What kind of percentages are you using for The NET's from MeJ?

I'll assume that was directed at me since I was the last to post and you didn't quote someone...

I'm using 6mg for a couple of reasons... I've used higher %'s and it made little difference to me. I don't believe I can completely do without, just didn't seem to help to use higher values is all. Having smoked cigs for 35+ years has taken a toll on my throat and it is overly sensitive... so higher nic also makes me cough more.

For me... it seems that it is more about the action, the flavor and how thick the vapor feels... I've only recently noticed that using a higher VG ratio makes a big difference to what I perceive as satisfying. Oddly, the more interesting and complex flavors were less satisfying even when I enjoyed the flavor more... hence my looking for a simple non-aromatic type of tobacco style to use for an ADV ( style )

Well I do have something going for me.

I'm entering this game, after having bought out most of the "trinkets" that I could ever want..

I do have a go-to NET in Dragons Fire while I'm testing the new ones.

AND, I do have all of you to blame for the drop in finances.. :)

I had noticed when I ordered Rogue, Country Gentleman and Wicked Wench that Diane recommended 25% on those concentrates. I'm used to percentages of less than 5% with lab made tobacco concentrates, so 25% seemed a lot.

You are talking about something different... I ordered the pre-mixed e-liquid so the 6% I mentioned was related to the nic...

For mixing the DYI concentrates, it is typical to mix it up to 25% as you just mentioned.

I think only a couple of us bought the actual extract instead of the mixed NETs. The lab made tobaccos are concentrated so they are more concentrated than the extracts MVJ sells. My guess is 25% would be at the level they sell the NETs they mix, so if you went less it would be a lighter juice.

I got to a point where I had to stop looking for new mods, attys, tanks, drip tips, or any type of add-on. I, whenever I feel the need to look for something new, ask myself if there is something missing in my vape; if the answer is no, then I stop. My answer has been "no" for quite sometime. Now, when it comes to juice, that is where my addiction lies.

First impressions: Coffee-Infused Cigar by W2V

This NET is an extract from the Drew Estate Tobak Especial, and is the high vg premium tobacco at 90/10 vg/pg. The Tobak was the first premium cigar I've smoked. I thought it was great, with notes of chocolate and coffee. I liked it better than the ones in Drew Estate's ACID line. It's not cheap, $11 for the large ones. CIC from W2V tastes almost exactly the same as I remember the cigar, at a much cheaper price.

It's not as unique as Blond and CI. Someone who doesn't like those will have nothing to fear about this one. It's mainly a normal, premium cigar flavor with notes of coffee and chocolate. Overall it's not mild but not overly strong either. Very smooth and a full, round tobacco flavor, pretty top-notch cigar vape.

Nick.. if you end up liking that silica from RTD, here's the German seller on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silica-Rope...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item460dcb01ae

If I'm reading it right, shipping is only a couple dollars from Germany but even buying 5 meters it's more expensive than RTD. Still glad I found a back-up supplier if RTD stops carrying it, I won't go back to the regular stuff.

Mann, tried Dutch last night when the TH from my regular vapes wasn't doing it for me. I don't know why but I was really craving a kick; the 25mg helped a bit. Still wasn't too much and I vaped it this morning with no prob. It's good, I wasn't too crazy about it but I can see it growing on me. Like the Turkish it could easily fool me into thinking it's a NET, pretty impressive tobacco impact and a little bit funky.

Something that I've been thinking about the last few days...we have all these people breaking tobacco down into components...nicotine, other active alkaloids (WTA), essential oils (TA), flavors (NET macerations, etc), and then we have a bunch more people blending them all back together into e-liquids. Doesn't it seem like there must be a simpler and more efficient way to just do a whole tobacco extraction that gets it all at once?

I think if even all the nicotine in the leaves was extracted from a maceration, it would still result in a very low nic juice. Would have to start with leaves that have a much higher nicotine concentration. Just guessing here, very well could be wrong on that.

They are all very different processes. I don't see how you could do all three at once.

That's probably true, I think vaping is a less efficient nicotine delivery method compared to smoking, so added nicotine would probably still be required.

I don't know a way either, but it seems like something that would be in the realm of possibility.

For a down and dirty homestyle extraction method I actually think some kind of water maceration would be the closest thing to a whole tobacco extraction.

The amount of flavoring we can get from tobacco extraction is pretty high. Bill recently got, if I remember right, 300ml of vapable juice from extracting only a pack and a half of cigarettes. 300ml could keep even the heaviest vaper supplied for a month while that pack and a half would have been smoked in a day.

Rustica is very high in nicotine, but still probably not nearly enough to keep up.

Jerms,

The amount is even higher than I reported initially. That 300ml figure was based on the assumption that I'd mix my 100ml of extract at 33%. Since then, I've discovered that the extract tastes much better at 15%, with a max of 20%. That means that a pack and a half of cigarettes that were 2 1/2 years old gave me enough decent extract to make 500-700ml of DIY juice.

As an aside, I've also discovered that my Skydancer extract doesn't thrill me when mixed by itself. It's OK, but not great alone. Because the extract is made from regular cigarette tobacco, it's fairly simple, one-dimensional, and neutral. However, as the NET component in an NET-hybrid juice, it's wonderful!

To my delight, the DIY juice I can make with it is equally good as a tobacco blend (where I mix Skydancer extract with other NET extracts/juices or even synthetic tobacco flavorings), as a hybrid (with non-tobacco flavorings---all the usual suspects: vanilla, caramel, cocoa, coffee, liqueurs, maple, nuts, etc.), or finally, as all three together: Skydancer with NETs or synthetic tobaccos plus various non-tobacco flavorings. Doing the maceration was so easy, and mixing the DIY juices is so much fun! I've also got about ten bottles of Skydancer variations. My favorite right now is Skydancer Mocha, made with 15% Skydancer extract, 1% w2v London and 1% Louisville juices, five drops of Hangsen Turkish super-concentrate, plus 5% FA Coffee Espresso flavoring and 5% Halo Belgian Cocoa juice. Yum!

Now I'm jonesing to make an aromatic pipe or cigar extract. I'm limited by living in a tiny Oregon coast town with almost no tobacco sources, and sadly the shipping costs for pipe tobacco or cigars bought online is outrageous (like $10 per order). I did make a trip to the one liquor store in town and found a surprisingly nice selection of quality single cigars for $4-8. Didn't buy one yet, but I will. Now if I can just find a decent pouch of aromatic cherry pipe tobacco in Florence, I'll be all set.

Bill, check out cigar.com if you haven't yet. Shipping is normally $5.95 but there's often great deals. Right now they are offering free shipping if you buy any of their house blends, so it may be possible to add a $2 house blend cigar to make a whole order free shipping? The prices are great and they ship the cigars with a travel humidifier pouch. I recently got their deal of 10 premium cigars with a free humdior for $30.

Heads up; MVJ has released two Wicked Wench flavors, butterscotch and maple brown sugar.

Somebody buy them, hate them, and send them to me please.

I'm holding off on the Wench for now. Loaded up my other MVJ juices yesterday and I'm liking them better than I did initially. My Hero, MH Vanilla, and Rogue are pretty decent. You tried the My Hero B&B yet?
