The magma is just about perfect except the air flow control ring. First don't ever get upside down and right side up mixed up and dont mix up single coil vs dual coil with the AFC ring. Many of us have removed the AFC ring altogether due to these issues (I prefer a heavy draw.) Other than that it my favoriet by far dripper it has unbelievable flavor and all around quality even the paradigm clone, don't even try to look for something better such an animal doesn't exit. Just stop now:)

I've never got confused with my AFC. The holes are offset from the top, so if I invert it the holes don't match up.

Hearth and Home Signature - Stogie Pipe Tobacco

Tobacco: Burley, Cavendish, Cigarleaf, Latakia, Perique, Turkish, Virginia

This juice has a lot of the tobaccos that I love, but damn is it total mayhem when vaping it. Left side of brain screaming Cigar. Right side of brain singing Pipe. La la la.. End result = Total confusion.

I've quieted both sides down enough so that I can actually try and understand this juice a little better. There's the dryness and familiar cigar feel to it, but there's also all those other notes that play along. The slight funk of the Perique, the bitter smokiness of the Latakia and in lesser quantities, the other tobaccos with a slightly spicy finish. The cigar leaf is definitely the top note in this juice, and as such I'm not it's biggest fan but, it makes for an interesting vape for sure. Interesting but not something I'd order again, maybe. ;)

I envy you man. I have a 1 month steeped MVJ H&H Louisiana Red with extra flavor in my KFL right now and can't make head or tails of it. I know I'm vaping a pipe tobacco but I can't taste the bright Virginia or any semblance of Perique.

I felt the same about the magma. I even posted about it in here. As of right now. I'm getting a better flavor out of my quasar clone from fasttech. I think it is the wicking in the magma. I have had better flavor out of it. And I still recommended fasttech for both. Just got an order from them. 5 days from acceptance to delivery. Hong Kong post is doing it up. Now back on topic. I have a bottle of Walmart VG. A liter of nic from the previous my freedom smokes sale. Extracting my own tobacco will be my first jump into DIY. The LA red yep I just short end the name. Hope y'all don't mind. And the rum raisin tobacco mention back a few pages ago are going to be my first order. Along with harvest on Hudson. Any more suggestions. I don't know what tobaccos I like as far as veriitals go. But I like patriot from good ejuice. Along with banana Montana. I haven't tried any other nets. Except vita Bella. I'm not a fan. But I am going to revisit it in a lower nic. I see that has an effect on flavor. I was at 18 then. Gonna try it at 6 or I found I like juices I liked at higher nic. Even more at lower nic. If I don't like it this time. I will have something to trade for a sample of one of these wonderful extracts I keep reading about.

I feel for you. :(

What Pg/Vg ratio you using? Have you tried it on a dripper yet?

I have 50/50 and 3% nic. I did try it last night on a single coil dripper at around 15 watts but couldn't really get the flavors in that either.

That's it.. Switch to unflavoured until you get your tastebuds back!!

I have Bill's Louisiana Red in my KFL right now and I can taste every nuance. Which is funny because my taste buds are not that good from smoking for so many years.

Another thing, after vaping NET's for close to two years I still can't get over the fact that so many NET's taste just like you thought they should when you smoked them in a pipe. They never came close to what I get vaping them. Go figure.

Never smoked a pipe, but after having read reviews on Tobacco review sites, I realize that the different types of pipes also have an effect on how the tobacco you're smoking works in it. Larger bowl vs smaller bowl , Stem selection etc. Much like vaping in that perspective.

Carto, RDA, RTA, coil-build, wicking medium, all seem to have a different effect on the end-user experience. Also, what works for one may not necessarily work for another, so keep experimenting and fine tuning your vape.

There is no finish line.. :D

In the good ol' days of 2010, we didn't have these fancy devices. We bought 510 atomizers, removed the bridges, and dripped. Wasn't until the drip shield that I no longer required the use of "dripping shirts." Yep, those days are gone. Gone is wasted money we spend on atomizers that would die from those filthy NETs and have to wait a week for replacements. Now I simply replace the cotton and dry burn my coils. Yep, you newbies have it easy.

Yep, you noobs have it way too easy. At my ripe age of 26 I remember those times we struggled. This itself, we can never forget.

PS: I was given an extremely late birthday check which allowed me to buy Want2Vape Managua and Coffee Infused Cigar (Tabak Especial). Dripping those on my .8ohm TOBH with my new sleek Fortune Mod (both of which are clones) makes the flavor and vapor much closer to an actual cigar.

Yeah, I think I'll lay off the NETs for a few days. I'm not getting those flavors I once did in the beginning and I think I need to press the reset button.

