Hey all. I have a new one for you.
Isaac recently sent me a complementary 801 atty to check out. Not having a decent DMM I am unable to discern it's resistance but it's behavior is truly bizarre. First of all let me say that I really like the flavor production, TH and vapor from this thing. The flavor is quite nice up through the low to mid 5V range.
Now the bizarre part. Every now and then I'll be vapin' away on this thing and suddenly there will be a "pop", more of a "poof" actually, and I'll get a kind of forceful puff of vapor. Enough to puff my cheeks out a little but the atty still works fine. The atty did this twice the first time I used it so I put it away not being sure if it was safe. I tried to use it this morning and sure enough, it's still doing it. It doesn't seem to hurt anything. It's just weird. Kinda like a joke atty. Similar to cigarette loads or something.
I told Isaac about this and he had never heard of such a thing. Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas as to the cause?

Hi Mist, having rebuilt several 801s, usually around 3.4, this is a frequent event for me. Not sure
what causes it, air pockets or moisture in the coil fiber, etc. After about a day of normal
use, it goes away. I've never had any adverse effect on atty, mod, or me. I wouldn't look down
into the atty while hitting the switch, just in case it pops juice out.
One suggestion would be to flood the atty, let it sit a few days, then clear it and try again. No science
there, just a theory.

I'm thinking about getting some of these. Like the idea of being short, strictly a dripper on 801s.

Hopefully someone can add or correct any info here.

Yeah, I've had this happen quite a few times on the 801. It is really weird. Almost like a large reverse burp. It's freaked me out the first time it happened. Now, I just consider it a very small price to pay for the best vaping experience I've ever had. NOW I know why some people preach 801 all the time. They are amazing.
My biggest problem is I don't know what to do with my flavorless 510/306 atty's or my leaky 901's. 801's are perfect for flavor and vapor. need to sell some stuff, I think.

i agree with the others to juice it up and let it break in. being an 801, i'd think air pockets. I have some premium 808's (not from issac) that have a similar problem and i'm pretty sure it's at the battery end. i'll hold my ear up to it to hope for a sizzle > get nothing and then all of the sudden BAM right in my ear. Scares the living crap out of me loL! all of them did it, so i gave up and i put them in care packages to vaping friends to see if they can get them to work, or at least scare the hell out of them

i christened my 801 fusion the other day and that thing is SO powerful if you have it too juiced and don't have a drip tip on the end it will spit at you haha. I've never seen a carto actually glow red before. This thing is a monster! i love it :)
