She had a MVP2 with 1.8ohm coils in a Kanger Pro tank 3. It is hard to imagine there being anything simpler than that.

I'm trying to understand.

She has a simple system that works for her, but since technology has changed, she should upgrade and/or take up sub-ohm vaping?

in my opinion every vaper should at least know how to replace a pre-made coil in their tank setup. I'm not saying they should go out and learn ohm's law and learn about voltage drops and contact points, etc..

So what? I can do all those things........but prefer not to. I love my simple setup with single coil over the counter evods and ego type stuff.

Unless there are specific things "Mom" is unhappy with, I see no reason to run out and spend money just because, esp. if she is enjoying what she is using now.

iStick is not good at really low watts.

The istick is not at all tolerant of any kind of single coil or lower voltage vaping. I guess she could use it with her protank 3 if she would prefer a "box mod" over a stick batt?

Keep in mind a more advanced setup will also probably consume way more ejuice than she is probably using now, and the consumables are more expensive, as are the actual delivery devices themselves.

Kangertech e-smart BCC kit

She'll be on the charger every 2 hours of the day with the esmart. ....that, and re-filling up tiny clearomizers.

Can you tell us exactly WHAT part of "more" that Mom is looking for? I could understand more battery life, etc.

Having a couple of backup batteries makes it a non-problem.
As for refilling: for me, it was never a problem , I do it on the fly, in any situation. To have a couple of prefilled ones is also a solution.

But of course, as always: YMMV.

I think the answer you are looking for is no, there have been no groundbreaking advancements in the realm you mother is vaping at. There are devices that will do more now in the $40 -$50 range, but it would probably be best just to get her a couple 20/30 watt iSticks and a Nuatulis. I am assuming you don't want her to have to fiddle with removable batteries.

My mom is the queen of Tootle Puffers but has trouble even changing an old coil. This question has been asked but the choices and technology have changed.

What is the most bullet proof, easiest to use set up, I can get for her.

She had a MVP2 with 1.8ohm coils in a Kanger Pro Tank 3. It is hard to imagine there being anything simpler than that.

I should add that she uses 0mg nic juice so a cigalike is out of the question. Plus she wouldn't like it.

Maybe an Evod kit? I do not know so any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Then my wife and daughter in law are the tootling Princess's.

They drive iSticks, 20 and 30w.

At tootle levels the battery last for days. The settings could not be easier. The 20 only uses super high ohms but the 30 does almost everything. If she may like clouds a Subtank Nano with the 1.2 or 1.5 coils is a pretty much bullet proof set up.

Racehorse, the MVP 2.0 is dead. She liked it as a unit while it worked. She is like most of us and would like to try something new or at least different. That is where I come in.

The nautilus (which I have used) is the tank that I have decided to get her. The coils are a touch larger and she will like the afc option. I would give her mine but my friend is using it. I got him off the stinkies 1/1/15 and he is ready to quit vaping if he hasn't already. I have the SS cover for the tank if she wants that.

The protanks are my old ones and she is ready for a change there.

I was going to give her my Istick but she just doesn't need it.

Amoret she would love any one of those set ups. Are those wraps you have on them?

As far as ohm's law and safety, that is also where I come in. I am not going to give her ( my mother) a device that does not have the safety features that the MVP2 has. I am not going to set her up with a coil or tank that is not compatible with the battery I purchase. I use mechs and regulated devices with RTA's and RDA's and have educated myself on safety. Nothing is 100% safe but it is not hard to be safe. Some threads I have read it is not hard to be dangerous either. It is all in the equipment you use.

I started with the MVP2 and a kanger pro tank and as I learned I bought different equipment. Almost everything I learned was right here on ECF.

Thank you to all that participate, contribute, and are sharing in this thread!

I wouldn't give my mother anything but a ProVari 2.5. I don't trust the safety features and board/chip reliability of any other mod...

My Mom is like 680 years old. She does alright with new stuff, even has an iPhone abit a 4.

If she vaped the VERY LAST choice for a mod would be my Provari 2.5. With that ......ed one button menu my phone would be ringing non-stop.

A big part of elderly mother maintainace is being selecting items for them with awareness of how much support I have to provide.

I'm no electronics whiz kid, I prefer tractors, power tools and pickumup trucks, but I can figger basic stuff out without to much trouble and I HATE the Provari menu. Basically I just find a place it will work at all and live with it. No fine tuning that thing.

I would recommend a Joyetech E-Grip. Everything is built into one device. No mixing and matching of mods and tanks, which can be a bummer for some (but not the ones who just want it to vape!), means that there are NEVER any leaks.

My girlfriend manages to DESTROY several tanks and batteries that I've bought for her (at least one a month), but the E-Grip has actually lasted two months, and I have a feeling it will last closer to two years... or whenever the battery is too short for her liking.

Two things I must mention are that there is a rubber gasket on the juice filling door that you need to be mindful of. First, there is ONE spare available in the box, but if you lose the original and the spare... you can't get replacements anywhere else (as far as I'm aware of. Secondly, coils are changed from the bottom, but you need a tool whether it be a coin or a screwdriver. This could be a benefit if you can find a screwdriver or something that fits her hand well enough... it would make a very nice grip for when she changes coils. Only bummer is that the coils don't seem to last that long. There are rebuildable bases, which make it easier to have a few rebuilt coils lined up and ready to replace... but I doubt your moms would even care to rebuild a coil. But you could have a few of them set up for her. Or just have several pre-built coils ready for replacement. Either way... the E-Grip itself is a tank [and battery] that's actually build like a tank!

So I pulled the trigger on an Innokin VV3 and a Nautilus tank for Mom.

The VV3 is similar to the MVP2 in how it operates so it will be familiar and with the larger coils I think this will be a winning set up.

Amoret can I ask where you purchased your wraps?

Thank you for all of your suggestions and comments. I really do appreciate you and ECF!

Good choices. My mom is also a tootie puffer. I got her off cigarettes about a year ago. I bought her 2 ego kits for Christmas. Not long after that I bought her 2 MVP 20w and 2 iclear 30s tanks. I hate those tanks but she loves them. I also make all of our ejuice. She lives 4 hours away from me so I just mail her juice and coils when she gets low. She loves the MVP. I've tried to get her onto other newer mods and tanks but she won't budge. I too, use RDA/RBAs and more advanced mods. She will try mine but that's it. She doesn't want anything that isn't simple. I have bought her different tanks but she gives them back.

Mothers! What can a do but love them! o_O
