You guys are awesome! It is so nice to see such an enthusiastic positive response. :) Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. I am doing my homework on them now.

OldLadyO thanks for the suggestion on flavor. "Mint" has so many variations. That is what pushed me to the camel crush in the first place. Nothing else was cool enough. I may take back what I said earlier about sticking to the one flavor. Found a site with some that look really interesting.
:) Ok. Back to research. You guys are too amazing! XOXOX

Full size subtank (25mm) in rba mode is too tight for lung inhale. I’m really disappointed for that.
While mini and nano are satisfying for both mouth-lung & lung inhale. I use 2 mini now, filled with different juice each.
(After more than 35 years, I quit smoke 3 packs daily since 4 months ago, day 2 with pv.)

I completely missed your post. Thank you for the opinion on the draw of the tank. I am worried I will get a loose draw and feel like I did with the crap Blu~like sticks. Having trouble finding all the different parts on one vendor and bouncing around with parts in my head so finally going post by post and writing all the suggestions down to see what I have. =)

Am having trouble finding in stock on sites so went to a couple local shops here... They are asking $30+ the price of the online shops. *sigh* Guess I am waiting a bit until stuff is stocked again. Thank you again guys. =) You have been amazing.

Unfortunately, if you are looking at getting the iStick 50W, it seems to be in short supply in most places. I think I saw a few sites that said they were getting more stock in towards the end of this month. One thing you may also want to consider when price shopping the iStick (I'm not sure if this is the one you have decided on). What I have seen by reading the fine print is that some of the cheaper sites are selling the battery by itself, with the more expensive ones selling the "kit", which includes the battery, micro USB cable, charger block, and the 510/ego adapter. If you have a 1 amp smartphone micro USB charger at home, then you really don't need the charger that comes with the kit. With all the smartphones that my family have purchased over the years, we have way more chargers laying around than we know what to do with. We pretty much have at least one phone charger plugged into every room in the house except for the bathrooms. The 510/ego adapter is a standard adapter that can be ordered anywhere for just a couple of bucks.

When I got the iStick it was an impulse buy when I was in a B&M, so I know I overpaid by $30. I've accepted that and am ok with it.

Jseah, I spoke with the shop keeper and told him all of the suggestions you guys have made. He almost had me convinced that I needed an ipv2 mini but he didn't have any in stock and was waiting for a few in the mail expected any moment. I said I'd go back tomorrow. After coming home and looking into it more I saw some really negative info. He had an iStick 50w in magenta. I do like the color but it would be difficult to conceal. (Not that vapor is easy to hide either.) But he wanted 30$ more than what a site I found that actually has it in stock wanted. I am not wanting to pay that much over if I don't have to. I am not far from Dallas and Austin so I am likely to find much better deals there. I will be calling around tomorrow. I feel bad for taking this guys time if I am not going to buy his product but the price is so much higher. =/ It's disappointing. So back to my research to make sure I don't screw this up.

I keep seeing the rDna but then people are saying the Evolve chip is not as good as it should be. So, hell, IDK.

Unfortunately once you realize how easy it is to quit smoking by vaping, it is easy to get carried away buying gear. Fortunately, many of the gear are fairly inexpensive, so an unintended purchase doesn't hurt too bad (unless you are shopping for mods in the $200+ range),

Of course you're doing things the right way by doing your research before buying. In one step you're basically getting to where it took me three or four steps to get to. If I had done what you're doing now, I could have probably spent 1/3 of what I have actually spent on gear.

Hey all!

Here is my background... I smoke 3 packs of camel crush bolds a day Always crushed to get menthol. About six months ago I went to a shop in Katy Tx and asked for help picking an ecig alternative that would take the place of cigarettes. I specifically asked for variable something because I knew I might not be impressed with whatever I was sold. They allowed me to try their branded item and it was alright enough for me to buy. $100. I have not even used a tank worth of juice. The flavor is great! "Hells frozen over" (cinnamon & peppermint). But I *NEED* more vapor and throat hit to be able to switch. Obviously I am spending quite a bit on cigarettes ($500+ a month) and if I can switch over entirely then I can justify pumping a little more into a purchase. But after a week of non stop research... I am in the same place I started. For the most part anyway. It appears that I would be better off with a sub ohm system? I really do not like the shape of a box. I'd prefer the cylinder type battery thing. (Haha! See? Not even entirely sure of the name. Ugh! just too many options. :( ) However, if a box works best for my needs then so be it. I have seen a million reviews point I to the Provari but that doesn't sub ohm. I do not have the desire to manually build a machine myself thought screwing together parts is expected. Duh. So basically I am looking for the right combination of parts to fit together to give me a good throat hit and sufficient amount of vapor to drop these cancer sticks. I chain smoke them when possible. My fingers are almost brown at times... generally yellow stained. I need one good solid set up. One purchase. I have zero income right now. (Just finished my degree and looking for a good job.) I can't have a plethora of products to choose from. I also need the complete list of parts I will need to make this happen. What I have now I two pieces. A battery and refillable liquid holder. I realized that the more advanced machines come a little more broken down. Now, I realize also your first thought is that I am too new and have no idea of any of this so start with something easy and work your way up. But again, I can't afford trial and error financially. I really, truly need, if at all possible, to be directed to one end solution that will carry me through. Have no fear... whatever I end up getting, I will know everything about before I even touch it. Thanks for reading and any responses you may have.

