yeah...ummm...

Back to the NET action. I am finally ready to weigh in on GEJ Organic #1.

I have heard more than one person refer to this juice as underrated. I now get why, and not just because it doesn't get discussed as much as other GEJ juices like Natural perique, GJ4, Patriot, and Vita Bella. This is a tasty, and I might add UNIQUELY FLAVORED, juice.

I got into this one bassackwards just like I did with A+ and Blue Grass Burley. At A+ I went for the Maple Burley (you know how much I ADORE this juice, as it is in my holy trinity of fave NET's) and then later tried the BGB. Same thing here. I first got into the GJ4 and then later the Organic #1. The thing is, in both of those, I realized how heavy each was in the siganture tobacco base of each vendor. And everything I liked about the aromatic blend is evident in the base. Bottom line, Organic #1 is that very flavorful, rich, approachable, tasty (I just cant nail the taste in words) tobacco that you love about GJ4. It is pretty simply GJ4 minus the caramel and vanilla. It is damn tasty, no doubt about it.

The other similarity between those two vendor juices for me is that I both prefer the blends to the base and that I can't see vaping them AND the base in my rotation as they are just too similar to their respective bases. I want Maple Burley over BGB and the two are just too similar to vape side by side. Ditto on GJ4 and Organic #1. I think I will stick with the GJ4. It captures everything I like about Organic #1...meanwhile, Organic #1 is not going to unseat Louisville, or London, or even BGB, or NETCOM Black Cav in my straight tobaco rotation. So it is REALLY good, just not making the rotation. I will say thins, I think it is a good place to point NET newbs who might not be ready for W2V Sigs or for A+ BGB. It is a very approachable, full bodied, and delicious no nonsense NET with a unique flavor hard not to like.

That's an interesting observation about Organic #1. I'll let you know if I can detect than when I get my GJ4 in later this week.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I can't get enough of it.

Just ordered these. Gotta try them out.

MOV: (Gold label NETs)
1) Apache
2) Southern Gentleman
3) Full Virginia Flake RY4]

GeJ:
1) Patriot
2) Natural Perique Tobacco
3) Vita Bella

Not done yet. Dang it. Got a problem. ALL of Clays stuff is great from NETCOM, and it's a hard to choose from. Gotta have more Black Cavendish though. Clay is RIGHT ON the mark with that brew. Outstanding vape!!

I can vouch for all 3 GeJ flavors and they are all great! I can all day vape Patriot and Natural Perique; Vita Bella is a little too sweet for all day with me, but I do hit it in the evening when reading.

Once, less than 4 months ago, I would have thought the same thing. Now, Vita Bella isn't sweet enough :) Or, I should say, isn't as sweet as it could be.

I still consider VB relatively only slightly sweet. But no sweeter than Organic #1.

It's like MOV's Hey Jack. It's really not sweet, it's just the maple notes tricks your mind into making you think it's sweet. The same, I think, with the vanilla in VB.

I'm not a fan of the name, I think it's best to keep it professional, and avoid language that may alienate some potential customers. Personally, I don't bat an eye at sexual innuendo, but some get offended. It's up to a vendor though if they want to take that risk, I just wouldn't take it if I was a vendor.

Doesn't matter though; Nick sucks at presentation period. He also happens to make some of the best NETs available, and that's why I'll always be a customer. I like cherry NETs, and curious to see how Nick's compare to my big 3 cherry NETs that I love; Pendragon, Legend, and Smokin Cherries. Gonna have to wow me to surpass any of those. Grasshopper has a lot of potential work well for me, and pretty excited about that one. Pretty unique blend, and the description sounds like a lot of thought went into it (as he does with all of his NETs).

I'm afraid my 600+ ml of juice will have more friends in the cupboard...at this rate, I have almost 2 years' worth of juice and I need more??? :)

In the model railroading world, people who mess with a variety of scales (like HO, N, and 027 all at once) refer to themselves as "rubber gaugers". I can relate as I do that as well with a couple different narrow gauge scales. Maybe you're a rubber vaper? I am and I'm proud to identify with a number of flavors...

Hey all,

I've been a bit absent lately due to being extremely busy both with work and my studies. The studies have involved an essay and workshop questions. It's been a crazy period and I am well in need of a break. Thankfully vaping has been my companion throughout and I enjoy putting the books down for 5 minutes to vape and enjoy the choices available in my rotation.

Yesterday I was thrilled to find in my vape mail (first vape mail in weeks), a lovely sampler set of home made extraction liquids from Boomerdude. There are about 15 8ml bottles of NET concentrate. There are some real beauties amongst them too. Extracts of Borkum Riff, Nat Sherman No.2, Rocky Patel, Kuba Kuba, Acid Blondie, Cavendish and many others. There is also pre-mixed dark honey, RY4 and 555. Of the pre-mixed liquids the Ry4 is easily my favourite but they are all good. I've only briefly been able to explore them because of my studies and silly little obstacles like a lack of bottles for DIY mixing.

