I decided to take tomorrow off from work so I can clean up my Stingray X and fix the switch and to clean, build, and test my Origen V2 and Magma. Is that so wrong? Probably, but I'm ok with it.![]()
Testing vape gear > Work....

The magma is just about perfect except the air flow control ring. First don't ever get upside down and right side up mixed up and dont mix up single coil vs dual coil with the AFC ring. Many of us have removed the AFC ring altogether due to these issues (I prefer a heavy draw.) Other than that it my favoriet by far dripper it has unbelievable flavor and all around quality even the paradigm clone, don't even try to look for something better such an animal doesn't exit. Just stop now![]()
Hearth and Home Signature - Stogie Pipe Tobacco
Tobacco: Burley, Cavendish, Cigarleaf, Latakia, Perique, Turkish, Virginia
This juice has a lot of the tobaccos that I love, but damn is it total mayhem when vaping it. Left side of brain screaming Cigar. Right side of brain singing Pipe. La la la.. End result = Total confusion.
I've quieted both sides down enough so that I can actually try and understand this juice a little better. There's the dryness and familiar cigar feel to it, but there's also all those other notes that play along. The slight funk of the Perique, the bitter smokiness of the Latakia and in lesser quantities, the other tobaccos with a slightly spicy finish. The cigar leaf is definitely the top note in this juice, and as such I'm not it's biggest fan but, it makes for an interesting vape for sure. Interesting but not something I'd order again, maybe.

I envy you man. I have a 1 month steeped MVJ H&H Louisiana Red with extra flavor in my KFL right now and can't make head or tails of it. I know I'm vaping a pipe tobacco but I can't taste the bright Virginia or any semblance of Perique.
I feel for you.
What Pg/Vg ratio you using? Have you tried it on a dripper yet?
I have 50/50 and 3% nic. I did try it last night on a single coil dripper at around 15 watts but couldn't really get the flavors in that either.
That's it.. Switch to unflavoured until you get your tastebuds back!!

I have Bill's Louisiana Red in my KFL right now and I can taste every nuance. Which is funny because my taste buds are not that good from smoking for so many years.
Another thing, after vaping NET's for close to two years I still can't get over the fact that so many NET's taste just like you thought they should when you smoked them in a pipe. They never came close to what I get vaping them. Go figure.

Yeah, I think I'll lay off the NETs for a few days. I'm not getting those flavors I once did in the beginning and I think I need to press the reset button.
One of the things that helped me a ton was sniffing coffee. I don't mean chopping up lines and going all Steven Tyler. I mean open a bag of fresh coffee, stick your face down close to it and inhale through your nose and mouth. It is an old trick used by wine tasters and cheese tasters.

Hardware report..
Stingray X: broke, ticket sent.
Origen V2: negative screws are hex; the manufacturer didn't feel a need to include a hex key and it's a size I don't have. Spent an hour trying to build it anyways but not gonna happen. Need to figure out the size and buy one, looks about 1.5mm or 1/16th inch. Err.
Magma: finally something I can use. Very easy to build; couple minutes after cleaning have a simple single micro ready to go. Lovely dripper. Loaded up Porch Rocker and the flavor is full, dense, saturated, and wet. Flavor is easily up there with my Atomic, maybe even a little better. Nearly leak-proof like the Veritas. Easy to adjust airflow. I've tried one 1mm, two 1mm as Dusty, and 2mm partially closed off; all work fantastic. Love it.

This is true, but K-Cups tend to get expensive. I have those refillable 'pods' you just use and toss into the dishwasher once a week (obviously, rinse them between uses) so I'm effectively re-using the same k-cup with different coffee over and over again; It's my coffee RBA set.![]()

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has looked into, or if a thread has been started that may talk about any health issues associated with vaping NETs...I mean people get mouth cancer from chewing tobacco... I was curious..
The only thing I've noticed is that a few NET juices play hell with my sinuses.
What sucks about the X is I spent about 30 mins cleaning and over a thousand pounds of elbow grease. Hope dealing with FT about a replacement isn't too painful.Shame about the X and V2.
Magma RULEZ!! Glad you got it going to your satisfaction.
I had a little hardware boo-boo this morning too. Picked up my ZNA on my way to work, and the very first hit felt a bit harsh. Look down and the screen showed 20W instead of 10W. The Up button had somehow got stuck or jammed and it refused to drop below 20W. Luckily the trusty Provari backup in the Backpack that I've been carrying around for the last 7 months came to the rescue. End result: ZNA is on it's way to House of Hybrids by FedEx overnight for a $70 repair/upgrade which will convert it from a 20W to a 30W with upgraded everything, contacts, springs, connector etc etc. Can't wait to get it back.. I've included a return overnight envelope, so if I'm lucky I should have it back in my hands on Friday.
