Thanks Jerms, I just found a great eBay supplier of Kanthal so will be trying to 30 gauge some time soon. I guess my Kanthal gauge will match my silver's.

A question: I usually just eyeball my 32 gauge coils and they end up pretty much on the spot; 4 times around 2mm wire on my Eternity and 3 times around 2 2mm wicks on my Terminator-C. How many more wraps would I do to make the equivalent with 30 gauge? I don't use any mods with built in ohm-readers and don't really trust my multimeter for coils (time to get alligator clips).

What mods do you use? My 5/4 wraps of 30 on 3mm silica is pretty low at 1.1. I think other's get more around 1.5 with 5/4 wraps, so I can't account why mines lower. I'm going to try doubling my wick to see if I can get it above 1.2 ohm to work on my VAMO. I don't want to do any more wraps, because with the thicker wire it can be less reactive with heat up time unless raising the watts a lot too. Either way, you may want less ohms anyways since you'll need more watts to provide the same temp as the 32 gauge.

I just got 3 NET's from MOV. How long should they steep and is it even worth it to even give them a try right now? The three I have are Sunday Morning, Southern Gentleman, and Pendragon.
Hi MG and welcome. Mov makes juice in large batches and pre-steep it to a degree. Interesting to read their take on steeping on their website which says it's ready to vape when you get it. I usually give it a week but it really doesn't change much IMO. Try it now, put it away if it doesn't taste balanced to you, vape on if it does. Look forward to hearing your impressions.

Edit: I get no alcohol or chemical taste from MOV so I don't even do a caps off period.

Thanks for the tips, Jerms. Experimentation is definitely in order.

Yeah me too. It was only the first one I did with this gauge. I want to do another one, but even after 3 days very heavy use, multiple dry-burns, one rinse, and hours today with dirty W2V, it's still almost like new. I even torched the wick again and it came out white and no breaks. I think the thicker wire may not dig into the silica and break it at the coil during dry-burns like thinner wire seemed to.

Well... should have waited but I went ahead and ordered a Sample pack from MyVapeJuice...

I have all of the original's of My Hero, Rogue and Salvage at 30/70 PG/VG. Perhaps I will feel that one ( or more ) will work well with menthol. I'm also checking out my thoughts that a higher VG ratio will give me a heavier/thicker vapor feel that I believe I may be missing currently with the ones that are more PG. Again, I didn't order menthol just so I can better tell the flavor notes involved in each.

First impression: CI Cigar from Want2Vape

I've been vaping CI most of the day, the longest I've stayed on one juice for a while. It's extracted from Drew Estate's ACID Cold Infusion Tea cigar. I smoked the cigar yesterday and this really confirms for me well-done NETs are eerily close to the same experience as smoking the counter-part. Not exact, a couple pretty noticable differences, but still very, very close. If someone doesn't like the cigar they won't like this juice.

The tobacco leaves used in this cigar are infused with flavors using a process that I haven't been curious enough to look up. The result is flavors that are mostly new territory for my pallet. The cigar smells are botanical, the type of scents that reminds me of incense, which specific incense I have no idea. A cool thing about the cigar is the flavors smoked are less intense than the scent suggests, and plays more like a typical cigar than I expected, but still noticable enough to be a big player in the profile. I liked the cigar a lot, way more than Kuba Kuba, and I like the juice a lot too.

What seperates the juice from the cigar is the infused additional flavors play a bigger role. It tastes more like the cigar smells than the cigar does. The juice still does taste like a cigar NET, but has a whole different spetrum of flavors on top that really makes it love it or hate it. If someone says they hate this juice, I can see exactly why.

I had to vape it until I adjusted to the out-there flavors before I could figure out if I like it. It was never unpleasant, at the most just odd, but after settling in and becoming familiar with it I realized I do like it quite a bit, and wanted to continue vaping it. At first it seems like a novelty vape but it's not, just goes a different direction than what I'm used to for tobacco. I do plan on ordering a bigger bottle because it's a fun vape to mix things up and is complex enough to stay interesting.

Gentlemen,

I am on my last few drops of Highbrow's tabac de Perique. It will be sorely missed until Highbrow goes back online. In the meantime, the Vita Bella and Natural Perique from GoodeLiquid will be here soon. I hope this will be a good first foray into NETs. None of the fruit flavors I have tried after getting used to the Highbrow Perique have satisfied my palate. I think I am well and truly hooked!

