I understand. Completely. Trust me.

I remember when DF first hooked me back in 2012. I got just a small 3ml sample. I got hooked on the last drag. Then I had to wait several days to get replenished. Got me a 30ml bottle. I sucked thru that so fast it made my head spin and I got caught with my shorts down again and ran out. Waited again. It felt like I could not continue my life until I was replenished. It occupied my mind too much. After awhile it sunk in that I had to have a bigger inventory. Now I keep 3, 100ml bottles. When #3 runs out and I go to crack open #2, I order another. I'd lose my mind if I ran out of DF. :)

Well damn I might have to stock up on DF as well then lol

Well, back when ECF did their annual awards, DF did win juice of the year n all. :)

DF is not one of those straight up NETs like we think of. It's heavily cased. But as I've said before, if you took the tobacco out of it you would know it.

That’s not a link to Dragon’s Fire. That’s a link to a thread started in May 2008 where a newbie (who is probably in his 11th year of vaping now and an absolute veteran) is asking a variety of questions on e-cigarettes :)

That thread is so old that Tropical Bob is in it !

Bad news, Good news, my DF just ran out last night :( but vape mail, my Boba's Bounty just arrived and it is mmm... mmm... good! Very different from DF, but also very good... I can taste some prune, some raisin and I think a hint of bourbon in it.

How does it taste after steeping for a few weeks? Does the flavour change much?

Now I have two really good juices that I just love, thanks for everyone's help on these :)

I know there are a lot of HHV fans here so most will not approve or agree with this message. But following the link reminded me why I only ordered from them once.

First, I tried 3 or 4 of their nets and couldn't taste tobacco in a single one. But what a fresh look at the page made me remember is that 1: I don't usually order juices with a useless description; and 2: I'm puzzled by their choice to not use any PG in that juice line. I mean, it's the flavor carrier. A few people are allergic to PG, but an entire line dedicated to leaving out the flavor portion just doesn't make sense to me.

Excerpts from the description: "This is a pure extracted tobacco with a deep, rich, sophisticated flavor...Even long-time fans find it hard to describe..." Seriously? Is it beets and onions? Caramel and peppermint? Maple syrup cheerios? Sorry, that just trips my trigger.

I'm not into approving or disapproving anyone's juice choices. Either you like something or you don't and who am I to say what those choices should be? Answer: Nobody.

Yes, many HHV NETs are flavor-forward and the tobacco is relegated to a shaper (they never hid that). Not all, but many. If someone prefers only straight up tobacco or heavy tobacco flavor then HHV is not the best choice. Nonetheless, they are NETs. As for descriptions, I defy anyone to tell me what DF tastes like and be any part of majority-thought. It simply has a taste its own and I can attest I have heard dozens of different descriptions of it that when compared to one another simply boggle the mind. If I offered DF, I would be reluctant to pigeon hole it. If it actually tasted like something familiar I would be the first to call it what it was. But if I called it a choco/coffee flavor there will surely be those who complain that it tastes like butterscotch/maple (or about 20 other flavors I've heard it called). You cannot win describing DF. Deep? Rich? Sophisticated? That's every bit as good as anything else I could come up with. As for not having PG in their juice line, I'm not sure where you get that from. You can get 100/0 or 0/100 or any point between on any of their flavors....NETs included. :)

Bobas needs a good 10 days imo. To me it's a little sharp when fresh, but after 10 days it smooths out considerably and is really good

I'm with bronze here, if you like those really gunky, smokey, ashy, tobacco nets, hhv is not for you. Imo it's a juice that falls between non nets and real gunky smokey nets . It has extracted tobacco, but it also has flavors to it, like subtle notes of chocolates, honeys, etc. Their nets are one of a kind, as I never have tasted any other juices that are similar, so for me they are perfect. I also cannot describe most of their flavors, especially DF, to me it's kind of sweet , perhaps a note of honey and maybe chocolate with tobacco . Those description, most of the time are worthless anyways , they kind of get you close, but until you actually try it, you won't know if you like it.

Thanks for the well reasoned reply. Strangely enough, I agree with everything you wrote - especially the part about people having much different taste buds. And you did nail it - I like a strong tobacco flavor and seldom vape sweet or fruity flavors. As for the "no PG" comment I made, I am totally wrong as I misread the description - the Purity line *flavorings* are PG free, not the completed juice.