One of the things that helped me a ton was sniffing coffee. I don't mean chopping up lines and going all Steven Tyler. I mean open a bag of fresh coffee, stick your face down close to it and inhale through your nose and mouth. It is an old trick used by wine tasters and cheese tasters.

You could cut open a K-Cup, if you have a Keurig system too. Just no instant coffee..

Hardware report..

Stingray X: broke, ticket sent.

Origen V2: negative screws are hex; the manufacturer didn't feel a need to include a hex key and it's a size I don't have. Spent an hour trying to build it anyways but not gonna happen. Need to figure out the size and buy one, looks about 1.5mm or 1/16th inch. Err.

Magma: finally something I can use. Very easy to build; couple minutes after cleaning have a simple single micro ready to go. Lovely dripper. Loaded up Porch Rocker and the flavor is full, dense, saturated, and wet. Flavor is easily up there with my Atomic, maybe even a little better. Nearly leak-proof like the Veritas. Easy to adjust airflow. I've tried one 1mm, two 1mm as Dusty, and 2mm partially closed off; all work fantastic. Love it.

Shame about the X and V2. :p

Magma RULEZ!! Glad you got it going to your satisfaction.

I had a little hardware boo-boo this morning too. Picked up my ZNA on my way to work, and the very first hit felt a bit harsh. Look down and the screen showed 20W instead of 10W. The Up button had somehow got stuck or jammed and it refused to drop below 20W. Luckily the trusty Provari backup in the Backpack that I've been carrying around for the last 7 months came to the rescue. End result: ZNA is on it's way to House of Hybrids by FedEx overnight for a $70 repair/upgrade which will convert it from a 20W to a 30W with upgraded everything, contacts, springs, connector etc etc. Can't wait to get it back.. I've included a return overnight envelope, so if I'm lucky I should have it back in my hands on Friday.

You have no idea what kind of mental image you just gave me.

I was thinking you were about to say,"I mean open a bag of fresh coffee, stick your face down into it and inhale through your nose and mouth."

:lol::lol:

You'd have people running around with coffee-face-syndrome and terrible caffeine buzzes.

This is true, but K-Cups tend to get expensive. I have those refillable 'pods' you just use and toss into the dishwasher once a week (obviously, rinse them between uses) so I'm effectively re-using the same k-cup with different coffee over and over again; It's my coffee RBA set.

Sorry to hear that about the Stingray; here's what I bought for smaller hex bit sizes (it works for removing heatsinks pretty well, too; if you're into that sort of thing) from the 'egg: Rosewill RPCT-10001 32-Piece Precision Screwdriver w/ Bit Set - Newegg.com

Of course there's a bunch more of those kits floating around, one even has a soldering iron.

The Rosewill set has treated me well for a few years (I think 3, at this point) and was cheap enough that it didn't break the bank.

Just don't go trying to remove any rusted things and it should hold up fine.

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has looked into, or if a thread has been started that may talk about any health issues associated with vaping NETs...I mean people get mouth cancer from chewing tobacco... I was curious..
The only thing I've noticed is that a few NET juices play hell with my sinuses.

I'm not sure if there is a thread discussing those issues specifically, but I will say that Swedish Snus is relatively safe in comparison with U.S. domestic 'chew' or 'dip'. It's mandated to be steam-cured; considered a food product in Sweden, and has only resulted in one case of mouth cancer (or so they say, but there was some discourse on whether it was entirely attributed to his snus usage or age).

If you're curious about whether possible health issues might arise from tobacco itself, I would say that your best bet is looking into tobacco and TSNA's as a whole, and what causes TSNAs to form. There are a number of factors that might or might not be problems down the line, but one of the most notorious carcinogens is produced from the actual combustion of tobacco.

Since NETs apparently contain very, very low levels of tobacco alkaloids (including nicotine) after extraction from the tobacco itself and before further dilution, my unprofessional armchair-chemistry-based assumption is that the same would hold true for their nitrosation-produced counterparts; the TSNA's. In other words, I think there is a possibility for an extremely low risk factor in the first place; when compared to cigarettes, an order of magnitude in reduced risk factor, as you're not burning the tobacco.

There are, of course, other factors to be considered, as each tobacco is produced differently; some have higher amounts of sugar; others are heavily fermented; fire-cured; sun-cured; flue cured, and so on and so forth.

...honestly, we don't even know what inhaling PG or VG will do, at this point; long-term or short-term.

What sucks about the X is I spent about 30 mins cleaning and over a thousand pounds of elbow grease. Hope dealing with FT about a replacement isn't too painful.

The Magma really is super impressive. I think I'm out of the hardware game for a while, I'm pretty set on mechs and drippers. Maybe pick up another Atomic and Magma and retire some lesser chimneys.
