My Magma Build w/ Rayon - Perhaps a Tutorial to Some

Trying to cool it up a bit with this build. Looking for .6-.7Ω. Previous build was 5 wraps 26g that registered .39Ω.

Went with 7 wraps 26g formed to fit Magma...

GRRR. Way off. Ok, lesson learned. 9 maybe 10 wraps next time. This'll do for now...

Wicked fairly tightly with rayon here...

Wicks trimmed on both sides and top and bottom...

I'm only providing a second shot here as I found pix like this to be somewhat deceiving when I was learning. It REALLY looks like a lot more than it is. Remember, these are macro shots. Those tails are quite thin...

As always, I wicked the tails prior to inserting them down into the wells. Here's one side...

And then the other...

All in all, a pretty good vape...

I''ll give 9-10 wraps a try in the next time but for now, I'll give this a go.

Waiting for my Magma clone with high hopes and a little dread.(E-Bay???) I've been enjoying using Rayon wicks in my IGO-L and my Kraken rba for a coulple weeks and I'm a total believer.(Thanks again JeremyR) I can't wait for that Japanese Cotton Co. to put out their Rayon equivalent!

I'll be following this to help with my fist dual coil build effort. I'd like to see a higher ohm build using 28ga Kanthal but that's just me.

Ok, although this wick is performing just fine, I think I might do it up a little differently after JeremyR posted the following image...

I think I will try something similar to this except instead of one wick coming off each side, I want to try a wick coming out of the center on each wick.

I'll post pix when I attempt it.

Hey JG, your Rayon looks just like mine but I got mine from a pharmaceutical bottle and I love it! I really believe(after watching PBusardo's vid) that there is organic cotton and there is ORGANIC COTTON! I also believe that there is hemp wick and then there is HEMP WICK! And so on. I can't wait for the JAPANESE RAYON!

Man that looks great for over a week, what juice(s) have you been using? I'm guessing a lighter color juice? I've been using the CC and most of my juices are darker and it doesn't seem to be as clean as yours. I can't wait till I get my Magma, should be in my hands by the end of the week.

That wick has mostly seen Mother's Milk with a little Sweet Menthol from a local B&M.

You mean the bends in the leads? If so, I just use a pair of needle nose pliers.

oh.. did you try the idea JeremyR posted? Ive been experimenting with wicking on the tobh.. and am seeing better performance of only having the one side dipped as well. keeps the wicking flow.. single directional...leaving the short side.. stubby and short.. and dripping on that side..feeding the coil from the exposed end..

Nice builds, beginning to wonder if these so called clones with long 510 are really the original first batch stuffup's sold cheaply to venders. Or does the genuine have long 510 too?.
For the price and workmanship these clones are hard to fault.

what size bit did you use for the coils, jax?

I have a coil winder and used an approximate 2mm mandrel. The kit came with a 1.5mm and a 3mm so I made my own out of a coat hanger.