I have mixed some of the Borkum Riff and Nat Sherman (seperately with PG/VG). The former is just divine. It's like smoking a pipe. There is something special about home made extractions. They are unique, raw and personal. It's a bit like a home made wine. No one can quite emulate it. The borkum Riff in particular has to be one of the best pipes I've had because it is different to the typical grassy tones one experiences in liquids like BGB-ahlusion, Balkan-NET.com and Apache-MOV. It has an undertone of grassiness but it's more like that fresh, almost manure like grassiness I remember from the wafting scent when the pipe smokers amongst my grandparents would blaze up. And I have only tried 2 of the stash Boomerdude sent to me. The Nat Sherman No.2 is smooth, woody and oaky. Are they all this good!?

When I first opened the bottles the aroma wafted in my face like no other liquid I've had before. I guess this is because they are in concentration form. Putting my nose up against these bottles is like sticking my nose against a fine cigar or pipe tobacco. It's something else! I am looking forward to trying the rest of them and hope to report on them in coming days and weeks.

Thank you so much Boomerdude. You are/were one of Natural Tobaccos best kept secrets.

I was also thankful to receive a bottle of scotch cut and Erinmore from Scarfy during our rendezvous in Sydney when her and Mr Scarfy came to town 2 weekends ago. Both are sensational (Both Scarfy's or both liquids you ask? Both and both!). The Erinmore is a quintessential grassy type of pipe but with a good bite to it and some bitterness just to let you know this liquid is no pretender. The scotch cut also has a respectable bitter bite to it and does in fact have a kind of scotch undertone to it. Both fantastic liquids.

I am going to be a bit busy over the next week. I am going to Perth for a wedding on Friday and will return on Monday. If I don't respond to any comments over the next 5-7 days that is why, but I will try and stick my nose in occasionally and see how you are all doing and what you are vaping!

I am going to pan right back to where I last stopped reading and read everything from there when I get half a chance. If you guys have been busy I might take a week to catch up.

Homemade extractions? People do that? Gawd, I'd love to extract some Nat Sherman MCD; that was my favorite cigarette. I need to read up on this.
Edit: Actually, it was Cigaretello Filter, but they stopped making those years ago and that's why I switched to MCDs. Close but not exactly the same.

Micro-coils are wonderful things. I have been doing 7 wraps of 28g Kathal with 3mm Ekowool and loving it. It's just perfect for me.

I've just been getting into micro-coils and liking the performance so far. I like the idea of the cotton ball wick too. Easy to slip out and replace without having to rebuild the coil. With the gunky NETs I vape, this is important. And the puffy cotton ball wick ends are easy to stuff in the well as opposed to silica or standard cotton strand wick.

I'm thinking I'm probably going to need a better atty for this GeJ stuff... Lots of gunk reports on Vita Bella. I use protanks/evods pretty much exclusively because they are easy. I have a few joytech 510 disposable attys too, but I really don't like using them. Seems like I can only get 3-4 decent hits before I'm tasting metal. Which I don't really understand why, because when I do blow them out, I swear there must be a ml or 2 there. Seems like most of the juice I drip in ends up in this "black hole" of a juice reservoir, never to be vaped. :( These things have been an endless source of frustration for me.. so dare I ask.. what's a good RDA for a beginner?

Oh Sharon, you ask 10 people and you'll get 10 opinions swearing from one end of the Earth to the other that their gig is the absolute best. So beware.

Here's my opinion...the simplest rebuildable atty is the Phoenix RBA/RDA. There are three basic parts. The base with the pos/neg screws, a chamber, and a drip tip. Nothing fancy whatsoever and easy to rebuild with any kind of wicking media. They can be got (for example) here... Phoenix Bully Rebuildable Atomizer - RBA [gv-BullyAtomizer] - $10.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more for a measly $11. It provides a full flavor/feel as good as any rebuildable on the market. And yes, I have Genesis and Kayfuns for 10 times the price.

It's an excellent introductory device to RBAs. And there are plenty of us to help you rebuild it if you require help. Don't forget you will need wick and wire. But store-bought, 100% cotton works well. 30 ga Kanthal A-1 is good for making micro-coils.

Before you vape on a 510 (or at least after a couple good hits), do a quick pull on the drip tip to draw the liquid back up in the atty (from the reservoir). You should be able to get another hit off of that one and then just redrip. I think I've gotten two bad hits off my good workin' attys in 2013. LOL
