Well, nutty in the sense of tobacco nuttiness, not necessarily 555 nutty, though I think those liquids were the precursor to me liking 555 liquids. The one that made it really possible was River Tree Blends from Ahlusion. Still one of my favs (Peach River Tree) and it is most slept on.

Ahh, the hell with it, they are nutty. But I liked Puros a lot.

HH.357 and the test is underway. Will update as I go.

Puros: Yep, there's a nut flavor. Not overwhelming. "Feels" like a cigarette, but not an American one, if that makes sense. Light color liquid. Going to let this one steep.
Virginia Prime: Getting general sweet, almost maple on the front. Touch of nut on the back. Dark liquid. I could see myself liking this one.
Reserve: Nice bite - what I call "peppery". Smoky, dense, very good. I had to look up what I was tasting because I couldn't place it - light oak frontside and brandy backside, just like they claim. Damn, this is good at first vape..a "kick back and contemplate" liquid. Don't even try to chain vape this - you won't be able to, and won't want to, anyway. At this stage, a definite re-order.

Dinner call. This ends Part the First :)
Next up: Cigarillos

Here's the Indigo Vapor review for those of you that are interested. I enjoyed all three juices covered, especially Captain Oohrah. All told, I was impressed by these lab-baccos and could see some people confusing them for NETs.

If you recall, when I first tried them I ran in hear shouting from the rooftops about a 'New NET'. I don't know how they do it, but they make a seriously good lab-bacco.

I always thought Cigarillos Naturales was like a 555 but without being called that. I like the nuttiness of that and Puros, it's not the greasy residue-in-the-bottom-of-a-bowl-of-mixed-nuts- nuttiness, but like freshly toasted nuts.

You want major pastry-like nuttiness, House of Liquid's Ebaron sub-brand makes the ne plus ultra of almond tobaccos: Cigare de Paris. It smells like marzipan but tastes glorious. And of course they also make the greatest coffeebacco on earth: Brasileiro.

I'm not quite so keen on Virginia or Guevara, but they're not bad. I have to give the Cellar juices a try soon.

I was regretfully not all that pleased with the HoL Papillon Organic Tobacco. It had a most unfortunate undertone of soy/miso. :( It has been a while so I might try it again.

Plume Room Honey Fig -

Ok, first puff I got a lot of honey and said to myself, "oh no. I should have known better. now I remember why i didn;t like A+ Honey Cured" There is an odd thing that happens between honey and tobacco for me that makes it too funky for my taste. Like I said before, some thing that seem like a natural pairing (honey tobacco) dont taste so good if not done well while other that sound abhorrent (banana tobacco) seem to really click. Well, 2nd vape and I said..."mmmm, this is oddly refreshing!" Third and on MIGHT be love at 3rd vape. I need a couple days with this but I really like it. Perfect balance sweetness and something about the fig essence rounds out the funkiness of the honey/tobacco combo. See, I wanted to try this because "fig" seemed like such an odd choice that I figured it was used SPECIFICALLY to countermand the honey funkiness I dont care for in honey tobaccos. At least I hoped that was the case. Here, whether by design or happenstance, that is EXACTLY what happens. it doesn;t hurt that it is mixed with a really nice, medium bodies tobacco with a good natural feeling TH. I really like this stuff I think. If so it will be the firsty truly "sweet" (though not cloyingly so) tobacco vape outside of an RY4 variant that I have ever liked. The way the fig manages the honey here is really a work of genuis and the end result is an extremely pleasant Summer afternoon vape!

Yes. Reserve is good. And for all those that say "steeping eliquid in an oak barrel does nothing," I say check the difference in the "same" liquids of HoL. i.e., non-oak barrel steeped vs oak barrel steeped. Oh, there is a difference. Yes it is.

Gorgeous. Funny you mention Maha Ras. I just got 205ml of it today. Along with 175ml of Agent Orange. :glare: What is wrong with me?

Can you give a Jerms style review of Maha Ras just to humor me? If not, what are your very basic thoughts on it?

Also, is that a K100 in the first pic? I know it's a K1xx, but not sure on the specific model. It's a beaut. I may relegate my Atmizoo Roller to backup for one of those just to keep the Roller safe.

On a NET note Analog form GeJ gets better and better by the day. I really don't think it's changing that much, but I think I'm just digging it more and more. It's overtaken Patriot at this point. I have a feeling it'll be their #1 seller.

House of Liquids Review, Part the Second (Part the First here)

Relighting the HH.357...

Cigarrillos: Gold liquid color. Getting a sense of a veneer of..something overlaying the vape on the inhale. Peppery exhale is nice. Not bad, nothing offputting, just not quite there. Steep for a re-visit in a day or two.
Minotaur: Red liquid. Yes, red. I get the oak they claim, plus (i'm guessing) cinnamon and light currant. There are other spices in the mix, further back. Blended well..Not a bad vape, just not my kind of vape. I can see some folks liking this one, though. To the steeper!.
Guevara: Darker (maple-colored) than Cigarrillos. Smokier than Cigarrillos, but the same veneer as Cigarrillos on the inhale. More out front, but less "pepper" (and if I could be any more confusing in my choice of words..sigh). Better than Cigarrilos, if that helps.
Chivalry: The liquid is a darker gold color than Cigarrillos. They call it peat wood - it works. Scotch - yep - and it works very well, too. Both flavors run all the way through the vape and blend perfectly. A very good vape.