This forum has always been a great source of information for me, and today is just another example. It's always a good day when you learn something.

HHV's most tobacco forward flavors are Huntsman, Dark Horse, Gaia, Maple, Eh?, and Pirates Booty (Legend, somewhat). The first four are grassy. Got to be into grassy to like any of those four. Pirates Booty is cheap cigar (if you ask me).

When I first heard of hhv , about 6 or 7 years ago, it was from a review or something about mocha java smooth, so I ordered it. I also ordered a few bakery flavor too, as that's what I was into. Along with those, I did order a small bottle of huntsman (not even knowing it was a net) because a year before, when I first started vaping, I was into tobacco's . I can remember that first vape of huntsman, it was kind of nasty and I knew I would never enjoy something like that. The next 4 years I never ordered from hhv, as i was busy trying juices from many many different vendors . I got tired of bakery and custards and started to get back into tobacco's , then tried hhv again because I heard you talking about DF and that was it. Finally I found the perfect juice and vendor. So I have come full circle with hhv and I have tried every net they have, funny enough i now adore huntsman, it's almost as good as DF. Temptation and sludge are everyday vapes as well, along with my fav coffee, mocha java smooth

Have you ever tried Fresh Grindz? I'm not a coffee drinker or vaper but by all accounts (and I've heard many of them), Fresh Grindz is a killer coffee vape. It's straight up coffee though. No cream or sugar. And one of the cleanest burning juices around.

I did try it last year and I found it a bit sharp. It seems more and more I'm liking less and less sweeter juices, so perhaps I would enjoy it better a year later. Besides hhv juices, I vape a few non net, sweeter tobacco's, but since vaping huntsman, I'm finding it harder to vape those, so just in the last 6 months my taste has changed. I think I will retry the grinzs on my next order because I do like to vape coffee once in a while

I still cry in my beer everyday that HHV stopped making all their NET line as good as Dragon’s Fire.

Just imagine if you will, a time when HHV made so many great NETs that there were at least 3 that were more popular than Dragons Fire?

Pirate’s Booty used to be the nectar of the gods. It tasted like a treasure chest of gold, sweets, marvellous creations and a hint of tobacco.

Maple Eh is closer to the old Huntsman. The old Huntsman was amazing.

Last time I ordered HHV some of the juices made me sick. I noticed that the bottle I purchased on discount in the premium line was 18 months old! The standard line don’t have batch dates on them but I could have sworn some of them had expired by how they tasted.

All this talking about HHV makes me want to put in another order.

Dang you Bronze :p

Anthony, I wont get into all the details because it would take too long. But there was a period during HHVs first year of operation (2012) where they had a major snafu with a few of their NETS that we playfully refer to as “Gandygate”. I know more about that snafu than any non-HHV employee because myself and my friend (remember GT?) were the ones who discovered it and pieced the puzzle together.

In short, they had three different juices that were identical. Gandalf, Pirate’s Booty, and Dragon’s Fire. You could not tell the difference between them. Gandalf was, by far, the most popular (probably because LOTRs was a great marketing theme back then) of the three and their signature juice that put them on the map.

Once they unsnafued it, Gandalf became Legend (HHV was threatened with a lawsuit for using protected names) which tasted nothing like the previous Gandalf. Pirate’s Booty name stayed the same but the flavor completely changed. A new flavor was offered (Serendipty, which I named...you can guess why that name was chosen). And Dragon’s Fire stayed exactly the same since Day One and remains to this day.

It confused people to say the least and I’m sure HHV lost some customers as a result. Many of those Gandalf customers (their most popular flavor by far) and Pirate’s Booty customers eventually found their way back home with Dragon’s Fire, but many never did. Despite this, Dragon’s Fire remains one of their most popular flavors if not their MOST popular flavor.

I wont get into it here (I’m out of breath), but Legend is closest to what Gandalf was on the day HHV opened up. Yes, even Gandalf transformed in it’s initial days.:facepalm:

It's very very close. I use to vape bobas back in the day and when it went away was very bummed instead. After that I tried every juice that folks said was close , including flavor 39 which wasn't very good. I was so hesitant when they finally said they nailed it, but I have to say they did a really good job. Before this new batch it was years that I had tasted the original , so it's really hard to compare, but at least from what I can remember, it tastes pretty darn close
