I'll bet that Mr.M and I are pretty much together on this one, but I won't presume to speak for him, just for myself. Mr.M can chime in if he wishes.

I went through a very hot love affair with Gandalf this past summer. Like any lover would, I extolled its virtues to the skies. Check my post history if you need confirmation of that, but it's probably easier if you just trust that I'm telling the truth. But, as happens in many hot love affairs, my passion gradually cooled. By mid-Autumn, Gandalf and I were no longer "jumping into the vape sack together" nearly so often. We're still friends, but we've both moved on. I still speak of Gandalf with fondness, but these days my eyes are clearer rather than clouded over by infatuation. Gandalf is a fruity dessert vape way more than a tobacco juice, in my opinion, a hybrid NET with numerous other flavorings. Nothing wrong with that, but it is what it is.

I might be wrong, but I'd theorize that you're engaged in an ongoing affair with Gandalf, so naturally you might resent anything I say about my ex-beloved, who happens to be a current squeeze of yours. That's OK, too, and completely understandable. By all means, enjoy the heck out of the relationship, and please accept my apologies if what I wrote rubbed you the wrong way. Perhaps you'll marry Gandalf and make beautiful little Voltron-Gandalf babies. Perhaps not. Time will tell.

I have to tell you, though, that your shaming me falls on deaf ears. LOL. You may not have liked what I wrote, but that doesn't make it false, especially since we're discussing opinions rather than objective facts. On the other hand, if your post was light-hearted and joking, then you got me, and my face will be red when I find out.
Sorry BH but "fruity dessert vape"? This coming from the man that owns every ry4 ever made and Frankenjuices tobacco juices with creme brulee? LOL

Beyond that, however, NETs have completely won me over. I hardly ever vape unmodified BH or Gold anymore. Gold does have a great throat hit, but the lack of any true tobacco taste puts me off (I've been coming to feel almost---not quite, but almost---the same way about HHV Gandalf.

While I've vaped a lot of both Gold and BH through 2011 into early 2012, I doubt that I'll be reaching for them nearly as often from now on. The evolution of my palate/tastebuds/brain has simply moved away from them toward NETs, and there's no room for them in my suitcases for this next leg of my vaping journey.

I feel almost the same way Bill. While NLV has good juice for what it is, after using GeJ NETs how could I go back to the sweet stuff? Only TOBACCO for me...

I have now been enjoying Wrangler, Fire Cured, Patriot and Wild Turkey for 2 weeks... And I have to say these juices are freakin' amazing. If you like unadulterated tobacco flavor... Tobacco and tobacco only. Definitely make sure to check these out. There are a couple more on my list from Goodejuice, that I will be ordering sooner than later, wow :vapor:

What kind of tobacco do you like more? Cigarette, cigar, pipe, or chewing? Just so I get a better idea of what flavor the juices you mention have. Are they similar to W2V's?

I think he was referring to the 4 in my list... Basically they could be roughly classified as follows:
- Wrangler Lite is like a high end cigarette, sort of like a Nat Sherman MCD maybe? They have the faintest, almost unnoticeable cocoa flavor that is infused in the mild tobacco prior to be extracted.
- Wild Turkey is sort of like a Nat Sherman Turkish Oval cigarette (I don't think they sell these anymore?) to me, but could also be considered an Oriental pipe. It hits pretty hard, but has a great spicy flavor to it.
- Patriot is a strong, rich pipe blend that seems to have a hint of clove cigarette like taste, at least to me, but the tobacco is deep and in your face.
- Fire Cured has a sweet, wood smoke flavor, and could again be cigarette, used in a pipe blend or even used in chew. It has a light flavor, not as light as Wrangler, but hits like a bomb.

Thanks a lot for the info. I think I'm gonna have to place a second order from GeJ this week. :)

How "carto-friendly" do you consider these juices to be?

I have not used them in a carto, but they are a 50/50 mix and are really clean for a NET... So I can't imagine you would have any problems?

I actually use clearos, but I use the term "carto friendly" because if it doesn't work well in a carto, it probably won't work well in a clearo or atty. I have some GJ4 and Apple Cured that I haven't vaped yet, do you think these juices will give me a good idea about the general quality of GeJ's NETs? Your descriptions have made me curious about some of the other flavors.

They have worked well for me in cartos (clear DCCs and F16 carto tanks), but they do tend to tar up and burn in clearos (T2 and T3). Just in my experience.

GJ4 rocks and I really love Patriot and Vita Bella too. Honestly I find Perique, Acadian Gold, Wild Turkey and Wrangler to be kind of interchangeable. Not bad, but if you have one, you kinda don't need the others. Just my opinion.

nomoto,

Oh, I wish I owned every RY4 ever made. Not even close. Yes, I’ve reviewed more than 100 of them, but that’s probably less then half the RY4s available in the marketplace.

