VapeRite and BackwoodsBrew were the first natural tobacco juices I purchased, back in late 2010, with Want2Vape soon after, in early 2011. I still don't know for sure if Don at BWB uses macerated NETs, and---if so---which specific BWB tobacco blends use them. I've read that Don is very tight-lipped about his juice ingredients, but perhaps someone here knows. Anyway, I think of Todd at VR and Donley at w2v as early pioneers of NETs.
That said, the hard truth is that, while I have great admiration for Todd, the only VapeRite NET I've ever truly loved was VR4, with that rich, gooey caramel. All the other NET juices I've tried from VR were just so-so and didn't thrill me. I've had a somewhat higher happy-happy ratio with w2v NETs, but generally speaking, I must confess that the number of NET-based retail juices I actually go crazy over remains fairly small, maybe only 10-20% of all I've purchased or been sent for free. The other 80-90% vary from great-but-not-for-me through pretty good to OK and not-so-hot.
In fairness, though, the same breakdown applies for all the juices I've ever vaped of any flavor---retail or my own DIY. A few are to-die-for, but most juices just don't thrill me.
I'm not sure if that says more about me or the juices. Probably both.
Oddly enough, now that I've made my own home-brewed NET and am doing mostly DIY for new juices these days, I find that I'm gradually re-introducing synthetic tobacco flavorings into some of my NET mixes with tasty results. Who'd a thunk it? I guess what goes around comes around.