Needs: replacement for three pack a day habit. Solid throat hit. (I smoke bold menthol) Sufficient vapor to fill lungs. (My biggest part of the addiction). Can be as advanced as needed. Will hope to grow and stick with this product for at least a year. Price... I am prepared to spend more as I am replacing a $500+ habit with a different one. But no sense in going wild. I am using tax return on this one purchase.

Thanks again!
Pam

Get an istick30, a magma rda, and some 30 and 28 gauge kanthal.
You'll have your existing tank to use while you try out your rda; using an rda is like getting in the kitchen and making your own thing instead of sitting at a table waiting to be served.

Brandon, is the Evolve chip better than the YiHi? The two major options I have seen in boxes seem to be one or the other. I saw some people dripping yesterday at the shop I went to. It looks like it could be fun as a past time but I didn't get as much of a look into it as I could have and I am looking for an option to use while out. Driving, working, etc.

Edyle, Iwill look at that. Thank you. =)

Alright, I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

1x Genuine Aspire™ Atlantis Sub Ohm Glassomizer
1x Genuine Aspire™ Nautilus MINI (BVC) Glassomizer
1x Genuine Kanger™ Subtank MINI Hybrid Tank
1x Genuine Eleaf™ iSmoka iStick 50W Box Mod Kit

I kept getting equal responses back and forth over the aspire vs. kanger tanks. Did not order any extra heads or anything else for now. With three tanks I should have plenty of time to try them out and decide which brand & sub/norm ohm I prefer and still be able to have time to make & receive an order for new heads. I am not sure if I need to close this thread or whatever since the original question was asked. However, if it stays open I will update once I get a feel for everything. =) Thanks again guys! I am sure I will have a TON more questions as I go along. (No worries, I will check these forums first.) But while I wait for shipping PBusardo's videos are getting a run for their money. I am trying to get everything I can without bugging you guys. =)

Pamela

Eta: whoa! Just got an email that it had shipped. How the heck do they get an order out in 10 minutes??! :) Excited. (Can you tell? Lol!)

Congrats on your new gear, I'm sure at least one of those tanks will deliver what you're looking for :) Nice choices.

Good luck with all those new toys. I just ordered an Aspire Nautilus and picked up an Aspire Nautilus Mini today as well. Have heard good things about it and decided to try it. I've heard that the Nautilus is better for us mouth to lung vapers.

EDIT: Just tried the Nautilus Mini and I think you will prefer this tank to the Kanger. It has a really tight draw and I think it will be perfect for you. At the smallest air opening, you get that milkshake through a straw feeling.

Thanks guys. I am going to grab a liquid locally. He had a sale going and I found a flavor I liked (tiger's blood). I do love the cinnamon / mint (fire/ice) but it was suggested that those strong flavors may burn with the sub ohm. He lets people come in (vapor bar) and use his liquids and socialize. So I will have the opportunity to try the one I liked when I went in yesterday on my own system and make sure it is perfect without getting stuck with a bottle. He can also help make sure I got the tank down and understand the settings. I hope to have very few questions when I go but it is nice to be able to ask in person. Just bought, what I hope is, my last few packs of smokes. I had a patty melt yesterday from Freddy's Steakburger... normally great. Yesterday the only way I could taste anything was by putting mustard on it. I have absolutely no sense of flavor. I couldn't taste my favorite amazing Schmaltz sandwich a couple few weeks ago. Only flavors that make it through are sweets right now. It's time. =)

Jseah, thank you. I will try the Nautilus first then. If I fall in love I can keep other two sealed and recoup funds for more.

Sounds good; phil (pbusardo) is great at giving succinct reviews; speaks clearly and doesn't waste time rambling.

Don't hold back on the questions; many of us saved money asking questions here, and now just here to pay it forward for the next batch.

Thank you Edyle. Like I said in the beginning, I didn't expect to even get a response. Most forums don't actually engage. You guys have been amazing. I am very excited. =) Also, I ordered from vapor authority. They sent me an email within 20 (closer to 10 really) minutes that it had shipped. So will update you guys on the company as well. It's always good to have a backup to purchase from and check prices.

Battery - VaporShark. Cost allot but it works!! You will never get a burned hit. New technology that will be copied by many in the future and you will not need to buy another device in a LOOOOONG TIME!

Tank - Well. Throat hit, I would go with Aspire, but you will need to keep buying coils. So maybe a Kanger subtank mini or a eLeaf Lemo....Or even just a RDA.

MagicJosh,

I looked at the VaporShark rDna40. I almost went ahead and got both that and the iStick. May still buy it. I was loving the device charging. =) There was something about it though that I wasn't sure about so I went iStick for now. I can't remember what it was. Do you own this mod? How has it been for you?
