Those are my feelings as well about the Dunhill Early Morning. Same quality of goodness and depth as the Dunhill Nightcap but opposite. Light vs. Dark.

Is it the Orientals that give it the sharp bite? That was very appealing.

Thanks for the review!

It may have been the Orientals. I have found that some blends have an inexplicable bite early on that disappears. It seems to be something used in the casing or processing of the original tobacco that passes through. There are a couple of different reasons you could be getting a bit of bite. If I remember correctly, the early bite in Dunhill is kind of an herbal/spice. I would think it is a combination of the Orientals and Latakia needing to age a bit.

Reading an old review it looks like early on the blend is more Latakia forward and with time the Virginia becomes the base flavor. So, I would hazard a guess that you're experiencing some Latakia spice.

I ordered a few new ones from RBFS which include Count Caramel, KillrY4, and Poet and Scholar. Kinda trying something new with the caramel and ry4 cause that normally isn't my thing; never got into the ry4 vapes. Not sure why I went that way but think it was the descriptions mixed with how much everyone raved about these before. Kinda wanted to try them since the caramel was from the tobacco casings and not an outside added flavor. In any event, really looking forward to trying them plus a few old favorites from them; Porch Rocker (enjoying that right now), Petner's Pipe, and DWIT. Got to agree with Mazinny, Thanks Miracles for the head up!!

I was able to take advantage of two of their hourly offers. I got 30mls of Fabulous & Burley, Count Caramel, KillY4, Pirate's Drunken ST, Dagwood's WT, St. James Parish, and Poet & Scholar. Like you, I am a big fan of Porch Rocker, and I also hold Admiral's Pipe in high regard as well.

Btw, Vaping Watch still has 15% off RBFS.

Glad to see several getting a good deal on RBFS during the VW sale! They make some of my all-time favorite NETs.

Don't forget there will be lots of great hardware and juice deals on Cyber Monday. Best time of the year to stock up on supplies. Great time to check out new vendors.. I prefer to find out I don't care for a line when it's 50% off lol.

I'm not participating this time because I'm well stocked, and more importantly, broke :) Christmas sales will be right around the corner.

Hey Mike
After reading this I opened Clay's Latakia for testing. (Btw, having become much less fumble-fingered with building I'm blown away by the flavor of the Magma.) You're right, that was what was giving the bite. At first test it was way too strong and I was thinking it'd be better for mixing. It settled down after a bit and was very smokey, little sweet and fully enjoyable.

Thanks!

p.s. I have the Dunhill Early Morning happening now.

I have to tap out. I've spent a small fortune these last two weeks. My wife was kidding with me last night that she thinks I get some kind of thrill from all these deals.

I suspect she's right.

I went a bit mad with the RBT/RBD clones during the sale and yeah, definitely a thrill.

Vaping some MyVapeJuice Drew Estate, Meat Pie as I write.

DIY: 20pg/70vg/10dw 6mg., 20% flavor w/ 2 week steep....at 1.6 ohms in an IGO-L RDA only at 3w on a mini Sigelei.

Wow, this is some serious vape juice.

A heavy English blend of Virginia, Oriental, Latakia.

A rich, smokey full bodied vape that would go very well with a cuppa black tea, coffee or even a dark beer ( if I drank).
Makes me feel like I should put on some tweed and sit in front of a fire...did I mention how rich this is...it's so rich it's almost creamy, but too heavy to call it that, I can't find the right word to describe it's texture, just rich, rich and rich.

Highly recommended.

Can't wait to tuck into the DE Toasted Black Cavendish and MVJ Country Squire I've got steeping as well.

Meat Pie is actually Virginia, Oriental, Latakia. That is what makes it an English blend.

Currently vaping MVJ's Hearth & Home Signature Louisiana Red. Two types of Red Virginia combined with Perique. The Virginias taste like they would be right at home in an English Blend. They have that buttery an almost sticky sweetness without the citrus zing or grass flavor of brighter Virginias. The perique is plum, earth, and a bit of spice. It is a deep and mature mix that will satisfy Va/Per fans or English blend fans. I give it a solid four stars out of five.

One thing I did notice is that Johni's version seemed crisper and "clearer." There was more separation of the flavors. The MVJ version isn't as crisp, but it comes across more blended and more "whole." Both are good. It is just interesting to note the different results two people can get from the same base tobacco blend.
