Bronze,

while I know HHV has at least one "single extraction" (I am thinking DH is one) the majority of the extracts are combined to come up with "various different extracts." So I am thinking that since they are in fact mixing their extracts to have a "one," it may be the initial mixing of that one that throws it off. Now, if you're correct that they have only had two batches of DF, not necessarily one DF extract as it's not a single source, I imagine that the concoction is different from the first one I had. Unfortunately, that would mean that it likely won't ever be completely like the first I had.

The key is that the liquids are made up of "various different extracts." Those quotes are from Adam last year in an email exchange.

That explains (possibly) why he had three different juices (Gandy2, PB, and DF) that IMO were identical. I couldn't tell a difference between the three. Perhaps it was the same brew or similar at least.

My head is spinning. :)

Did initial Gandalf taste like current Legend? the cherry-like stuff?

I'm finally back online, everyone...if you've noticed me gone that is...

My computer fried out and I had to save up the cash to get a new one. I'm done with PC's - got a MacBook now. So far so good! Anyway, looks like I have a bit of reading to catch up on...need to get back into the loop.

Good to see you again. I thought you had re-upped :)

When you have a minute, let us know how you've been getting along with the GeJ's flavor-infused NEW releases: Pop that Cherry and Grasshopper. You're about the only one who's had them for a while.

Nope. That's where and when I got confused. See, when all of the "cherry" stuff started, I was still chillin' with the very fist batch and telling everyone they were crazy. Next thing I know, EVERYONE is saying the same thing and I re-ordered what they were vaping and then I "got it."

So, the individual liquids are cocktails of extracts and some of those cocktails contain slight tweaks (pluses or minuses of extracts), but if they get the initial mix off, then your left with only being able to add more of the "off mix," or less of it. I imagine (don't know this for certain), that they mix large batches of the individual cocktails of extracts and then use it up until its gone. That would make the most sense as mixing them all by hand, for every order would be too time consuming and even more likely to promote QC issues. For the Purity line, essentially they have a set of DIY ingredients/extracts that are unique to HHV, then they make the individual cocktails, e.g., Legend, Dragon's Fire, Pirate's Booty, etc., with which to "customize" individual orders. That "customization" is in the form of varying degrees of PG/VG/nic/extract, but not the base ingredients themselves. So I don't think I can exactly ask for more "Aged Dominican Seco" in the way that I can just ask for more of the DF "mix."

Man, that was difficult to explain. I often times wish I could distill info like bh.

Hey Dire, good to see you back. All I have for a computer is a laptop, a very old laptop, that I haven't used for internet in ages. Strictly smart phone for internetting these days, though the library is across the street for the rare site that doesn't play well with my phone (FastTech and EmpireMods orders need to be placed there). The nice thing about doing the forum on my phone, easy to quickly read my unread threads on the go. And with my side-slide out keyboard, I've become the fastest thumbs in Cass County.

You know, I tried that a bit before on my phone as well (while the compy was still working) and I just don't have the peepers anymore for it. Yeah, I have reading glasses and all but I am much, much more comfortable sitting in front of my lappy and reading normal-sized text. Also, I took typing in high school (tells you a little bit about MY age) so I have fairly fast typing fingers and real ......ed texting thumbs lol. But, I am glad to be back!! Missed all you guys and gals!!

Well, I understood all that so you must have done a pretty good job of explaining it.. All I can say is Good Grief!!!! Seems like lots of opportunities for QC issues. At the same time, HHV is very unique and explains why they have been very successful. They really do not compare to any other vendors. They stuck their neck out and it paid off. But it is also very risky for obvious reasons. I remember once suggesting to him to add "Versions" to his flavors. Gandalf V1, Gandalf V2, etc... He actually thought about it...briefly, at least.

LOL!!! I took typing in a summer school class just before I entered high school. That was back in 1973. Electric typewriters was the end all back then. :)

I went to summer class because my mother didn't want me and my brother hanging around her all summer. She didn't care what class we took. She just wanted us out of there.

Actually the only one I've had experience with of those two is Grasshopper; I haven't gotten any of PTC yet...

But, I'm a fan of the Grasshopper! The mint tobacco and cocoa blend together wonderfully; I know most people tend to have bad experiences with cocoa or chocolate-flavored liquids but the cocoa in this one is spot on. It probably helps that the mint tobacco is in the forefront of the two, but overall I have to say it's a juice I will purchase again. I have been semi-hesitant to get any of the PTC because I have yet to taste a cherry flavoring that wasn't...medicine-y. I know good ones are out there, it's just that I have had limited experience with cherry-infused juices in general. I guess I will just have to put aside my reservations and trust in Nick and Luigi's magic!

I'm wondering why no one has a chocolate banana tobacco. Or chocolate cherry tobacco.

You'd think those would work, especially for pipe blends.

I bet if you suggested that to Nick, he would get on it and whip up a small batch since he has all those already.

Haha!! Yeah, our mother didn't want us hanging around the house all day during the summer either...she pretty much kicked us out of the house at sunrise and didn't want to see us back home until the street lights came on!

My Mom said her most favorite day of the year was the day we went back to school. Her least favorite was when we got out for the summer. :)

Trying out the Ahlusion aromatic Honey Cured that I got from BJ. I like this one quite a bit. The honey seems to have less of that fermented quality that's in Gold Rising, but it is similar. What's nice is the honey isn't the star of the show, the tobacco is. Unlike the peach, vanilla, and cherry aros; which to me the flavoring and tobacco unifies into one flavor; here it's tobacco dominant with a seperate, though complimentary, honey flavor.

Thanks again BJ, so far the BWB RY4 and Ahl Honey Cured are big winners for me. Still a little scared to try that Highbrow RY4..