As for W2V Crème Brûlée, have you tried mixing some with W2V Managua? All the Vapenstein blends are aggressive, big flavors, like Mack trucks. W2V’s Crème Brûlée (a burnt cream custard in real cuisine) is very subtle and a good mixer, somewhat akin to BWB Malty. It doesn’t so much sweeten the Managua as soften its impact and add a little creaminess. If you haven’t tried it, don’t knock it.

Also, my Gandalf might be different than yours. I have the original recipe, with the bumped-up flavoring that Mr.Mann recommended at the time. I don’t know how the newer versions taste. Mine has a tobacco base that I can recognize easily, but it’s clearly a blend with numerous other flavors. I taste flavors that my brain identifies as raisin, prune, and dark cherry (that’s the fruit). And while many juices are sweeter than Gandalf, it’s definitely not a straight or pure NET. No one would mistake it for Huntsman or Dark Horse.

How does your Gandalf taste?

I agree that there are many different flavor notes which give Gandalf a wonderful complexity but it's definitely first and foremost a tobacco. I find it to be very similar to my favorite GeJ, Vita Bella.
My favorite juice, atm, is Serendipity which is the same flavor infused pipe tobacco as Gandalf only with a longer extraction time. Incredibly good with an amazing vapor aroma.

Nomo, so true. As I said in the HHV thread, I neither want nor am looking for an "all-day vape" since I crave variety. But if I had to rescue one juice only from my burning home, it would be Serendipity. It flips so many switches: tobacco, sweet dessert, coffee, tea.

Thankfully I don't have to make that decision. LOL.

By the way, I recently tried my first taste of Gandalf: The Early Years at 1 week old. It is definitely fruitier than Serendipity and lighter in texture. I like it, quite a bit actually, but it can't approach Dip in my affections. Yet. I will to continue to wait on it.

Hey Mr.Mann, let me get this straight...you consider Gandalf and HHV's tobaccos to be TINO? Let me remind you that Gandalf was your first official "universal" juice recommendation Mr.Shifty. I know your taste changes dramatically depending on the time of the month, but c'mon bro! ;)

I also have a bone to pick with Mr.Herb. You mention Gandalf in the same sentence as Bounty Hunter and Gold? Shame on you!

Hey Voltron. I don't think Mann said anything about HHV tobac's being TINO's. IIRC, he was just highlighting myself, Skinnie and scarf's love for straight unadulterated NET's. HHV was not part of the discussion at the time, but Scarf and I are both known to vape our fair share of HHV. Either which way, it seems as though you're starting to develop a man(n)-crush.

Ok so here is what Nicole from AIV sent me regarding her first two NET's, Pearship and Stark Winter.

Pearship is a blend with natural flavors and our in-house naturally
extracted tobaccos. We use several types, and in different ratios,
generally blending lighter more organic flavors with more hearty and
darker flavors. The tobacco does come out more strongly with time.
It has also natural pear and other flavors. It is a flavor to be
enjoyed on a Pear-shaped Airship, an imaginary, rich victorian-sort of
zepplin. It is somewhere around half VG.

Stark winter is another blend, with a bit different combination of our
in-house naturally extracted tobaccos. The idea behind it is a vape
that both reminisces of a cold Portland winter, the forest, the frost
found on a cold winter day, and gives comfort of the warm hearth, warm
spiced delights, and family. It has both natural flavors and our
tobacco. It is not a strict NET because it has other flavors too, but
it is based around the tobacco flavor. It has a similar ratio to
Pearship, a bit more PG :)

This is kindof where we are at with our Tobacco flavors right now, we
are experimenting with blends, because there are many fine vendors who
offer gorgeous straight NETs so we have enjoyed working our vaperly
culinary craft towards some unique blends :)

Boy, those both sound really good! Too bad I'm so leery of high-VG juices (even at 50/50). :(

LMAO Nick! I know he didn't mention HHV explicitly, but you have to learn to read between the lines dude. It's clearly present in the "sub-text". No need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. :p

Regarding my "Mann-crush", I'll tell you one thing: the honeymoon period is officially over! My heart has been irreparably broken, and I want OUT! I'll be seeking FULL custody over any Gandy left under Mr.Mann's possesion. ;) :D

Hi all! This is my first try using tapatalk so here goes. I've posted on efc a little bit a while back. Last couple months I've been reading a few a the really long threads but just as a lurker.

This has been one of the few and I want to share how
much this thread has helped guide me on my vaping journey. I appreciate so much all of the info on nets in here. So many I would like to personally thank but I'll just stick to Luce for creating this wonderful thread.

I absolutely love nets but am still somewhat a rookie with them. So far I've had nets from Goodejuice, Ahlusion, HHV, and The Plume Room. Looking forward to joining in on the discussion instead of just reading!
