Bobas Bounty isn't a NET, it's just a synthetic tobacco flavor... having said that, I know a lot of folks like it. I'm just stating that to be clear that there is a difference which many newer people to the thread may not be aware of.
Was it advertised as a NET in its first life? I don't recall anymore.

Anthony, I wont get into all the details because it would take too long. But there was a period during HHVs first year of operation (2012) where they had a major snafu with a few of their NETS that we playfully refer to as “Gandygate”. I know more about that snafu than any non-HHV employee because myself and my friend (remember GT?) were the ones who discovered it and pieced the puzzle together.

In short, they had three different juices that were identical. Gandalf, Pirate’s Booty, and Dragon’s Fire. You could not tell the difference between them. Gandalf was, by far, the most popular (probably because LOTRs was a great marketing theme back then) of the three and their signature juice that put them on the map.

Once they unsnafued it, Gandalf became Legend (HHV was threatened with a lawsuit for using protected names) which tasted nothing like the previous Gandalf. Pirate’s Booty name stayed the same but the flavor completely changed. A new flavor was offered (Serendipty, which I named...you can guess why that name was chosen). And Dragon’s Fire stayed exactly the same since Day One and remains to this day.

It confused people to say the least and I’m sure HHV lost some customers as a result. Many of those Gandalf customers (their most popular flavor by far) and Pirate’s Booty customers eventually found their way back home with Dragon’s Fire, but many never did. Despite this, Dragon’s Fire remains one of their most popular flavors if not their MOST popular flavor.

I wont get into it here (I’m out of breath), but Legend is closest to what Gandalf was on the day HHV opened up. Yes, even Gandalf transformed in it’s initial days.:facepalm:

Nice historical summary Bronze!

Yes I recall Gandalf but I think it was when Gandalf became Legend that it exploded with popularity. I ordered a few bottles of it and serendipity in about 2011-2012 and both were amazing. They were the two most popular juices at HHV but I had a particular fondness with Pirates Booty and it was a brief, fleeting love affair because within two orders it had changed completely and lacked all that cased flavor medley that made it what it was.

I find Legend, Serendipity and Pirate’s Booty are all pretty similar now. I almost can’t tell them apart. One has a little more chocolate, one a little less but they are all so similar.

I didn’t mind any of them really in my last order except that they tasted a bit off to me. Dragon’s Fire was the best of the lot. Sludge and Temptation were good in my last order as well.

It had synthetic tobacco as part of its flavor profile didn’t it ? But generally it was a mystery. Back in those days, vendors didn’t use poetry to try and market a flavour description. I don’t think Alien Vision ever mentioned the Graham Cracker flavor back then which, in my opinion, is the dominant flavor note.

If I recall correctly, it was in the same category as other tobacco flavors on Alien Vision’s website.

The talk around here reminds me of the "good old days." To bad some of the flavors offered have changed for the worse.... :grr:
Yep. Many of these juice joints started out in their basements and bonus rooms. They weren't exactly case studies in strong quality control. :) And there still remains the volatility of the tobacco itself. That will always impact flavor.

The group definitely picked up again didn’t it. This regal old Natural Tobacco Group is a survivor, through thick and thin, government legislation and changing tastes and preferences in vaping :)

Yep, this is my third landing on this thread. Was here toward the beginning, then the middle, and now. Even though my days of sampling are over, I still enjoy reading what is going on. Geez, I think I tried every NET available back in the day then feverishly scouted the landscape to see if there were any new NET vendors. I settled into one mainstay...Dragon's Fire. But I still like me a good, straight forward NET now and again (like that occasional cigar). For that I vape up some Apache from MOV. But it could be any number of others. I believe the NET world has largely accounted for just about every imaginable flavor there is. Yes, there are plenty other flavors that can come to the fore, but they'd be minor variations of what we already have. The vape world largely has enough offerings to satisfy anyone interested in NETs.

I learnt more about the various types of tobaccos and the methods they are created on this thread all as a non-smoker!

Stopping by to say Hello.
"Hello".
Bronze, I still say if you've ever extracted a Honey and Chocolate Pipe Tobacco (like Scottys') you would recognize the flavor profile of Dragon's Fire. Not saying it's DF, but it's the same flavor profile.
I started with HHV for sweets and bakery, then tried the NET flavors later. Today all I get from HHV is desserts and Temptation. No idea how they do chocolate, but I can't replicate it.
When MyVapeJuice went dark, I started extracting. It has taken some effort, and some trial and error, but at 4 cents/ ml I can afford to research. And I've probably learned more this way about what is the tobacco in the vape.

Pop, you could be right. But if she has honey in DF it aint much. I've had honey vapes and they make me wanna puke. :) If I had to describe DF I would say it tastes like chocolate chip/brown sugar. But then some have told me I'm delusional.

One night I might sneak into Adam's house and give him a shot of truth serum so I can see what that extract is made from. I'm guessing it is a heavily cased pipe tobacco. But I am guessing.

You don’t get melon in DF? It seems brighter to me than chocolate and tobacco only. I sense some underlying melon note to it.

I could not describe Dragon's Fire and can't discern any particular flavor. I just find it very good.
I fell prey to the, "If some is good, then more is better" line of thinking with NETs. I definitely liked NETs over any other ejuice. And let's go for the gusto and get the most TOBACCOEY NETs I could find. Right? I enjoyed many of them. Yet when everything was said and done, my far and away favorite one was a tobacco NET. If some is good, then maybe some is best. Like I say, take the tobacco out of DF and I bet you get an entirely different flavor.
