Luce, wise sir, a clarification if you please:

In the second post of this here thread, you referred to Patriot as "Aromatic Pipe". Now you describe it as "non-aromatic". Has the juice changed, or your opinion? I ask sincerely since I have only ever been on the receiving end of pipe smoke (dad smoked Balkan Sobranie sometimes) and the strict definitions of aromatic versus non- have been known to elude me :D

Whoops! Patriot is exactly the same as when I first tried it. I incorrectly said in my first review that it was aromatic, which is usually associated with a tobacco being soaked in a fruit/anything flavor. Patriot does not taste that way so it would classified as non-aromatic.

That sounds good, too. Is there an online shop that carries a variety of NETs from different makers, or do you pretty much have to order directly from each place?

Direct from each! Honestly, they are all so different, it would be awesome if there was a secondary NET store that was an authorized dealer of them all. While this thread is somewhat popular, the market just isn't there on a large enough scale.

VM, I really think, based on some of your earlier comments, could start out with Wrangler Lite from GoodeJuice's House Brewed Line. That one is going to start to introduce some flavor, some real tobacco, but it won't be earth shatteringly different from cigarettes. I think if you go too far in one direction, it may cast an uncompromising cloud over a whole category of juices that don't even carry similar flavor profiles. The thing with NETs is that once you get a taste and start to uncover the difference, you start getting your footing and an appetite for the more exotic.

We may all tell you to start with something different, but we won't tell you wrong.

Maybe that's a good idea, Mr.Mann. I haven't really asked about the room note on these either. Too "exotic" and I'm back out in the cold. My Ramback Turkish tobacco, for instance, didn't taste like dirty socks at all...but it did smell kind of like dirty socks...

See, that is the thing about GeJ. Some of those juices do very much have that essence. The thing is, once you start getting more and more into it, it won't be a bad thing, but rather, just a marker of some tobacco. I will say that putting some of those GeJ juices into a genesis atty made the "dirty sock" note the dominant and all encompassing note. There is a flavor, a subtle hint of cocoa, in Wrangler Lite that supersedes that funkiness and allows it to be there, which could assist in acclimation, without it being aggressive. Generally, that specific note comes from more of the PG (or PG/VG) maceration NETs.

VaporMizer, welcome to the hunt.

p.s. The GeJ juices that have that note that you are leery of (in order of intensity) --

The most : Wild Turkey, Acadian Gold, Natural Perique (Natural Perique when in season has more flavor that trumps that note, but as of the colder months, it is in this group)

Some: *Patriot, *Vita Bella, Organic Tobacco #1

Even less to hardly any: *GJ4, Fire Cured, *Apple Cured, *Wrangler Lite

All those juices with an asterisk have other flavors (maybe just one) that are not tobacco. Patriot and Wrangler Lite have the softest most restrained addition of "other" flavors, while Fire Cured is straight, strong and intense tobacco without any funk or notes reminiscent of anything other than tobaccos. The same could be said about Oragnnic Tobacco #1, it has a little more funk, or gaminess to it.

Ha! Just like with regular tobacco...all my favorites are the stinkiest!!

Is the fire cured Burley or Virginia? I actually like the taste of bright Virginias the best, but found Burley easier to smoke regularly. Really, even for pipe, the traditional American cigarette blend of mostly Burley with some Virginia and just a bit of Turkish never got old to me...yeah, that's probably closest to that Wrangler I bet. Is there just the lite or is there a full flavor Wrangler?

Flue-cured Gold Leaf, and unnamed "dark-fire cured tobacco processed by the Perique method", with some Latakia. Latakia, is one of those leaves --as I am sure you know-- that adds some serious intensity to the impact of flavor.

I know I've smoked blends with Latakia in it, and I think it's those chunky little cube cut pieces, but I've never smoked it in isolation, so all I really remember about it is that it can be sort of bitter if there's a lot of it.

Well..might go with the Wrangler and maybe the Fire Cured to start, then. Anything else and I'd probably be vaping outdoors.

Thanks to all!

VENDOR: The Plume Room
JUICE: Ramaglia's Toscano Blend, 50%VG, 18mg, received 25 October

THOUGHTS: This is such an unusual E-liquid. I think this might be a combination of NETs with other tobacco flavorings, possibly tobacco absolute? Now a little TA goes a long way with me.... vendors who use it indiscriminately risk that "fuzzy", indistinctly dirty flavor. Andrea of TPR adds just enough to give it a lovely leafy sharpness, but grounded in the rich fullness of a very high quality natural extract. If you've tried Halo's Bella Valente, try imagining it with a natural extract, and that is Toscano. Every once in a while a peep of luxurious sweetness can be detected but overall this is not too sweet. Blending is the key. I'm tasting actual fresh tobacco with every inhale.

My previous notes about the general quality of TPR liquids still apply ( profuse, silky, rich vapor and clear strong flavors, but kinda tough on equipment)

Overall a splendid cigar flavor and one for the NET lovers to try in short order. With A+ and HHV closed for the immediate future, if you're jonesing for something new, why not try TPR?

Full disclosure: I am not paid or otherwise compensated by TPR (I WISH!). Just a fan.

I was just sniffing around for companies that made NETs. Looked at one (Vapes4You), apparently a European company. They made it a point to say they use naturally extracted ingredients so I look and saw only six juices. Which is fine. But the first one is called U.S. Red and their angle is it tastes just like a real cigarette (obviously trying to piggyback on the Marlboro success). Is it just me or are there others who are immediatly turned off when a vendor desperately tries to convince me they have an exact cigarette vape? A) I don't know anyone who ever has come close to a real cig, B) I don't want a real cig. As soon as I read that description, I was gone.

I hear you, and I also would seriously doubt that those liquids are NETs as we know them.

Latakia is generally only put into juices with a delicate hand -- it is rarely used. Pleas let us know how those work for you.

p.s. I always recommend the juices (all NETs from GeJ) in high nic. Their nic isn't strong, but it does IMO add a good deal to the flavor. Ahlusion, on the other hand, can be at 12 mg and not really miss beat from the 24 mg.

That site doesn't even let you pick your nic level!

And what exactly does "not chemically mixed mean"?

Ha...I know. I laughed over that one too. I think they offer only one PG/VG ratio too. I can't remember. I saw the Marlboro, Winston, and Camel knockoffs and I was outta there. :)

That would make Scarf's Monte Cristo experiment look delicious. :)

By the way, this thread is about to hit another millenial.

It is actually pretty durn good by the way. Not something I vape all the time but definitely a strong and macho tobacco.;)