The rankings:

  1. Reserve
  2. Chivalry
  3. Virgina Prime
  4. Puros
  5. Guevara
  6. Minotaur
  7. Cigarrillos

Maha Ras.. tastes like incense, coconut, and fruit punch to me. I really like it, but just as an occasional vape.

I'm bumping up Analog because of your praises. Getting that, Organic #1, and Acadian next.

That's a KeCig K101 (Empire clone) that I got from ExhaleVapors. Same as a K100, but a different look to the body. Reverse threaded lock, telescopes from 18350 to 18650, nice play on the button, very little voltage loss, eGo threaded.. I recommend it. Here's another pic..

Well folks, I sprung for a Kayfun Lite (@ $105 out the door) and plan on dedicating it to my beloved Dragon's Fire. Delivery is scheduled for 10:30 am tomorrow. For $105 I want my DF to taste like magic and wash my dishes too. :)

If it doesn't, I'm told I could sell my KFL on the classies at full price paid in a matter of seconds. I have nothing to lose. :)

I think you'll enjoy it. That style of atomizer is currently my favorite juice delivery system. What wick-and-wire setup do you have planned for your Dragon Fire machine?

Thanks, Mr. Mann. Just trying to give a little something back to the thread I've learned so much from.

I'll say this about Reserve. It's so good that putting it in a ProTank would be a crime in Frankenmizeria *chuckle* Even a cartotank would be frowned on sternly. Drip it, RDA it, or RBA it.

I have an arrangement with the Hooded Figures from the Night Vale podcast to guard Frankenmizeria's Dog Park. Don't go in there with Reserve and a ProTank. Just. Don't.

You know RP, I have heard more people say the same thing about their KFL. A big reason why I sprung for it. I ultimately would like to go with eckowool because it can be dry burned and I like how the folded edge can be placed atop the feed channels. I saw a vid on it and really liked it. I think he used 32ga. Kanthal. I'm planning on hooking it up to my Provari. I'll link you to the vid if you're interested. Initially I will use doubled up 3mm cotton and 32 ga. Cuz that's what I have. :)

What wick/wire setup do you use?

Ya know.. my one of my first experience with nets were ahlusion aromatics. I did notice the disclaimer too.. but I figured, well shoot.. if it comes with a warning label, it MUST be good. I was a former smoker after all.. warning labels are kinda familiar.. and they don't phase me.

In hindsight though.. I probably shoulda listened. I'm not a big fan of the aros, but I do understand the fan base. For people who loved cigars, pipes or rolled their own.. you all probably had a much greater understanding of what to expect than I did.. I smoked marb lights.. a brief affair with newports too, but that lasted only as long as my cornrows and nose ring. (i was 16 and SUCH a badass, rolls eyes) So then fast forward to my first toot of blue grass burley.. Let's just say it didn't work out too well for me.. pretty much felt like I was assaulted.. and maybe that did cause a bit of resentment.. towards the artisan, towards the fans.. but you can see how I formed my conclusion, no? Though I will admit, it was a hasty one.

Since then I've found some tamer nets.. ones without the anger issues that plague the aros :) I absolutely love every one I have tried from HHV, recently tried full flake ry4 which I think is divine, although I don't know how well this represents the net family, as the tobacco is very subtle.. Burley and Candy from TPR is liquid happiness for me.. and most recently, Sahara blend. Knocking my socks off. It reminds me of my beloved white beard tobacco from vcv but it doesn't kill my coils.. big plus considering I don't wrap my own.

But this leads me to the reason for my totally long winded post.. I'm ready to give ahl another go, and I'd really appreciate some guidance. I've been lurking this thread for a while, and you all were starting to go this direction.. but specifically.. can we categorize the non- aros at ahl from weakest to strongest? Or littlest font to biggest font... or however you guys do it. I should mention I wasn't a big fan of smooth criminal either.. it tasted ashy to me. But I gave up on mine well before the two month mark.. so maybe that would've gone away. What IS that ashy note, btw? Is that tobacco absolute? My other likes have TA too, (i think, please correct me if I'm mistaken) so I wonder why it bothered me in this liquid but I tolerate it in others? See that's another thing I'm trying to figure out about myself... Which KIND of tobaccos I like. Sigh.

But for tomorrows order.. I'm mostly wondering about house blend, river tree and wildwood. What are the differences in these?

Hi Sharron, nice to finally meet you. ;)

I don't know how you vape (meaning what you vape with), but I think if you like Sahara, you may like Peach River Tree Blend. It's more subtle and "neutral," but man is it good. Though, I think you are safe with the Wild Woods and probably overly safe with the House Blends. Those liquids (HBs) are like padded room-safe. hahaha. Yep, those drove me crazy, but not in a good way. Bland, I say (but not bad). Yes, WWs are a go.

p.s. I don't even look at Smooth Criminal until at least 6 weeks, and then, it's just a glance. After that, it's "Annie are you okay?" all day!
