I just needed to stop in and give enormous props to our dear Ace of Scarf for some of her recent extractions. This woman knows her tobacco! In our little vape meet on Sunday she blessed me with two Samuel Gawith pipe blends, and they are stellar. The extracts are quite strong and make for a very realistic presentation. No inhaling necessary!

The first, St James Flake, is a scrumptious and slightly floral Virginia flake pressed with a pinch of authentic Perique. It's a sweet and mellow blend, with the sour fruit and spice of the Perique peeking out only occasionally. A great anytime vape, and extremely real!

The second, Scotch Cut, is a much more complex blend. The Latakia runs the show, while the VA, Burley and Black Cavendish all fight for second fiddle. As much as I love the Latakia, I don't quite like this blend as much as the first. There is a bit too much background noise going on for my tastes. This is not a strike against Scarf - she managed to capture all the character of this blend - it's more of a strike against the blender for its choice of tobaccos. It's still a very good vape though, and a unique gem to have around. Again, because of the strength of the extract, a very real pipe experience.

Amazing work, Scarf.

[hint]I wonder if she would ever, ever consider making an extract of Carter Hall...[/hint]

Scarf-ace's extraction method is fully revealed in her thread:

Slow Cooker Extraction of Tobacco and Tea

No special equipment involved, so you could try DIY if you wanted to.

Placed an order today for Ahlusion aros Smokin' Cherries and Sweet Georgia Peach (with free sample of Blue Fairy). To say I'm excited to try these aromatics is putting it mildly. It'll be a little bit because of their long process times lately, but "no steeping needed" should be gloriously written on it for instant consumption.

Also picked up an IGO-S and Smoke Tech RDA from EmpireMods. $13.99 and $8.99 respectively. Good price for the hard to find in stock IGO-S for those interested.

Nice, Jerms! Those two juices are in my top ten - not that that says much, because my top ten is 70% Ahlusion aromatics  Still, I think you'll dig 'em. I fell in love instantly with SGP last week. So good.

I'm vaping Devil Dog now trying to imagine an aro with peach or Cherry. Not working, the Dog has too much personality for me to play games like that with him. I'm sure that like Vurley these will turn out to be there own juice.

In my land of Ahl aro make-believe, DD is a gruff, badass Marine; BGB is just as tough, but less likely to punch you in the face for giving him the stink-eye; Vurly is BGBs sexy, seductive mistress. I'm thinking Smokin Cherries may be the gruff, but also wise and tender Grampa and SGP may be the sweet Southern bell, but I'll have to meet them and let them tell me who they are.

PS, don't tell my psychiatrist anything I just said

Aw thanks Nick. Most kind of you. I think you have the last of those particular two....but there is more of the Cuban cigar if anyone wants it. I am in Boston for the next few days but I promise to do my best to send some out before I leave.

PM sent.

Scarf, as someone who's made macerations of Cubans, would you say HoL Cuban juices do a pretty close job of what you come up with? I really don't know if most Cubans have a distictive taste that sets them apart or if there are many different types of Cuban Cigars.

Hi everyone! I'm really new to this vaping (2 weeks) but I'm loving it, I quit cigarettes after the first vape and love it much more that the analogs for it's flavor as well as for it's "clean" throat hit. I've always loved a good cigar, specially dominicans, and I am a big fan of tobacco, just don't care to smoke it anymore. I have read about 100 pages of this tread and thanks for your amazing info and reviews I decided to get some HHV (serendipidy, Legend and Huntsman) but I've been reading that thees kind of liquids tend to destroy the equipment, i just bought a ego c twist batt and have 1 clearomizer and one on it's way (2.2 ohms ) but thinking that this probably isn't the best for the NETs...
so my question is Is it better a carto than a clearo? how much will my clearomizer last under this NETs, best voltage to use, I'm not really sure

HHV ( Heather's Heavenly Vapes ) and GeJ ( GoodeJuice ) are actually pretty clean and should not gunk the coils as much as some NET's such as perhaps the W2V ( Want2Vape )...

I'm also pretty new to the NET's... so hopefully the following is correct... MOV ( Mountain Oak Vapor ) and A+ ( Ahlusion ) are a couple of other brands I think mentioned for being clean vapes... There were probably others, but retaining a lot of new info is taxing at times...

About equipment in general... For eGo type batteries, you will likely want to keep the ohms between 2.0 and 3.2... anything more may be a bit taxing on the battery. Using a variable voltage will help you tweak the power output but you'll want to do the math with each different ohm carto, clearo, atty that you use. The reason why is so you can set the power output to the wattage you prefer. When you know the voltage you like on a certain ohms vaporizer... you can calculate the wattage range you prefer. It's all about the watts ( ie power ).

Each vaporizer and each liquid will differ what power output you will prefer on them... but knowing the range will help you pick your carto, clearo and/or atty... then you can adjust the voltage according to your own preferences.

They usually don't recommend rebuildeable atty's for an eGo ... but they are the best thing to use ( IMO ) since you can clean the coils on them a little easier... If you try one... get a multimeter so you can check the ohms before you put it on the eGo... Going with an APV that has the functions to show you the ohms of the vaporizer, the wattage/voltage etc will make it easier in the long run since you wouldn't require a separate multimeter to test with then.

Welcome, RG. Glad to have another quitter among us. ;) The clearos should hold up fine with the HHV juices. They're some of the cleanest and best performing juices in this category. They're just not SUPER tobacco-like. They're all rather sweet. Once you start venturing out to the other vendors that offer the most authentic cigar and pipe tobacco vapes, you're likely to start ruining ANY atty/carto/clearo you decide to use. You'll definitely want to have spares around and have a regular cleaning and maintenance routine.
