I agree with all the positive comments about H&H Louisiana Red. It's an excellent blend that translates very well to vaping. Bill and I each ordered Louisiana Red within hours of each other but never discussed it prior to selection.

I have extracted a couple of Va/Per based blends that I actually prefer to Louisiana Red. Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman is a Va/Per with Dark Fired Kentucky added, giving it a smokey spiciness that I really dig! H&H Virginia Spice is a Va/Per with Maduro cigar leaf making it a very interesting blend with a rich creaminess, some spice, and more body. If you like Virginia/Perique blends, Va/Per plus one may just rock your boat.

Sorry, I do NOT like Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentlemen. I LOVE it. Every time I vape it I can't stop for most of the day.

We need to have a coiling session next time we're together! My dexterity is decent but my hands shake more as I get older and my eyesight is going. I can wrap good microcoils in spite of this by using magnification (lighted visor), good ambient light, and practice. I read and follow the main microcoil thread and learned a lot there earlier. I use a drill bit for my mandrel but it's a simpler process with one of the coiling gizmos that many use now.

Jerms started a thread in the tutorial forum to organize some of the coiling videos made by ECFers. Most posted there are very informative and some show that even older dudes can effectively wrap some mean coils.

It has been said before but vaping NETs without developing some coiling skills borders on masochism! I would be lost without being able to rebuild attys for maximum flavor extraction and performance on any gear.

I agree with you on wrapping ones own coils and such 100%. I also drool at the posted comments on the thread about the various drippers and coils etcetera.
It is totally awesome that you are volunteering to help me get the courage and confidence to build them next time we get together. Magnum here I come!

Checks in the mail, and order is placed. I ordered:Big Spirit, Black Cavendish, Coventry, and Balkan. I'm pretty stoked about it, these along with about 6 flavors I ordered from GeJ today will be my first travels into the true NET world.

That is, if you don't count HHV.

Black Cav is my of my favorites. I have Big Spirit and Coventry however have not tried them yet.

I was standing over my juices thinking, "which one should I try?" I was debating sweetness ratios and topping flavorings. Then I decided to go with that golden oldie I have been neglecting. I filled my Mini PT3 with Orlik and ,as my grandma would say, I'm pleased as a peach. No complex flavorings to sort through. No casings to grow weary of. There is just the luxurious taste of smooth Virginias with a nice dark perique body note. The perfect choice for an easy Sunday. Age simply makes this juice better every day.

Been vaping the RBFS that came in a couple days ago and first impression is WOW. Really happy with my purchase. The current one is Petner's Pipe. Really like the up front Virginia mixed with the Burley. What I really like is the rum finish of it which I taste more on the exhale. The tobacco and rum blend well together.

I discovered I really like rum in my tobacco. Go figure, quit drinking about 8 years ago, didn't like rum too much when I did drink, but love it in my tobaccos. Life is funny at times.

I was very impressed by my initial tasting of Petner's Pipe too. Are you picking up the raisin?

Will be moving all the new Fog sauces from storage to current rotation soon, next weekend at the latest, along with a bunch of other juices patiently waiting their turn.

Micros are great because they are both one of the simplest builds and also one of the best performing. Repeatable results are quite easy to achieve with micros too.

It's unfortunate that the thread only goes as far as March. More and more, people tend to be moving toward coiling directly from the spool with tension, without torching the wire first ( or even at the end ). Super X, who was one of the originators of the microcoil, is coiling this way now . MacTechVpr has been the biggest proponent of this system and he has converted a lot of people.

There's vids in that thread showing tensioned coils with the Gizmo. I was a fan of the Gizmo for a while, but have gone back to just wrapping on a nail. It's just so quick and easy for me doing it the old way. I actually prefer an imperfect coil with random small gaps to a perfectly tight coil. I never experienced the benefits proposed by Mac of a highly tensioned coil.

That's exactly it. Older threads with no new posts are closed and archived. They can still be referenced as required though. You ok with it staying closed? If required I can re-open it and move it to the Coil builds section of the forum. Let me know!
