Decided to try the Sunday Morning from MOV. This is definitely a more robust, flavorful tobacco than the Pendragon with some creamy sweetness. Some of the sweetness may come from the Virginia tobacco (aka brightleaf) and the Cavendish, but of course I am sure most comes from the cream in the coffee and cream flavor added. I don't get much coffee, but it's still rather good.

All clear, Abe. :) Thanks.

I found GEJ's Nat Perique to be absolutely vapable within in a week. I didn't vape NP often enough to really assess its progression, but I do like it just as much in week 18 as I did in week 1 or 2. For me, all the GeJ's need 5-7 days to simmer. After that it's all up to taste and mood. Some people do find the GeJ's - here's another classic one - "wet dog"-ness to be too overwhelming in those first few weeks though. I remember being blown away - not in a good way but not in a bad way, more like in a  way - upon first vaping my GeJ's. At that point, I was only 10 days into vaping/removed from smoking and only had Halo Tribeca and some HHV Purity tobacco samples under my belt. The GeJ's helped me learn a lot about tobaccos and differences between extraction processes, and were a welcome juxtaposition to the creamy, dessert-like (and rather bland, from a tobacco standpoint) profiles of the HHV's. There was no fuzzy, synthetic tasting flavors extracted with the leaves to mask the true tobacco flavor. It was pure, unadlturated tabak, and both vendors played a crucial roll in the beginning of my vaping journey. I was extremely blessed to have found this thread and be guided down a streamlined path to pure tobacco vaping bliss. As you alluded to the other day, Abe, this thread has saved hundreds of wasted dollars and hours for so many of us.

I have some 10 day old (new & improved) Patriot and Apple Cured that I hope to bust out in the next few days. Looking forward to comparing the new with the old. Need a buzz? Get some Patriot. That one really gets my head spinning. :D
Jerms: Well great minds think alike and make similar mistakes! I will see how they are when fresh. The Highbrow Perique has definitely gotten more funky in the month I have gotten it. I hope they're good out of box, though.

And a heads up to Nick: you're PMs are full! :p

I add a little FA Coffee Espresso flavoring to my Sunday Morning, and it works wonders. The NET is quite nice, but Sunday Morning is supposed to be a tobacco-coffee blend, and to my palate the coffee element is lacking.

One of my critics on the thread likened that to pouring cheap steak sauce over a fine steak, but that's the wrong analogy on all levels. It's like properly seasoning the steak to bring out more of the flavor it should have to make it tasty for me, since I'm the one eating it. I see nothing sacred about juices as delivered. Even a brilliant juice-maker may have different taste preferences from yours or mine, and what's perfect for them may not be perfect for us. I'm fearless in custom tailoring retail juices to please myself. Not that I alter all my retail juices. Some are delicious as is, and others I wouldn't know how to improve, so I don't risk ruining the juice by altering it. HHV NET blends tend to be complex to start with, and something like Ahlusion Vurley strikes me as not only unique, but complete unto itself. However, when it's obvious what to add to make a certain juice a little more yummy for my taste preferences, I go ahead and experiment with a small sample to see if I can get more enjoyment from it.

Sunday Morning was a no-brainer and an easy fix. I have many coffee flavorings, and FA seemed like the right choice (and worked beautifully). Even so, I alter only 3ml at a time. That way, whether my experiment succeeds or fails, I still have most of the bottle in original form.

Hi guys
this tread has been a great read this couple of days! I have a question hoping that you could help me out a bit.
I'm from mexico and will be going to san diego Ca the next weekend where my first order from HHV will be waiting for me. I'm running out of liquid and don't really want to buy some here (no good choices) and wanted to know which juice will be better to dive in without good steeping (well the package was sent march 17 so it had 4 days of steeping )
I do not have any more juice, just the 3 ml that I'll be carryng on my kanger t3 and would like to know with of the juices has a better out of the box taste and which will be much better after steeping (I know all of them will be better but still need to dive in one of them)

the ones I ordered are
legend
serendipidy
huntsman

thanks for your help!

RGM - If you have someone holding them for you, have them take the dripper caps off for a few hours over the next few days if you can. Also, from what I gather, San Diego has a rather large vaping scene with several local stores where you could go pick up a few attys or T3's or a box of cartos. That way you can test them all out to see which you feel is most vapable right away. I would say that after a few days of airing them out all three of those should be quite vapable.

Cheers and enjoy your trip!

getdaheckouttahea! That's

Ordering some this weekend, if I have any money left after Vapefest NY! ;)

Right?! A couple of the strands have broken off, but there's a lot of them and no other flaking. The last silica I used could only take a couple dry burns, this one keeps coming out like new. RTD has it showed as sold out. I hope it's not like the Imeo silica at COV that was really hard to find in stock, and now they don't even have it listed. That was the stuff I wanted to try, but stumbled on this since it wasn't available.

Anyone know the "made in Germany" company that supplies this?

