would you please give us links about "almost 70 years of experience with real babies "

Same as the original article, this info has been erased from the web.
Up to last year you could still find the full article online, but some time last year they have edited it and cut it so short that the original message of the "miracle substanc" is gone now.
All there's left now is this announcement from 1942: Medicine: Air Germicide - TIME
The later article of test results was only kept alive through other websites, like the link I gave you before.
At same time the other article about hospitals using it disappeared as well, why that is, you may guess yourself.

No problems with original article, nobody "erased" it:
TESTS FOR THE CHRONIC TOXICITY OF PROPYLEXE GLYCOL AND TRIETHYLENE GLYCOL ON MONKEYS AND RATS BY VAPOR INHALATION AND ORAL ADMINISTRATION
To be honest, it is rather bad piece of info for vaping. According to its results rats subjected to PG were 50% heavier than they should be. The main "result" for vapers: inhaling PG leads to obesity. Let's forget this article.
As for babies, I am afraid it is just old vaper's story, not connected to reality.

Here is one from the EPA, quite recent, from 2006
http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/reregistration/REDs/propylene_glycol_red.pdf

On page 9 it says:

Upon reviewing the available toxicity information, the Agency has concluded that there are no endpoints of concern for oral, dermal, or inhalation exposure to propylene glycol and dipropylene glycol.

Edit: Page 16, even better:

Because no toxicological endpoints were identified for propylene glycol and dipropylene glycol, the Agency has determined that exposure to it does not result in human health effects of concern. Therefore, a quantitative risk assessment was not necessary for this pesticide.

Thanks. So, we can find:

Remove cap from aerosol can and place in a sequential aerosol dispenser which 6 automatically releases a metered amount every 15 minutes. One unit should treat 6000 ft3 of closed air space. Dispenser should be located at a height of eight feet and at a point where wind flow will carry the particles throughout the area. Each spray dose is 100 mg and the median particle size is 30 microns.

...
7 ounce product contains 3400 controlled sprays that will last for 30 days when used on a 24 hour basis or 60 days if used 12 hours per day when set to dispense every 15 minutes

7 ounces = 200 ml should be sprayed in rather big room during 30 days, or 7 ml per day. It is amount equal to average juice consumption by average vaper, and it comes in rather small (0.2 ft3 compared to room - 6000 ft3) lungs. Very different things. Several magnitudes different.

Yes, PG and VG are not toxic, not dangerous when inhaled in small amounts. But we are not doing small things when vaping.

This thread attempts to address some of your questions, and it is frequently linked here because of the comprehensive discussion of "vaping related symptoms". Buried way down it suggests that vaping delivers 50% of the nic. So if you vape 50mg/day, you are ingesting 25mg. It also suggests that a typical cig actually delivers 0.8mg per cig. So if you vape 50mg/day, the cig equivalent would be 50 *0.5/0.8 = 31.25 cigs

I think I vape around 60mg/day or less (15-20ml @ 3mg). The more I study it the more I increase my volume estimate :). Because I make my own juice and switch off mods and various juice, I'm not really sure and haven't tried to track it. I probably smoked a minimum of 50 cigs/day, and at 0.8mg that would convert into 80mg of juice, or about 26ml. I don't think I vape that much, but OTOH not terribly less. I do feel far, far less "chained" to nic than I did when I was smoking. I've worked on reducing my nic level, but not the amount I vape. That might be the next step although I am experimenting with 1mg nic now.
You can't compare vaping Nic mg directly to cig Nic mg because the absorption level is different.

You're going to confuse yourself all to pieces over this, IMO & IME everyone has a slightly different absorption rate.
Every vaping set up has a different efficiency rate of delivering nicotine and so on with all the variables.

Sure you can get a rough general estimate, but, if you want to know the level in your system you'll have to use an actual test.
yes. :) But I do think it's a worthwhile survey to see the differences in total daily mg Nic we vape, tootle puffers and cloud chasers :)

I knew it. Vaping causes obesity...

I arrived at the number 48 by multiplying the number of MLs I vape per day times my Nicotine level. In my case it is 4 mls per day times 12 mg - 4 x 12 = 48. I drip on RDAs most of the time and 12mg nic is intense. That's why I only vape 4 mls per day.

I'm hoping to get 100 responses to this thread so I can create a bell curve and see where I fall on the curve and also to see what the average factor is. Thanks for participating.
24 mg/ml x 1.5 ml = 36 mg and
18 mg/ml x 1.5 ml = 27 mg
Total = 63 mg nicotine. Your "factor" has units, it's daily nicotine Vaped in mg. A lot ( half?) of that Nic is not absorbed in the body according to studies I've read and it varies with the individual.

Bump. Because I like this thread. It's interesting to see the total daily nicotine intake whether we're subohming mod whomping or tootle puffing higher Nic juice. Seems like it evens out to me... I want to total these numbers and see the average and also calculate the mean value. I play a nerd at work. ;)
State your juice nicotine level in mg, then state how many ml of juice you vape each day. Then multiply the two to get your total daily nicotine vaped per day, in mg. If you do different mg juices. Do the math for each one and total it for the day.

My nicotine factor is 45 (15ml - 3ml)

I started at 24mg. Now I'm at 15, and have ordered 12mg as 15 is getting a little to strong with my new device :) What is yours, @David Wolf ?
I posted earlier in this thread. But recently tootle puffing 24 mg unflavored or NET x 3 ml a day = 72 mg Nic vaped total each day. Sometimes I use 18 mg so the above is my highest :)
