quickly

Hey guys, great forum! I've been searching through, trying to figure out what my issue is; the problem is, everyone has different models so it's extremely hard to pinpoint... So be prepared for a long post (I'm so sorry >.<)

Anyway. Me and my girlfriend both decided to quit smoking, and try out E-Cigs. I had recently purchased one of those models that resembles a cigarette, you know, an actual E-Cig. I was really pleased with the whole cartomizer thing, but to get the girly to quit, we both purchased a vape pen together. We both got one of those mini E-Go kits, you know? I would post the brand but every time I see someone else doing it, they get censored, so we'll keep it at "mini EGo kit". We got 'em for $18, awesome right?

Hers works like a charm. It's the perfect vape pen. The juice takes like a week before requiring refill, her coils last forever, and her battery gets charged every couple of days. But mine? The juice runs out 2 to 3 times a day, the battery dies twice a day, and I've had a lot of issues with coils.

I understand that with coils, you aren't supposed to crank down on 'em when you attach them. Lesson learned. But I still get occasional juice leaks and have to reattach the coil, hell sometimes the thing knocks itself loose. I know what you're thinking: the answer is "no" I do indeed take care of my vape pen, I never drop it or anything.

But what's bugging me is the fact that I am burning through juice quick! And it's not like I get to chain-vape whenever I want, I do have my other E-Cig model so I switch back and forth. But the vape pen seems so faulty. I keep taking it in to get it checked out and they always seem to have solved the issue, but only temporarily.

I do notice though, that my battery gets hot pretty quick. After a 3rd drag, that battery needs a cool-off. And when the vapor hits my mouth, it's super flavorful (as if it's spitting juice into my mouth slightly) and the vapor is pretty hot; I get scared to inhale it. So what do I do, what's the problem? I'm losing more money on juice than I was when I was smoking >.<

Additional info: I usually fill my vape pen with 0 nicotine or sometimes 0.8 mg nicotine (trying to quit), use fruity flavors, and I try to keep my vape pen pretty clean (constantly wiping it off whenever I have to unscrew anything) I let the battery cool off when it's finished charging before usage.

sounds like a crap battery. Without a brand i can't tell you for sure but most ego style's are protected batteries that should keep them from behaving like the symptoms you describe. No protected battery should ever get "hot" from charging or discharging. The process does create heat, but when it happens the way its supposed to it should be barely noticable.

There's only two ways your liquid is disappearing: Either it's leaking out or you are vaping it. Since you didn't mention anything about leaking...

You can post the product name and a link to it here. You can't do that if you are a supplier.

We also don't know what size clearo you have. Refilling a mini 1.6 ml clear 3 times in one day is pretty much nothing for most people.

From what you are describing of the device getting hot you could just have a low resistance coil in there, perhaps lower resistance than you want it to be. Try a replacement device. (Is it a clearo?) Low resistance would also be the reason for your concern about the vapor being too hot.

Good stuff from everyone posting above. I agree about the battery, getting hot after 3 hits?! That thing needs to be thrown away. Perhaps take it back where you bought it and tell them it's faulty and switch it out.

From your post it's very obvious your pretty new to all this. There are many variables that could be involved with your problems. Without all the specifics involved in your set up we can only guess at what might be causing your problem. Just keep with it and keep reading, researching and watching youtube videos. There is so much to learn and I'm sure after a while you will find yourself having less and less problems as your knowledge base grows.

Try to find a good B&M (brick and mortar store) around you and get to know some people maybe they can steer you in a better direction or help you learn.

Good luck!

Well alright, I'm no supplier... it's from Avail Vapor: AVAIL Vapor - Mini Ego Kit
As you guys can see, it has good reviews all around. Like ZombieJuice said, I'm totally new to this to be honest. I've got the E-Cig down, but the whole vape pen thing is so new to me. My coil resistance is 1.8 ohm. I don't even know what that is to be honest...
As for clearo... I can't exactly answer that question...

1.8ohm would only overheat from my experience if you take 3 10 second drags at 4.8v, even then by the way you made it sound you're either smoking very high pg mixes at a very high voltage, or you have a leak (most people don't notice, I've had it happen before where i see 2ml of e-liquid and 5 mins later it's empty. I go through 5ml a day at most . Most probably you have a defective battery or your voltage is set too high.

ANOTHER THING, you might be leaving your battery on when it's in your pocket, if this is true, you might be un-intentionally pressing teh buttons which activates the coil and burns your juice without you knowing. Far-fetched but could genuinely be the cause.

You definitely have a bad battery. Send it back and get another one. The vendor should at least have a 30 day warranty, most have 90 day warranties.

These batteries are made in China in mass quantities. Since tens of thousands are produced, every once in awhile a bad one will show up.
Contact them asap and see what they will do for you.

Nah, I'm always making sure the battery button doesn't get pressed by accident. I only vape with my vape pen at home, I only keep my E-Cig in my pocket which has no button. My hits definitely don't take 10 seconds, more like 4 second drags. I can't reset the voltage on my battery, it's one of those preset little batteries you know? I'm gonna take everyone's advice and take it to the store, and tell them the battery is killing my juice. I need to go to the store anyway, I've run out of juice again because of this. Thank you guys so much for all your help, I'll have the battery replaced and make sure it isn't a user-error in terms of the coil.

Thanks again forum! :toast: Keep vaping :vapor:
