Reading a post today, and looking closer at my RTD silica, I realize it's not braided, but "double twisted" meaning a bunch of small twists groupled together and twisted as a group.

My defence? It was refered as braided to me. But more importantly, since I had been working with it and still thought it was braided my defence is this: As a guy, I just didn't know better.

Anyone who bought some based on me saying it was braided and don't like it pm me and I may buy it from you. It's still amazing wick. Being German and double twisted it may be the same as the stuff sold in Germany by vaporbase-de on ebay which is considered exellent silica but I'm looking into it more.

Well whaddya know, finally got to the last page. I've been reading this thread for months, soaking up knowledge from you more experienced folk. Quite an eye opener. Good stuff.

I'm hoping, in the near future, we see more NET concentrates come on the market. Also, does anyone see any new wicking material on the horizon? We have cotton and silica, ss, and ceramic wicking material, plus the fish stone. I wonder what's coming down the pike next?

And by the way, I never would have tried Huntsman and Blondie if it wasn't for this thread. I hope to someday come up with a DIY juice as good. Some of the recipes I found here are as good as vendor bought.

OK, I took the bait. Popped for what amounts to a sample pack of the CravinVapes NETs. Ordered five---all but the menthol---in 6ml 40/60. Given what I've read here earlier, I have low expectations, but that's OK.

Speaking of low expectations, my first crack at a home-brewed NET turned out better than anticipated. I had some ancient (2 1/2 years old now) cartons of Skydancer Native American all-natural, no-additive cigarettes out in the garage. I quit smoking cold turkey on the day I started vaping 2 1/2 years ago and haven't had a cig since then, but I kept the remaining stash of cartons in case the financial system ever goes belly up and I need to barter with a farmer for a chicken, LOL. I used the tobacco from 40 cigs to make the maceration. Figured if its advanced age and dried out decrepitude resulted in a lousy end result, the only waste was some time, effort, and PG/VG. A cheap way to muddle my way through the learning curve.

Well, the result is better than I expected. Mild tobacco flavor that's surprisingly sweet with an interesting silky smooth mouthfeel. Tastes best at a mix percentage of 10-15%. Any more than that is overkill on the sweetness. So with 100mls of extract, I have enough to make 700mls of DIY juice. Not that I'll ever need that much. DIY'd by itself, it's a little nondescript, but it's pretty good for Frankenjuicing. Mixing Louisville with Skydancer in a 1:1 blend smooths out some of the Burley brightness of Louisville quite nicely. Next stop, a cigar or pipe maceration.

That's ok... I ordered up the menthol :D

I may go back and try others but only after I find a good menthol for an ADV... Right now, it looks like I can get there with something from MVJ and then adding some menthol... I'll know more for certain after they have steeped a bit. Until then, I didn't think it'd hurt to try Cravin's version in the mean time...

Thanks to the generosity of John I received a sample of Patriot and a bottle of My Hero Black & Blue. Let me know how I can return the favor. Also received my Ahl order, happy mail day. Yesterday received a nice package of beta NETs and a couple really old school tobaccos from a man who shall remain nameless. My cupeth over-floweth.

Congrats on your success with your first maceration Bill! As old and dried up as that tobacco was I figured it was a flip of the coin how it turned out.

Hello NET Hunters. Just got back from two-night run Vienna WV/ Canton OH/ Charlotte NC, lotsa snow but was just warm enough so it didn't stick. Spent those days with MVJ's VGVapes Country Squire-Caramel Apple in a REOSmini w/ CCV 'Ressurecter' carto. Decent, but nothing to write home about. Black Licorice flavor was slowly replace with a mild, dark tobacco flavor. Not a turn-off but not an OMG! either. Thinking of setting some up in a Twist/T3 just to play with voltage a little on this juice. Being a pure VG selection, plus the carto, may dull the flavor a bit, but still vapable. And no feeding or wicking problems, thickness and consistency not a problem.
Seeing the name CravinVapes on this thread again. I thought most here were not impressed with them, although I found them to be OK. Not great, but OK. Thier NETs are a little on the grassy side, perticularly Maple Spirit and Caramel Tobacco. The Organic Vanilla Pipe is a decent selection, I've got it in my rotation now. But the Twice Vanilla Tobacco didn't taste like tobacco at all to me, but it was a great recreation of campfire marshmallows ! And, yes, 20% off thier site. Might get a couple twist batteries for $20 each, as those little buggers just aren't cut out for the rough life of a big rig.
EDIT: If you find CV's sweet vapes better than thier NETs, don't be surprised. The Vanilla X, Strawberry Cheesecake and Apple Delight are all top-shelf for me. I know, this is a tobacco thread, but just had to add that.

