For about 2 weeks I'm trying to get my Griffin to work, mind you this is my first rta. I've watched a ton of videos on youtube, googled, ... and most people seems to agree that it leaks due to wicking. I have replaced the o-rings just to make sure, but it leaks through the airflow holes. Last night I thought I had finally solved it by using less cotton, had the airflow and juice channels closed, put the rta on my desk, and this morning there was once again juice coming out of the airflow holes. And it's not just a little bit, but typically a whole mess.

So I'm honestly clueless what else I can try, it took a bunch of pictures hoping someone can point out the obvious thing I'm doing wrong:

Some extra info: I use Koh Gen Do organic cotton from geekvape and a 75/25 VG/PG juice. The build is a clapton ni core/kanthal wrap.

Really appreciate any help.

Edit: couple more pics, lower perspective

You need to cuff the cotton
Don't put too much cotton on the juice port flow just enough cotton at the same time it's not blocking the juice ports...
When filling
MAKE SURE THE AIRFLOW IS CLOSE
JUICE CONTROL IS 100% shut.

That looks to be a bit thicker than my cotton. And yes the airflow/juice control are closed when I fill it.

Is the ring down tight on the deck above the juice holes?? The smallest gap here will cause my Griff to leak..I had that problem until my brother lined me out about that ring needing to be tight against the deck..No leaks now for the past 6 weeks, vaping it everyday... :)

As tight as possible with my clumsy hands. But there is some cotton (small fibers) that get stuck under the wire. I saw some tips to leave the ring on when wicking, but on the other hand there are people on youtube who said you can leave the ring off as well. But definitely gonna give that a go and see if it changes anything.

Thanks for the advice, appreciated

yeah, I saw those same videos but it leaked like a sieve without the ring on it, and it vaped terrible too boot! Lol...I've been wicking like in the pic for awhile now, with the ring down tight with no issues at all.. absolutely the best performing RTA I have ever owned! Good luck with yours.. :)

For the next build I'm going to make sure to leave the ring on and stick my cotton into the juice channels manually. Someone pointed out on reddit that I need to make sure to tuck away the cotton from the airholes after making the coils wet. And that might actually seems to be the issue, at the inner side there is a bit of fluf that goes right into the airhole.

I wouldn't do that..it could cause dry hits sticking your tails into the juice channels... I cut the ends just long enough to fully cover the juice holes and tuck in the ends behind the ring touching the deck..if I see cotton below the ring in the juice channel its too long, and I cut it back till it barely touches the deck, behind the ring covering the juice holes completely.. Works great everytine, no leaks and no dry hits even chain vaping at 70w+.. Just my 2¢

OP, one of your coils appears to not have enough wick in it. That's certainly one problem. I see a gap between the wick and coil.

I have an Alleria coming tomorrow. The Griffin, Crius and Alleria have similar decks and wick the same. I'll do a step by step of the wicking for you.

In the meantime I can post some pics I have. I don't have the ring on my silver Griffin though. It wouldn't stay on and kept getting stuck in the chimney. The other pic is the Alleria.

Griffin:

Alleria. Reflections due to the glass make it look like there's wick outside the ring, but there isn't.
