After months of using Protanks with a variety of power sources, I have finally switched to dripping with mechanical mods. Okay, so my taste buds weren't lying to me. I WASN'T getting the same flavors many of you reported here. Now, I'm getting completely different tastes yet again. With 2 drippers, I'm blissfully vaping GodZNilla and HumpBack from QnJ. I may pick up a couple more drippers to tease the palate with more flavors. Yes, it's a different world and using cotton wicks makes a huge difference to me.
Funny you mentioned this. Yesterday I dripped Hurricane's Sunshine Cured Tobacco (artibacco) for the second time. There's some tones I really like, and some I don't care for in it; and overall it seems to contain too much flavoring. I was thinking; why is it flavored so strong and why did they allow these off tones in it.. do they test on cartomizers or something? I still have some Boge cartos collecting dust so I loaded it up (took a while, even at 70%pg the juice seems thick, and Boge uses a dense material in their cartos). Hadn't used a carto in a while so first thing I notice.. yes tastes like carto filler. But more important, the flavor was toned down to a noticably better level and most of the off notes were muted out.
Truth is for NETs, or any complex juice, the only way to get ALL of the complex notes is to drip; be it on a 306, 510, 901, or rebuildable dripper. Even the latest generation of bottom coil clearos and tanks are unable to bring forth all the notes for all complex vapes. Dripping is suggested for NETs not just because they can tend to be dirty on coils, but because the complexity of flavoring from real tobaccos leaves doesn't tranfer completely with other toppers. Many get results that are good enough for them by using cartos and clearos, and people should vape on the device that they feel works best for them, but when they do they should realise they are tasting the juices different from people who drip.
As shown with my Hurricane test, some juices actually taste better on devices that mute or change flavor. Personally I only reorder juices that taste great when using a device that brings out all the flavor. Also, some juices taste about the same in my Protank 2 as a dripper, but those are more simple juices with 1 or 2 flavors that aren't very complex (which I like to vape on the go, so perfect for that BCC).

Aww, shucks, Bronze. I'm so glad I was in a touchy mood that night; aren't you?
