Sending prayers for your baby. Could it be Bell's Palsy??? That would be pretty benign, happens in humans from nerve compression and can go away on it's own. Just looking for maybe a best case scenario. Either way you are both in my prayers and thoughts.

Thats my "old man" Kiki in my avatar, 14 yr old Boston terrier. I thank God for each day I have left with him!

You guys all rock! I knew I'd get wonderful support here from my fellow PIF'ers. Seriously, each of you have made me smile. Thank you. :)

Lulu: I actually had Bells Palsy a few years ago for 4 months. I thought that's what it was, too. The Vet said that what she has is similar to Bells Palsy in that it's paralysis of the facial muscles, but it's still different. He did say that depending on what it is, there IS a chance that it'll go away on it's own. So, keep your fingers crossed that it's something that will go away and nothing serious......

Prayers and happy thoughts for all. I know it would devastate me if something happened to my dog Buddy, well any of my pets. I once spent the whole weekend force feeding my cat, Prissy, egg yolk with a little milk and Pedialyte. I had a ton of scratches for it but the vet said had I not done that she would have died. Now it seems like her and I have a special bond. I wish all the best for you and yours!

So, to give an update, we found out today that Missy has lymphoma that's attacked her nervous system and a tumor on her brain stem. We're going to start chemo pills and prednisone which should help some but the facial paralysis is most likely permanent. The neurologist said that this should prolong her life but for an unknown amount of time.

Well, at least we have some more time to spend with her and make her as happy as she can possibly be before she leaves us.

Thank you again to each of you.

I am so sorry the prognosis was not better autumn. As I'm sure you are. :( I will pray for a "miracle". I know hope is often replaced by disappointment, but my soul mate cat lived seven years longer than they said she would. But, no matter what, your love and gentleness with her will mean everything to your Missy and you will know you made her world better.

Awe... Hey I have had several dogs that have become... "family members" I totally understand the emotional upset that comes with bad news... (or the possibility of). Most of our pets love us unconditionally... something people rarely do... I pray that all is well with your sweet Missy... She is truly a beautiful dog!
