ALSO: keep those coils clean, or change them often. You get really quick carbon buildup and that will ruin the flavor. I dry burn at least once a day and am digging these a lot now...
I ran in to something interesting. I ordered some 1.5ohm replacements for my Kanger tanks. I really like the lower ohm rating on my Evod battery. It gives a little over 9.1 watts. I switched the tank over to my MVP and it tasted like there was little or no flavor. I did all of the regular cleaning routines. Still I couldn't get a good taste from the MVP and it tasted like it was bordering on singing. So, I did some back and forth testing.
Here is what I noticed. The Evod's more airy pull seems to keep the juice and coils cooler. It also seems to allow for more flavor. The MVP seemed to be producing less vapor set to 3.7 volts or 9 watts than the Evod straight off of the charger. There was also the issue of less flavor. It seems like I really do like nets when they are pushed past 7.5 volts. It just depends on the device and the resultant air flow issues.
I know a few others have said they don't like nets going past 8 watts. So, maybe the issue is finding the right balance of power and air to keep the heat from killing the flavor. It would seem 9 watts isn't always the same even if it on the multi-meter.
I was the one who started this i suppose, by trying to give kudos to MOV, which is one of the vendors discussed on this thread. Then it went off to Ether Vapes and ... It did go off in a more general direction of safety in e-liquids. I apologize for my role in this. I might be more concerned about this issue than others, and i wanted to share with people in one of the threads i read every day, but might have gone too far i suppose.
But honestly, is the issue any less relevant to the thread topic than post after post about the intricacies and details of the Magma and other drippers for example. These are posts that i have no interest in, but just ignore and go on to the next post.
I do understand your concern though, and i will no longer post about the topic here.

So wait.. Juice safety is NOT more important in this thread than talking about rdas and cartos and how much air they provide??? Really?
Gawd this thread is irritating...
Some topics are much less likely to result in prolonged heated debate. I remember when even mentioning a TA based liquid would cause ears to ring. Leave alone, discussions of devices and non-tobacco juices. (If I recall, BJ, among others, was a big enforcer) I don't mind most of those discussions as I find them at least tangentaly related and largely uncontroversial.
I run contact microcoils, wrapped on a 1/16 drill bit. 26 or 28 gauge Kanthal or Nichrome, occasionally Rene 41, .6 to 1.0 Ω. Wicks are Koh Gen Do cotton and very little of it. Usually use two RDAs in a day, dryburn, clean and rewick each daily. This type of setup gets me through 3 mls of NETs on an RDA with little trouble, some NETs substantially more.Hey all you NET connoisseurs.
Took my first step into the world of NET liquids a couple o' days back by winning a generous drawing from Moonshine Brew.
I knew from previous reading that NET's can play hell on coils and wicks.
I've been sampling the Moonshine goods with an Igo and yes indeed, stuff is a hard mistress when it comes to the wick!
I'm currently using a single coil with an ID of .058" at 2ohm and cotton wick.
The NET's are 70/30, (and tasty).
So a question.
Do ya'll have a particular coil or wick that works best for ya?
Longest run time before re-wicking?
Quick pop in...it has been, shoot, almost a week? I have to decide if I try to catch up or not. You freaks are...well...freaky. My kind of scum.
I never enforced anything. I am vehemently anti-enforcement, much to my own detriment at times. I probably did ..... about extended hardware discussion befoire though. I come here for talk specifically about NET. If a hardware discussion revolves around best performance with NET than I am all ears...however more than that and I quickly lose interest.
That's just me though. I am generally ok with the group conscience here.

The biggest factor will be how gunky the NET, which varies widely. I use a simple compact micro to mini coil with 28ga Kanthal. I tried spaced out wraps, but I get much better performance with compact. I switched recently from KGD cotton to rayon, and get a little more run time.Hey all you NET connoisseurs.

When alls said and done I'm sure thats the simplest approach overall.
On the other issue. It is not that I don't think that issues of safety are not important. Nor was it my intent to stifle discussion of it. Important topics like safety and regulation do not deserve short shrift. However, In my opinion, such involved discussions/debates should have a thread of their own.
May I suggest the title of the thread be "Let's play Global Thermonuclear War."
And that's beauty of a dripper setup....rewicking/cleaning process as painless as possible.
Yeah there's a consensus, we all agree that NETs gunk lol. Seriously though, what people use here for a set-up varies widely, no agreement on a best possible set-up for vaping NET. John and I use about the same set-up, and we're the most handsome here, so there's that..Hey papa b
Variables and individual practices understood but still and all I'd think there might be some consensus?
Large vs small coil, cotton vs readyX vs .......
Oh my, oh my. While I've been an infrequent poster here, I keep up with this thread and really appreciate you folks and your contributions to my new habit.
So I'm into my own mixing now and was fortunate enough to get my hands on several of Mr. Herbst's extracts. I am just now trying them but wanted to give a shout out to Bill for his Rocky Patel Autumn 2008 cigar and I just now mixed his H&H Louisiana Red. I'm doing a pretty standard 60/40 PG/VG with 15% nic and vaping on a Sigelei 20W with a KFL with Japanese cotton. My first mixes had very light menthol and EM but I'm thinking those days may be done. What a joy and better than the commercial NETs that I've tried IMOP. What a great way to get over a pretty stout Cigar habit for years.
I've got the Red going right now and it inspired me to write now. I plan on trying some extractions of my own and will share my experience down the road.
So thanks again to Bill, this community, and the NETwork.
