I know theres alot of different kinds of cartos that are similiar to the CE2 but I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on which kind is best for flavor? I love the way the CE2 Deluxe models vape but they just add a weird, plastic-like taste to all my juices...I have a VV device so I tried it on different volts but they always taste weird. I still haven't tried CE3's...do they taste the same? is there anything else I could try similar to these that give a good, genuine taste?

CE2s seem to work for some and some they don't. They are by far my favorite carto but can require some fiddling to get them performing optimally. I just saw a review on a new fillerless carto at the link below. Not much other info on them yet but they do look promising without the fuss of the CE2. Might want to check those out.

I don't, for me they are the next best thing to dripping I've found. I do have to flip them if the tank is getting low to get it wet around the coil before each vape but that's natural to me now.

Doesn't sound like your having wicking issues as that usually results in a harsh burn taste. You could try removing the seal that goes around the ceramic cup to see if that helps. If it does you can widen the area around the wick slots and put it back in.

yeah its definitely not a wicking problem i've done all the tricks...its vaping really well it just seems to make the juice taste weird. i read that some people soaked theirs in vinegar or something before they even use them. if i didn't get that strange taste mixed in with the juice these things would be freakin perfect for me

That could be it also. They aren't supposed to have any primer in them and I haven't had any issues with it but that would explain your off taste. They're easy to clean so try soaking it and either let it air dry or press the wicks between a paper towel to dry them fast then do a dry burn until you see the coil glowing orange.

For a dry burn I do 5 second or so pulses letting it cool a few seconds in between until the coil glows. If everything is dry it doesn't take long. That should get rid of anything that's not supposed to be in them.

I love my XL CE2s but they do taste a little different compared to an atomiser or filling type cartomiser to me. I'm stuck with one voltage so I can't fiddle with that. They're lower resistance than my atomisers and cartos and with the coil much closer, yeah... it's slightly different. I only really notice it on sweeter flavours though. Still, they're second to none for me for a tank system that can handle VG with a little fiddling.

Over time they do develop a slight plasticy taste but it's nothing a solid dry burn doesn't fix imho.

It could be under wicking slightly? I just cut the inner seal slots a little bigger and it tastes just perfect. If I don't do it with vg it's one hit after holding it upside down for a few minutes that's ok then the second hit is mostly burnt wick tasting and not that awesome. Worth a shot to just snip them a tiny bit wider or raise the seal a tad.

The CE3 I have no experience with because I know it's not going to wick VG :( but with the coil at the bottom it could change the taste again. I wouldn't get CE3s if I was a pg vaper because the little cork thing you need tweezers to pull out and put in just seems like more hassle than it's worth but that's just me.

The best tasting tank-ish device I've had yet for vg was the EMDCC (Ego mega dual coil cartomiser). It had no wicking problems and was really good on flavour. The biggest drawback was loss of vapour warmth using it on my ego with it being so big and that it looks silly on my 650mAh battery lol. I still prefer the CE2 over it by quite a bit though.

So far I have NOT been happy with any carto/tank that does not contain filler material. The vapor is too saturated with liquid for me. I prefer the smooth, dryer vape I get with filler material. And with my method of filling a JOYE 510 carto, I don't experience dumping of juice in my mouth until the carto is close to being drained. Not near as much as with a eGo-T, CE3 or 510 tank.

Going to re-post this here (is a wall of text so be warned)

My fluxomizer journey to date:

Ordered: GotVapes FLuXomizer™ DeLuXe CLEAR NoTint 510 REG .9ml 2.6-2.8ohm, 2 packages. Received 2 packages of 5 ea. devices. Had researched this product (you tube, ECF forum, other forums, etc.) and suspected that these devices would not be "ready to go" right out of the package; low and behold, I was right.

I am also a noob to vaping - like direct dripping but do not like the process; use cartos but do not like the flavor reduction due to the carto filling material.

So - the .9ml devices came packaged in a foam grid (all the videos I saw showed the product in a foil/cellophane like package), also no middle O ring; thought that perhaps I had received the wrong product. E-mailed GotVapes (twice) in regards to packaging and no O ring, did get 2 replies that the .9ml size have no O rings and that sometimes the smaller size is shipped in foam. OK let's give this product a try. (BTW have to use an illuminated 10x stand mounted magnifying glass to even see the parts on these things seems I am getting older by the minute).

Read the directions and decide to try one as is out of the box. Try to use the provided filling needle -will not fit in the holes provided so try the "drilling" method as per one of the how to videos. Rubber plug filled the needle (no way to remove the rubber) rendering the supplied needle useless. What now - wait, I have an injectable grade needle (aka sharps); manage to orient the beveled side against the tube and very gently slide this needle past the bottom plug and successfully "fill" with juice.
Wait perhaps two minutes and can see that the wick at the ceramic cup is wet so take vape - horrible burned flavor; wait perhaps another five minutes, vape again - horrible burned flavor. What now?

Do some more research and find out that perhaps you need to "pre-burn" the wick and that preburning is not recommended with the bottom plug in place. Time for bottom plug removal. Review how to videos and proceed with bottom plug removal; promptly broke ceramic cup; tried again on a different tube and destroyed bottom plug. So now have ruined two devices.

Do some more research and find the trick of removing the tube from the battery connection; try this on two broken devices, works and manage to make a workable device from the parts. Proceed to clean and dry burn the wick - fill with juice - take vape and WOW. Had a vv device @ 4.2v, immediately reduced it to 3.7v and double WOW; great vape. Moved fluxomizer to standard eGo type 3.7v device, and still WOW. When working, the vape from the fluxomizer is incredible.

For the heck of it, kept the time spent on "fiddling" with this product (would use another "f" word but not polite, and when working is an unbelievable vape); have spent over 14 hours "fiddling" now have seven usable devices out of 10.

Other issues: have not been able to get the bottom plug to fully re-seat as it comes from the factory; when in a horizontal position the devices will leak (overnight); dry hits - hold upside down - count one, two, three - no more dry hit. One leaks from the battery connector; I probably damaged the breathing tube connection with my "fiddling". Have not cracked a tube.

As of right now the "jury is out" for me in regards to this product. When working, INCREDIBLE VAPE, "fiddling" to get working, not great at all. Do not know anything about long term use; with shipping costs me about $2.20 each; have refilled 2 four times.
These things just eat the juice.

Sorry for the wall of text - but perhaps this might provide some help to you or others.

BTW, at this time I will choose to believe that the people at GotVapes are really trying to develop a superior vaping product; and if successful should reap financial rewards.

Just not quite there yet.

Follow up - plastic taste (IMHO) is caused by the proximity of the lower/notched cup to the ceramic cup; when slightly offset no rubber/plastic taste.