Some who frequent this thread are vendor specific. Some people use the term fanboy or fangirl, which is okay to describe oneself as, but not so cool to call someone else. For one, it's use is inaccurate most of the time, and second, it's usually used to put someone down. Vendor specific on the other hand is not negative, it just means a person likes to do most of their vaping from their favorite vendor.

People become vendor specific when they find a vendor that gives them almost everything they are looking for in eliquid. It has nothing to do with which vendor is better or best, it's a personal thing when what a vendor puts out matches up someone's own tastes. It doesn't mean vaping only that one vendor's juice, but to be vendor specific you do a majority of your vaping from one and most of your favorite juices come from there too.

When a person becomes vendor specific, their opinions on that vendor's juices is helpful for others who love that vendor, but it's hard to give an unbiased opinion to others who don't. They can still fairly judge other juices, but their opinion on their favorite vendors juices is tainted. It's hard to remove that bias when you love almost everything a vendor is doing, and unless your a professional reviewer that's ok.

Well, I'm not a professional reviewer, and Ahlusion has just hit the tipping point for me that I have to admit I can't give an unbiased opinion. I'm not vendor specific since I vape them only a small part of the time, but I can easily see that changing in the future. When a vendor out-performs every other vendor for you, eventually they become what you vape the most. I try each new Ahl juices carrying high expectations, and they usually end up blowing those expectations out the water.

Sweet Georgia Peach arrived today and I'm not a good source to compare, rate, or judge this juice. For me it's the best fruit tobacco I've had. Not by a little, it's in another league for me that others can't touch. It's also one of the best vapes period for me. If you already love Ahlusion, try this juice. If Ahlusion is just another vendor for you, look to someone else for an unbiased opinion.

Hi, my name is Nick. And I'm an Ahlcoholic.

Sweet Georgia Peach was the last of the 9 Ahlusion Aromatics I tried. Having tried, and thoroughly enjoyed the other 8, I knew I would enjoy this one too. I got a 30ml bottle on March 7. It is now empty. That is all.

Thank the gods another 30ml arrives tomorrow.

SGP went in a different direction that I thought. I figured they'd pull the same trick as Vurley by making 2 flavors into 1, and they did; it's a peach tobacco instead of peach AND tobacco, but the suprise came in the form the peach. I was waiting for ripe and juicy peach, instead it's like a dried peach, where the peach flavors are enhanced and the sweet juiciness lessened. The peach is so damn realistic my mind adds texture. I feel like I'm biting into a peach that firm and a little dry, but tastes good enough it doesn't need to ripen more. It's perfect.

You nailed it, Jermemy. It's a slightly tangy and unripe peach, where I would eat it anyway and still enjoy it. It almost borders on a Nectarine to me. It's a fascinating flavor. And the tobacco blend is phenomenal. At first it seemed strikingly similar to the blend in Smokin' Cherries, which is relatively mild and has a hefty dose of toastiness from the cavendish. The more I vaped Geo'gia, the less mild it became, as I stopped focusing so much on the peach and started really analyzing the tabak. There's a really nice Burley smokiness to it, which keeps it aggressive while the cavendish swirls around in the background. It pretty much jumped right into my top 5, and instantly surpassed Smokin' Cherries as my favorite fruit/tabak.

This. For three weeks straight. ;)

Nice descriptions Nick. I hardly noticed the tobacco, not because it wasn't there or done well, but because I was so focused on the fruit side which is unreal. For now the tobacco just plays to shape the peach. Once my head gets wrapped around the peach better I'm sure the tobacco will assert itself more in my mind. At first the fruit kind of played like a dried apricot to me, probably because I've had dried apricot and not dried peach.

The fanboy in me thinks it was a genious move to play the peach this way. Like a lot of peach vape fans, I tend to think the best peach flavor plays like a perfectly ripe, succulant, juicy peach. It sure makes for a great description. I wouldn't have thought something drier, less ripe would play this well.
