What strength nicotine are you vaping in your kayfuns? I've found anything more than 6mg in kayfuns will give me a headache pretty quick. The Vapor is dense and packs a punch.

Maybe consider buying juice at 6-8 mg if you are going to set up a kayfun for him.

Wow I can vape 18-24 and even 32 with nic salts in a Kayfun no problem at 8 to 10W. I certainly don't chain vape it because I don't have to at that nic level. You must be running higher power or maybe lowered your nic over time?

Now you got me really interested.
Can you point me to somewhere which has more detailed instructions about how to do this homebrewed extraction?
There is a whole subforum in the eliquid section. On my phone or I would post a link. It is really easy.

I placed an order yesterday at NET.com and haven't gotten a tracking number. Is this website out of commission? Also, does anybody know of something similar (except with more VG) to want2vape's Blonde? I loved that juice...

He is trading. I spoke to him a couple of days ago via email.

I also loved the Blonde by Want2vape! The blonde is made from a maceration of Drew Estate's Acid Blonde cigar.

Other than buying the juice from Want2vape, you could try yellow H mane (I think it's called) from Naturally-Extracted-tobacco.com. It tastes very similar because it is extracted from the same brand of cigar.

Oh you'll here from them soon and get your order this week likely if you're in the US.

Vape mail has us spoiled rotten doesn't it? These mom and pops are so on top of everything all the time..

I bought something from a sporting goods store a month or two ago, and it took them two weeks just to ship out and I kept thinking, if this was my vape stuff I'd have it by now! Hahaha..

I also ordered something on Sunday and I received an email at 2:47pm on Monday from them asking a question about my order so I second that you need to check your junk mail..

If it's not in there then just give them another day or two.. it's really not that long when/if they mix to order.

Here's another post where I get some of my stuff:

I get my glass bottles from here: Glass Bottle Outlet

VG/PG from: Essential Depot: Sodium Hydroxide, Lye, Potassium Hydroxide, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Essential Oil, Fragrance Oil, Vegetable Oils, Food Grade

Nicotine from: Wizard Labs

There are other places for solvent/nic purchasing. These are just the places I use and prefer.

I do cold extraction because it's simple. @ Str8vision has a great thread of Heat Extraction: Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

For mixing PG/VG/Nic/Extract I mix by weight using this calculator: New Calculator to try
As a very general rule for extracted pipe tobacco I mix around 25%. For cigar extracts around 35%.

I buy the majority of my tobacco from: Best Selection & Prices On Pipes, Tobaccos, Cigars - Pipes and Cigars There's also: Smokingpipes.com | Tobacco Pipes - Pipe Tobacco and www.4noggins.com - Powered by Network Solutions.

For examples of different types that have been extracted try here: Best tobacco for flavor extraction

I get my American Spirit pouches from a corner convenience store.

I do have a question.. can you use any pipe tobacco? For instance, can I use captain black royal, or the tobacco that my stepson gave to my husband for Christmas, or do I need to look at particular aspects of some pipe tobacco which cannot be used in extraction?

Generally yes, you can extract most tobaccos but, there are varying results depending on quality, cut, etc. There are others here with much more experience, primarily from years of smoking pipe/cigar tobaccos, that can recommend brands based on taste.

It's an involved learning experience and after about a year and a half I'm starting to get comfortable and understand what I like and what to buy. If you start reading through the thread that @Str8vision started you'll find reviews and results of different brands. Please feel free to jump in an ask questions there too. The folks here and there got me started with a great deal of generously shared advice.

For store-bought Clay's NET.com descriptions are very accurate. This can help you find what you like and then you start finding similar tobacco brands that are similar. For example Peter Stokkebye's 84 Turkish pipe tobacco is similar to Clay's Sun-Cured Turkish (which I can't link to because of my pinche work computer filter even though I can link to real tobacco...go figure).

I've done a bit of diy juice making, though very few of the end results of which I really like better than commercial liquids.
The extracting will be new. I really like many of the NET.com juices I've had, but my favorites are the hybridy ones, which I doubt I'll be able to duplicate.
That's ok. If nothing else, I'd like to be able to provide for myself, in case of you-know-what.

I'll give a :thumb: to the American Spirit extractions. At least the Perique as that's the only one I've done.

I've let a few other vapers try it and everyone has the same comment. "Tastes like a cigarette".

Alrighty, so today I went and got some Natural American Spirit (100% additive free, U.S. grown, Perique Tobacco Blend)

However, they didn't have any in the roll your own pouches or tins, all they had was in cigarette form.

Am I able to empty the tobacco out of the cigarettes and stick it in pg to begin the cold process extraction?

I went ahead and bought a pack in case the answer was yes.. but I will wait to hear from knowledgeable people before I do, just to make sure. But I went to the only two tobacco places we have in town, and this is the only thing our town has by way of perique blend.. (I thought to begin with this, due to its relative popularity)

Their VG is pretty smooth as well. I just started using it a couple of days ago and don't dislike it.

The only reason I mix 70/30 or 80/20 is because I chain vape randomly and need the liquid to flow into the wicks super fast. Other times I just ignore my PV and puff on it once in a while. There are some blends like the McClelland 2015 Flake & Perique I will never again mix with higher PG, because my second tester of that liquid was made with 100% and was a bit...well, rough around the edges. It improved after about two weeks and did smooth out, however.

So, for those of you sensitive to PG- if you've tried them, do you still experience the same problems with PEG400/300? I've never looked into actually buying them considering the price and availability of PG & VG (and the fact I use a fair amount of PG doing extracts, which does significant damage to a gallon of PG with my macerations) but have considered changing it up if it would add something "different" or change the smoothness of the end result.

I've been holding off because PG has a seemingly infinite shelf-life, many uses and I might be getting a bit lazy over time. And now, after all of these years, I've finally started to place more orders for other flavors. But, you're not going to see me mix a tobacco doughnut, custard, or cheesecake anytime soon. At least, I don't think.

Yeah, you can. If you've got empty mason jars that are absolutely free of any odor whatsoever, they're perfect for the maceration process. I just stick a label on them with the tobacco type and date and put tape over the top in case I decide to put them in the slow cooker for a heat extraction at a later date.

The reason I say "free of any odor" is that once, I decided to use an old pickle jar to do a maceration. It came out smelling (and slightly tasting like) pickles.

Yes I do.. I have some brand new never used before (yet cleaned) mason jelly jars.. planning on using those, since I read you shouldn't have a lot of head space after your done covering the tobacco with PG.

Thank you very much! I totally appreciate it!

OK, I hear you with chain smoking. So do I and on top of that I have an allergy to PG! I get around it by cutting the VG extraction juice with a little 180 proof or 100 proof vodka if I run out and I'm to lazy to go out and buy more, LOL.
Now after the extraction is done I leave the jar open for a short time a few times before making up my vape liquid, so as to let the alcohol escape.
This may help others and Opinionated out that can't use PG or do not like the stuff.