Hey Buddy, Try them out of the mail they shouldn't be bad at all. Also I live in San Diego and I recommend you stop by Vapure in Chula Vista and pick up some liquid and some attys if you need. They have a huge selection of liquid and gear. They will let you sample as many flavors as you'd like!

Hi rgarza - They all work best with steeping, though huntsman is probably the most flavorful to begin with. Serendipity is second and Legend third. I'd fill a clearo, give it a bit of vaping time. If it isn't very taste worthy, leave the clearo a day, and repeat. Small amounts of liquid plus atty heating can hasten the process. Also if you bought a 30 ml, take a couple 3 ml empties with you and pour into those - small amounts steep quicker. You should try them all though just for the fun of seeing how they develop. And of course San Diego will have stores that I'm sure have some well steeped offerings that you can try out. Have fun!

First impressions: Full Virginia Flake RY4 from MOV

As much as I loved the first two from MOV I had high expectations for this RY4, which is probably the reason this isn't working for me. I was expecting, and hoping, for more of the same. Complex, authentic tobacco with notes of caramel and vanilla expertly blended in, that's what I wanted. I'm mainly getting caramel popcorn that is very sweet, rich and tasty, but no tobacco.

If this had a NLV label on it I would say this is another great NLV dessert juice like BH and Gold. The profile is very much like I got from NLV and as delicous as those.............

Okay I'm going to stop here. The last few vapes while typing this the taste did a 180 on me and I'm getting a lot of tobacco. I don't know if my taste buds are acting funny or the juice needed a chance to breath but the profile has flipped. I'm leaving the first paragraphs because that was the first impression, but I need to spend time with this. I was going to leave the cap off for a day and let it steep but instead I'll aerate it by transfering to a plastic bottle and report back later.

Jerms,

1. Steep that MOV! or 2. Just keep vaping it.

Either way, I think the resemblance to any NLV juice will quickly fade.

Lol, no need for #1, #2 is already working. I know better than to post impressions based on the first few vapes, but knowing better doesn't always stop me from re-making a mistake. Like I posted in your thread, it's really working for me now and plan on vaping it for several hours today before posting a proper first impressions.

I will definetly visit them and try something new, I'm totally new at this and haven't really tried ANYTHING except the ry4 flavor that came with my kit and a dekang dk-tab that I'm not really fond of, definetly wil be trying all sort of stuff there! (never tried any different flavors besides these tobaccos yet

Thanks for the tips, Nick. I'm glad I'll only have to wait a week to enjoy the goodness (and I'm going to be doing the classic hot water accelerated steep). And I'm double and TRIPLE glad about the "wet-dog"-ness you're talking about. That is what I'm looking for! Funk is definitely welcome in my book, food and music included.

I'm really feeling my lack of HBV's Perique and Dark Chocolate right now, but on the positive end, the Espresso finally lost its "cat-peee" astringent, almost ammonia odor after a month of normal steeping. It's surprisingly good now!

Cheers,
Abe

If you like the "wet-dog" funk GeJ will be a good vendor to you. Out of the ones I've tried, only Fire-Cured didn't have it. Vita, NP, GJ4, and Wrangler all had it in varying degrees, almost like it's their signature. The other's I haven't had get described with it too. It's not strong, but noticable enough to appreciate it if you like that and to turn away those who don't.

LOL - so there you go guys - wet dog = good: cat pee = not good.

You could take out the words "wet" and "pee" from that equation and it's still right. :p

I kid, I love cat's but I'm allergic to them, so I pretend I hate them so I don't cry over not being able to have one. Those cute, adorable, fluffy... sigh.

Hahahaha, great catch, hulamoon. You're making me blush. This didn't seem to short-circuit my logic centers, and somehow intuitively fits in my head :p

Maybe: wet dog = friendly hapless canine & cat pee = stressed out feline
Most likely: Wet dog = funk (which is good in the case of Perique) & cat pee = ammonia (which shouldn't be in coffee)

And Jerms, that wick is unreal. I'm curious to how far you can take it!

Cheers,
Abe

Thanks, Jerms. I'm getting excited about what GeJ has to offer.

And I'm the same way with cats. About the cat pee thing, my girlfriend's cat has been ...... all over her apartment this past week. Some sort of territorial marking due to an increase in environmental stress but we just can't seem to find a clear reason for this shift in behavior. And I'll take wet dog over that smell any time!

Cheers!

I'm curious how long I'll be able to push the wick before it needs replacing. I figure if it lasts a week, which I'm sure it will, at an inch a wick the 10ft could last me 2 years. Theory will probably not hold up with reality, but it will be a while before I need to get more.

Cat's are strange creatures. Want to know what doesn't work? Pretending you hate a cat in front of it so they stay away. It's like they can see through me. As I'm calling it a mangy, worthless, evil creature it they come rubbing up against my leg while purring, so then I just HAVE to start petting it even though I know my allergies will suffer. I make it obvious with my words how I feel, sometimes I wonder if cat's don't even understand English.
