I wanted to ask if anyone has used 2.5 micron lab filters to filter thier extracts with, and what the results were.

I have, and the results are good. No discernible flavor loss, and gunking is diminished/delayed over the 5-micron poly felt I used before and still employ as a first-stage filter using a French Press. 2.5-micron paper lab filters don't work well in the French Press, so I gravity filter the refined, clarified solvent using a regular funnel.

Welcome. You would do well to try GoodeJuice.com. Plenty of ciggy flavors to choose from in their NET section. Also Want2vape.com has a great selection of which Paris would probably fill the bill for you. I'm sure others will chime in with other selections but those two vendors are hard to beat for cigarette vapes. NET.com is the premiere goto for the best NET's out there. Pre-made or in concentrate.

Hello! New to this thread. Any must try flavors from net.com? I want a cigarette like flavor to vape when im out drinking.
thanks!

I was planning on using my homemade vaccum filtering set up....right now I've been using the vaccum to aid in filtering through a doubled up coffee filter.I have no idea how many microns a doubled up coffe filter would be.

Don't know about net.com but Morley and RockStar from Want 2 Vape are good as is Gaia from Heathers Heavenly Vapes - and many many more that the others will suggest too.

According to posts I've read here on ECF (which may indicate dubious authority, but that's true of just about every ), a standard drip coffee filter---whether pleated/fluted flat-bottom basket-type or Melitta conical, and whether single layer or doubled---filters down to 10-30 microns, depending on the individual filter. They're not laboratory filters, so quality and pore size varies substantially.

I've read other sources online (of equally uncertain authority and validity) that stated from 20-100 microns. In all my online reading about this question, I've never seen anyone suggest that a paper coffee filter is less than 10 microns.

For some of the new comers, why don't the home extractors, such as bill, let them know where they buy the lab papers and what kind of cost they may incur.
Bill is spot on about how little coffee filters actually filter out, not that some folks still enjoy the juice they produce.

I've shopped around and seen the filter from Ahlstorm, and whatman, but I've also seen a lab filter that is a glass fiber type lab filter....little hesitant about that one glass must give clean flavor, but I'm afarid of getting glass fibers in the juice..It's kind of a pain you have to buy the lab filters in increments of 100 though.

Ahlstorm 3 micron filters $11.85
Ahlstrom Qualitative Filter Paper, 3 micrometer Retention, Grade 237: Science Lab Qualitative Filter Paper: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

3 piece funnel set $5.25

That is all you need for the filtering portion if you have patience. So, just a little over $17 for everything if you have Amazon Prime. You could probably go to Wal Mart or Dollar General and get a single funnel cheaper.

I also order my PG from Amazon. It is a decent price, the quality is good, and I get free shipping. 1 pint is $7.79
http://www.amazon.com/Propylene-Gly...d=1415379241&sr=8-1&keywords=propylene+glycol

For glass bottles I order form Specialty Bottle - Wholesale Glass Bottles, Glass & Plastic Jars, Tins, Vials and for plastic bottles I ordered from Wizard Labs.

Well my box...yes, box arrived from MVJ yesterday. The Dunhill Early Morning and Ramon Bueso are STP so I'll try those now. Diane kindly sent a sample of Rocky Patel Vintage 90....and a mini Snickers...hehe.

It's New Coil Friday so it should be a good weekend. Will try and report on the previous MVJ juices I got a couple of weeks ago which I've been enjoying a great deal for different reasons.

Thanks for all y'all's help with suggestions.

I think your right when it comes to PG extractions, but VG extractions i think may need a little more help than gravity.

I use PG and VG together in various ratios for my extractions (as much as half VG), and gravity filtering works---it's slow but OK. If I were making extracts using 100% VG, I think heating the unfiltered solvent to reduce the viscosity would probably work to allow gravity filtering.

I ordered and received a few all vegetable glycerin juices from MVJ, as I am now allergic to PG. They are very good vapes!
I also started six room temp extractions today with 75% alcohol and 25% VG. YEAH!
I only used a 1/2 oz of tobacco, so if I make a mistake I'll try to correct it on my next extractions.
I am trying Mac Baren Dutch Burley, H&H Beverwyck [tobacco smells great], H&H El Nino [also great smell to the tobacco], Daugthers and Ryan Picayune, blending Perique and finally Cornell & Diehl Engine #99 which I loved the smell of the tobacco better than all the rest. I had to slap my hand and mouth to keep from shoving the entire ounce of engine #99 in my mouth, chewing and swallowing it......... :p

That really cracked me up man! Congrats!
I do need to learn extracting and DIY. I'm just now trying to build coils. One small step at a time!

I got a new batch from MVJ with a bunch of her new cigars and pipe tobaccos. I haven't vaped them yet and waiting to let them steep a bit but Diane's new extraction process certainly makes the juices look a lot darker! Really itching to try 2 of the Rocky Patels and the 5 Vegas cigar extracts I got.

Just got my box from MVJ today. Gonna be in Magma/Origen heaven tonight as I try these out. Bought 3 cigar (5 Vegas Classic Cigar, Gurkha Legend 2001, and La Perla Habana Black) and 4 pipe (Ashton Rainy Day, Borkum Riff Whisky Pipe, H&H Sig Stogie Pipe, and SPS Charlemane) vapes; she threw in another cigar (Man O war Ruinator) as a freebee. I love days like this when a new order from a company I never tried comes in. NET life Rocks!!

My freebee was Mavrodaphne which is described as a rich wine pipe tobacco. It's interesting because I can't find it on MVJ's site, I can only find the DIY flavor extract. So I'm really looking forward to trying this as well.
