RY4. On first inhale I noticed the similar tobacco flavoring they use, so had to stop there, I was done, spent, slightly traumatized. I still need to give this an honest try, will try it first next time.
Jerms,
When I reviewed Revolution RY-4 for the RY4 Roundup thread, I was disturbed by a weird flavor note that I didn't like. I hadn't vaped any other Revolution tobaccos, so I couldn't be sure if that off-flavor was linked to the synthetic tobacco flavoring or some other flavoring element in the juice. (I also had a small sample of Red Rum---which I liked---but that's a straight dessert vape to my taste buds---I don't pick up any tobacco in it at all; I've since effectively cloned it in DIY as "Butter Rum Raspberry"...)
Thanks for clearing up the mystery with RevVapor's RY-4 by confirming that the odd flavor is coming from the arti-bacco. While I assume that your palate and mine are not dead center in the flavor bell curve (probably far from it), I really think RevolutionVapor needs to consider using a different synthetic tobacco base. The one they use now is distinctly unusual, and not in a good way.
On a different subject, I'm having a bang-up time with my home-brewed extractions. I've done six NETs so far---three cigarette tobaccos (Skydancer, Nat Sherman MCD, and American Spirit Organic cigs) and three pipe tobaccos (an aromatic, a non-aromatic, and an English blend)---plus three coffee/espresso extracts, and I've got another three pipe tobacco samples waiting in the wings to be brewed up. Home-brewed natural extracts are completely rocking my vaping world. I haven't tried any fruit extracts yet and don't know if I will, but man, oh man, tobacco and coffee are wonderful! My gosh, even without sophisticated equipment using only simple macerations with PG/VG, making extracts is easy, inexpensive, and so tasty! I hope research will eventually confirm that NETs are as harmless (compared to smoking tobacco) as we assume them to be. If we find out that they're not, I'm going to be hard-pressed to go back to only synthetic, lab-based flavorings.
