There's a tiny air hole about half way up the chamber. I've heard the same complaints about those lower air holes. Not a problem with the Phoenix.
I had the same problem with the Octopus, I broke off a toothpick in the side hole & hole below the coil, and drilled one with a 3/32 bit, in the third indentation from the bottom. In retrospect I'd recommend starting with a 5/64, the 3/32 is a bit too airy for me when aligned with the coil, I offset it ~45 degrees which seems to tighten the draw and I get good flavor & vapor.
Dang, have I ever said Vita Bella is awesome before? Let me qualify...6+month-old Vita Bella.
I'm stoked to read that, I have ~4ml of Orange De Sangre left in my bottom-feed/ A7 setup, next up is 5 m/o Vita Bella @6mg and looking very,
very dark. I have a second 30ml steeping ~2 weeks now, I might just drip some for a comparison taste
breaking the steep discipline.
Home-brewing NET doesn't require much space, and no complicated equipment. All you need for Basic 101 Home-Brew NET is a burner, a pot, some water, coffee filters and a cone. Plus tobacco, of course. That's not to suggest that anyone should make his/her own NET, but it's easy. Easier than rebuilding/winding coils. LOL.
On the other hand, NEC (naturally-extracted coffee) turns out to be quite difficult. The process is just as easy, but good results (as an extract to make vaping juices) are elusive, to say the least. I'm still working on that one.

... sort of...
Bill's right, I use a small ceramic bowl & pot on the stove, heat steeping uncovered ~3 hours, low simmer. Keep your eye on the water level and add as needed.
I haven't done a Tobacco yet, just an NES
pice with whole Clove, I mix the extract @5%, since it can be an overpowering flavor. The juice @0 nic is a good palette cleanser, I might experiment mixing this with the right home-brewed NET, maybe a Nat Sherman or American Spirit type Tobacco.
I recently completed an NEC
offee, freshly ground medium roast Colombian, 3hour simmer and (Coffee) filtered twice. IMO a longer extraction might draw more bitterness from the bean, and three hours produced a Maple colored liquid.
The filtering was a very long process, the first run was ~90 minutes, and becoming impatient, I squeezed the filter gently
so I thought, halfway through the "gentle squeeze", the bottom seam of the filter split. Since very little liquid was getting extracted, I tossed the filter & contents and the second filter run was ~20 minutes,
no squeezing this time.
I quickly mixed a 50ml bottle @ 20%, eventually a bad move, though it has really good flavor, I'm sure it will be a coil gunker, I'm vaping mine in an iClear30, good taste and the Vapor Aroma is
noticeably Coffee.
Next mix will be @10-12%, the extract has gotten darker as well, I did sit it in the Window for 48 hours, hoping a "Sun Brewed/steeped extract will yield more flavor. I sent my Sister a 5ml Coffee mixed@ 12%, so I'm waiting for her to test & report.
