You can avoid burning cotton if you use a mod with temp control.

NET's are typically pretty gunky due to the particulates and possibly the amount of natural sugars that are found in them. I typically could get through 3-5 ml before needing to change wicks and several tanks before needing to change coils. Your results will depend on the specific e-liquid as always.

In my RTA's I use contact microcoils for NETs, just because. But, some time ago I read in this thread (I think it was in this thread) that some folks commented that spaced macrocoils (3mm I think it was) resulted in less gunking and longer lives for wicks/coils. Haven't tried it yet, though it's on my list to do.

Hi ny13. I have tried 26gauge SS wire, 3mm ID at about .5ohms. Then I've also tried 28gauge SS wire, 2.5mm ID at about 1.2 ohms which I spaced. But unfortunately i still find things gunk and burn after about 10 puffs. It could be because i chain vape because I don't use nicotine.

There was a close out on Black Note at a juice website (they're all sold out now, so I'm not going back to remember which one it was) and since I've always been curious about Note, I picked up a bottle of Sonata, since it cost so little. Not bad at all. I like it. Clean for a NET, decent flavor, sweet enough for me and no ashtray taste. I'll get this again. I emailed Black Note asking which other flavor of theirs I'd like given liking Sonata. They suggested Forte.
Anybody else play with Black Note?

Normally, I've used 28g kanthal, 2.5mm id microcoil at around 1.4 ohms or so, 12mg nic, 50/50 juice. In a Berserker mini I can go a couple of tank fulls before it really gunks badly. 10 puffs ain't much. I wish I could provide more guidance.
Thanks ny. My only clue as to why i'm having this problem is my chainvaping. Or i'm jinxed.:(

Out of the ones they still sell, Sonata was my favorite. It had a pepper like finish which just made the juice pop for me. Forte was also real good, and I say that as someone who tends to stay away from NET's with just Burley. Have not had it in a while so I can not remember why I liked it but it was one where the bottle went quick.

They used to have a real good Turkish type which I can't remember the name for the life of me. That was my favorite but they discontinued that one. Never liked Prelude as it was real sweet and can't remember Legato. I have the Latakia one but never opened it as I really don't like Latakia anymore. Just thinking of it brings out my "yucky" face :(. Really never understood the why for a menthol NET so never had theirs.

Looks like AV uses both VG and PG in Boba's now. And I can tell it is not near as thick as it used to be back in the day.

I didn't realize this. That's a potent mix, or juice mfgs. don't follow food labeling protocol. Or, maybe they list nicotine first to protect themselves?

I can vape most NET tobaccos, even if I'm not crazy about them. But, Latakia? Had one vape of one, and down the drain it went. Don't even recall why. Just recall telling myself to never get another Latakia.

So I'm still deciding on my second order with HHV, I've tried DF, Huntsman and Temptation. They are all very good with DF being my top flavour. So for my next order I think I've decided on getting Legend and Sludge to try (small bottles) and I keep looking at the Georgia peach tobacco, it sounds like it would be a very different flavour.
Any thoughts?

I didn't care for Georgia Peach but what do I know? Try it. It's a non-NET. I suspect you'll get around to trying them all eventually anyway. :) One of HHV's more popular non-NETs is Heavenly Tobacco. It's like an RY4. It has a strong fan base. Another NET you might want to give a shot at is Heavenly Army and Shadow. Both have a creamy base. HA is more a grahamish top note and Shadow is more vanilla-like.

Thanks rdsok. The reason I ask is I find the cotton burns quite quickly, and the coil starts to get gunky after only 10 puffs or so. I have tried 26gauge SS wire, 3mm ID at about .5ohms and alsu tried 28gauge SS wire, 2.5mm ID at about 1.2 ohms. I set it at 10 watts with the air flow quite narrow. I use a single coil. I've used a Narda rda, and a Haku Venna rda. I can get these to work in a MTL way when I narrow the air flow holes. I've been doing this for a while but find I have to change the cotton and clean the coils several times per session. I've used different brands of NETs. I'm starting to think that part of the problem is that I don't use nicotine, so I have a tendency to chain vape a bit which might speed up the gunk/burn factor.

I still use silica sometimes for NETs lol

I find it doesn’t gunk up as quick as cotton. Hemp and flaxseed paper could work well with NETs as well.
