I am new here and want to ask about NET's. I am not going to read 1189 pages to see if this issue has been addressed yet. I have tried tasty vapor NET and found that no matter what atty I throw at it, it kills it almost instantly. How do you guys enjoy your NET's without it killing the atty?

One more question. I have seen a review on El Toro Cigarrillos Naturales claiming them to be the king of all tobacco e-liquids. And that they are nearly the taste of a real cigarette. What are your opinions of this e-liquid?

Thank you guys.

NETs range from fairly clean to gunk up coils quick. I haven't had Tasty Vapor so don't know where they fall on that scale. I rotate rebuildable drippers, and get around a day per dripper, depending on what I'm vaping. They clean by rinse and dry burn. When I used standard atties, I would get about 3 days before doing my cleaning ritual with one. I've only had 2 NETs that I don't vape because of how quick they gunk, the rest have been managable.

As for the El Toro; every juice out there has someone who says it's the greatest ever and someone who says it's the worst ever. Comments like that tell a person nothing, unless it's from someone who you share tastes with. Cigarrillos from HouseofLiquid is a well made NET. Personally, I liked it the least from the El Toro line. For a cigar vape I found it pretty underwhelming, however you may love it if you try it. All of the El Toros are extremely clean NETs and are slow to gunk, and a few in the line I enjoyed quite a bit.

Hello your Majesty. I haven't found that Tastyvapor's NET is all that bad, coil-damage-wise. I vape it in a Phoenix with a stainless mesh wick, and it's just fine.

Cigarillos Naturales is pretty awesome but I don't like it as much as Puros from the same brand. It has a nutty finish almost like a 555.

Oooh finally, something I am familiar with. In regards to hydroponic growth, yes. You might be aware that commercial tobacco is seeded in styrofoam float beds which provide the optimal environment for young seedlings to grow (hydroponic babies). They are kept in these trays for roughly the first month of growth until the plants are about 6-10" in height where they are then transferred to the field. The problem with hydroponics is that the root system of tobacco needs to 'breathe', for lack of a better term. It doesn't mean that it can't work, however it is not optimal for the plant, at least in terms of traditional farming. But for people dealing with smaller numbers of plants and that have more time to devote to observing and tweaking the system a hydroponic system would definitely be possible. Tobacco grown the standard way is able to absorb its nutrients from the soil and is supplemented with fertilizer from the farmer. If your hydroponic system was able to provide all of the appropriate nutrients and proper fertilizer rates to the plant then I don't see why it wouldn't work.

In regards to the lights, we use both in our greenhouse but the medal halide lights are a higher intensity and used when we need faster growth. Think of it like this, the high pressure sodium is like an 85 degree day and requires less observation and tweaking, the medal halide lights however are like a 95 degree day and require careful observation as to not burn the plant. You could use either and get good results but if you want the quickest growth then I would use the medal halides, just watch for the tops of the plants and when you see wilting/burning, winch up the lights a few inches. We also use the medal halides exclusively for making crosses, if you do that sort of thing.

In response to extraction, I have no idea. I could ask a few of my co-workers who deal with this sort of thing but wouldn't have an answer until probably Wednesday.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed answers you've given me! I really appreciate it. :)

In a past life I was an indoor hydroponic gardener. I grew my own cooking herbs amongst other things. I also grew Orchids, but not via 'hydro'. So I have a lot of experience with indoor hyroponics, so I know all too well the difficulties like root breathing. These are what I use: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752196 or 8" if I can find them.

I would have 3 plants max and already have all of the all of the micro and macro nutrients, including Mycorrhiza fungus and buffered PH+ and -.

Mycorrhiza - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yep, the reason I asked about lighting is because HPS is more of a warm color, while MH is 'cool' in color. I'll probably just use a 600W bulb of each to have the full spectrum. I have a light mover and retractable hangers, so I'm good to go there.

Once moved from a rooting box to the DWC buckets, how long does it take the plants (in general) to be ready for harvest? Any visual cues I should look for?

Do you have a good source for quality Virginian tobacco seeds?

I've mad hybrids before, but I'm not looking to do that with tobacco. At least for now. I just want some well grown and cared for tobacco leaves for extraction.

Would you mind asking your co-workers for me? I don't mind waiting. It'll be a while until I have time to set the garden up.

Alright, I've changed my mind about fresh Sahara Blend. It's not as bland as I recall. But it's definitely not as robust as aged SB. So if you like it fresh, you'll like it with some age; maybe even love it!

I'm really enjoying DC, even though it, too, is young. It's a totally different take on Cigar NET.

I don't know how Wlad does it, but he must be a wizard. The man has serious skill in his craft.

I also got some EPipemods Pipe Sauce. This stuff is pretty good. Kentucky Bluegrass has a little bite. I recognize the flavor, but I'll not say it.

I don't think it's "medal halide" but instead "metal halide"

... sorry, spelling police have left the building... :D

Once could have been a typo... but 4 times is certainly a mistake in spelling

Long day yesterday. I'm surprised there aren't many more typos.