Cheers! :toast:

Jerms,

glad ya liked this one, especially since they are a bit pricy

good comparison, eerily close, definitely unique and it does grow on you doesn't it :)

Yes definately one not to be dismissed too soon. What I like is for what I paid for a cigar that I can enjoy for an hour, I can buy nearly the same experience and enjoy for a lot longer. Actually a better experience, since a session vaping doesn't stink up my clothes, apartment, breath, and doesn't leave me feeling a little off afterwards. Sometimes there's flavors that when I think about them I want to vape them right then, and CI seems like it will be like that.

My fingers are crossed for The "Blond". The Blondie cigar smells more potpourri-like than CI, which I'm guessing translates to the ejuice. Might take longer for that one before deciding on it.

And you just HAD to pick two of the longest steepers :p

Hope they work for you when fresh. Vita did for me, but that one get's put away for months by a lot of people. NP may hit the spot too fresh, just more mild than what it will be later. Those were actually the first 2 I ordered that I knew were NETs going into it, and started my passion for them.

Before you get out The Blond, turn off the lights, light some candles, close your eyes and play this. No need for the incense, The Blond takes care of that!

Lol, video isn't available on mobile phone but I'm guessing it's some chill meditation music. Ommmmmmmmmm. I may dig into Blond in a couple days. The CI wasn't as rough on my coil as I was expecting, seemed about the same as other NETs. It is one of the lighter colored ones though. I vaped it a good 7 hours without drop in performance.

one of the negatives of vaping is that it doesn't translate the changes between the first third, second third and finish of this cigar ... different notes appear and the cigar transforms, the core tobacco comes to the front and, and, I won't ruin it for you Jerms

but I will say who'd a thunk some of the notes would blend as well as they do ... especially with all the herbs, oils and botanicals already in it ... I'll be curious to see what ya pick out of this ... enjoy

So I finally got around to trying out Ahlusion's House Blend and Maple house blend. I really liked house blend, I am not good at picking out the notes, but it had some pretty nice throat hit for only 6mg and 100% vg. It definitely tastes dry, and smokey. Maple HB is pretty much the same, except it has the sweetness of maple added. The maple definitely went well with a Bulliet Bourbon on the rocks earlier.

Yeah, when I'm in the mood for some CI, I can vape that stuff for quite a while. Its complexity keeps it interesting for a very long time.

Nice essay by the way Jerms. I'm really starting to come around with silica. I absolutely hated it two or three months ago when I got my first rebuildable. I'll be sure to try the braided wick and some 30 gauge. Is that the stuff you got from KindeyKicker the other day?

Very true, not only the complexity keeps it interesting, but none of the notes seemed to fade from a longer exposure. Out of the notes listed in the description pine is the only one I recognized. The peach and green tea were hidden for me, but mostly my brain was telling me; this is new, no links available yet. As I was vaping I varied between mindless vaping and curious thought.

The wire I got from KidneyPuncher and the wick from RTDvapor. All they say about it is it's from Germany, and $10 for 10ft. I wouldn't have realized it was braided from their description but Thrasher suggested it in the RBA section. It's definately different, like a bunch of really small twisted strands braided together. Hard to explain, but it's like the braid doesn't matter since the end I cut off for a wick was unraveled and it was like wrapping a coil around over a dozen small strands. For whatever reason it's really durable. I'll take a picture of it next to regular silica.

Both pictures the 3mm braided silica is above the 2mm twisted silica.

Jerms: Well great minds think alike and make similar mistakes! I will see how they are when fresh. The Highbrow Perique has definitely gotten more funky in the month I have gotten it. I hope they're good out of box, though.

And a heads up to Nick: you're PMs are full! :p

As for the silica, $1/ft seems very expensive, imo. I you're willing to wait out ~11 days, eBay has some great offerings for cheaper (PM me for details).

It is expensive, but I was in a hurry for good silica. When I need to reorder I'll do it from eBay but I'll want to figure out who carries the exact same stuff overseas. Since I used about only an inch in my tiny IGO-S this 10 ft will last a long time though.