Yep, saw Joe's post earlier today. That's what I figured, third party thing. Took everything in me to not drop everything at work and order it. Just had to get the kiddos to bed... and just purchased my lightsaber. Woot!

You could always order a Nitcore charger and a couple of Panasonics, which would probably be delivered before your SVD.

Believe you me, I was tempted, too. By the time I had talked myself into it, they were back-ordered. I really don't want to wait that long, and probably shouldn't spend the money either, so.... :(

Yep, Nitecore are some of the best.

Nitecore Intellicharger. The i4 has 4 bays. Th can charge 26650,22650, 18650,18500, 18490, 19350, 17659, 17335, RC123, 14500 and Ni-MH/Ni-Cd AA, AAA and C rechargeable.

Auto shutoff, reverse polarity protection auto selection of charging mode.

I have 2 and absolutely love them.

This is a straight up Oriental with no frills or added flavors that I can find. Very mild like an Oriental should be, probably too mild for some of my com padres, but just about right for me. There's just a touch of sweet on the inhale, much like a pipe tobacco, but it's dry on the exhale giving it a cigarette-y type feel (feels like not tastes like). The sweet isn't sugary sweet, more like a cashew sweet. It's that "other" sweet than Mann talks about sometimes. Lots of flavor, decent vapor, light TH (yes I know it's 6mg, but that's what I'm used to so.... ). This is a high quality NET, two thumbs up.

So this isn't the first time I've noticed this, but occasionally when vaping some HHV juices like Legend or Dark Horse I am getting a bit of a vinegar or mustardy finish to them. Anyone else get this? These juices have both steeped for about six weeks.

Edit: It's not Dark Horse, but Dragons Fire that I'm getting this taste from.

I get an evaporation feel similar to the aftereffects of doing a shot of booze. I've gotten that from DF forever. I love it!

Another question for Newt.

One of the top NET vendors has had issues with the batches of tobacco extract being inconsistant, so that the same juice made from the same tobacco can change flavor from batch to batch. The explaination has been that it's because the tobaccos they use vary in quality depending on when they are in season and such climate factors as rain and the soil they grow in. Is this a legitimate factor in commercially bought tobacco? Is tobacco a crop that's difficult keep the end product consistant?

Sent from my LGL55C using Tapatalk 2

Jerms, I'm thinking because they use a cavendish that there are even more factors involved with the consistency.

I use Jello cups and PG to extract. Nothing to it. Pour PG to just cover the TB, nuke it 10 sec. Stir & chop then cover with Parafilm or Saran wrap for 24 hrs. Filter with 20cc syring with cotton ball in the bottom. The hardest part is paying $9 for one cigar. Blending tb's cost about the same as a bottle of Hangsen concentrate but you get 60 mls from an ounce of tb. Lots of variety like Green River Black Cavendish or Virginia Yellow. I've got 4 cigar flavors and 12 blending tb flavors so far.

Boomerdude, I would gladly pay for your home made extractions of Blond and Deluxe cigars. I think it's an absolute gem when someone home makes extractions. It's unique, it's one of a kind and it's like trying grandpa's home made wine. Precious.

Alright, this isn't tobacco related, but it is PV porn. Plus, I consider this my "home" on ECF. I got some great vape mail yesterday. Not pictured are all the liquids.

Has Tasty Vapor improved the clarity of their NET nowadays? Because the bottle sitting in front of me now definitely is a major atty killer. And I mean major. Is it more filtered now perhaps?

Patriot saving my life again... one night of drinking at a time.

Good job!! Seems you've found a juice that, while hanging out with smokers, is truly satisfying. Are you experiencing no cravings at all with Patriot? Have you tried Ahlusion Dulce Cubanito? I think it would work, too. BUT(!) my juice is still very young; a week plus a daymax.
Sahara Blend would be another that I think would kill any craving.

I think I just found a new NET!!

Tobacco | Nude Nicotine

Their operation seems super legit and the way they go about business reminds me of the way Wlad/Ahlusion do it. A lot!

I just sent the owner an email asking how he extracts. Maybe he'll say, maybe he won't. Either way. I've got a 30ml coming. I also have 10ml bottles of Honey Tobacco and Island tobacco, along with some Pumpkin pie, Blueberry Mojito, and Peaches & Cream.

I'll let y'all know what I think. As best as I can.

Shat, looks like a root beer barrel atop that mech! :)

OH!!! You're right. Pics don't do it justice. Glass, especially art glass is so difficult to get god pics even when you're using good techniques. I use a light box with lights in the room off, but "photo lights" (don't knew the real name) on the outside of the box to diffuse it and cause no glare or shadows, but even then it's not guaranteed to be great.

Their NETs are cloudy and yellow (not clear) a la Virgin Vapors without the floating brown chunks, and the 10 mls come in a plastic test tube... I admire what they're going for, but the comparison to a urine sample is inescapable.
