The Derringer is about as small as it gets. For kicks I decided to get out my Magma and clean and rebuild it last night, havent used it in a couple months. After about 30 minutes I was back to the Derringer. I'm still considering a Freakshow though. There's a B&M close to my house that has em for $25, I just hope they're legit knowing how stores usually mark things up compared to online shops..
$25 - $29 is about right for the retail on an authentic Freakshow Mini. I wouldn't worry.

They actually have both the regular and mini for $30.. Been tempted but, will the Freakshow do single coils or does it need duals?? I was about to just grab another Derringer, this time in stainless, since Vapor Range has em for $10 with free shipping right now.. ALMOST bought the new MutationX V4 the other day but that looks like it wont do singles very well because of the airholes..

I was the biggest Derringer fanboy until i got my Samurai Bonsai RDAs... hands down slaughter the derringer in terms of flavor, ease of build, and options. I bought one of each of the two clones out on the market right now... the 1:1 and the the one that is 1:1 but the top "ring" is a few millimeters taller (and has a different insulator style).

You get that intense flavor because it's just as small as the derringer... but then everything else you get is so much better. I'm actually liking the clone that is a tad taller as it just seems to help the flavor for some reason. It comes with two "shower" caps, one short (pictured) one taller and the traditional top styled section that fits regular drip tips.

I wont be ordering an authentic as i prefer the "taller" clone over the 1:1; however, you simply can't go wrong with either clone or authentic.

Damn dude why did you have to post that Samurai?? I think Im gonna grab one from Angelcigs now haha. In their pics it even looks like you can close off one side of the airflow for single coils too..

Yeah, I had to order one myself. Also grabbed a Haze Mini while I was at it.

I have both the derringer and the FSM. As far as well depth, the derringer holds more liquid. As far as flavor, to me they're comparable. The derringer is easier to build on imho. You really have to spend the time to get a good center coil build on the FSM. Both are great in single coil mode (that's all I run - entered a cloud comp as an extra body with my derringer...will NEVERTHELESS do dual coils in it again - was way too hot for me).

I'm not big into drippers. But my favorite is Magma. But the darn thing is so heavy and bulky. I'm looking to get something light weight, and smallish for some of the smaller VW devices I currently use tanks on. Something similar to Derringer. Or maybe Mini Freakshow. I'm not familiar with either of these... just window shopping at Kidney Puncher. Any suggestions ?
Try the hobo v2 has amazing flavor and good vapour production not to mention very nice look

I just bought a Mini Haze. I will report back here when I have vaped it. I also find that single coil is the way to go with my Derringer because of the heat. I use a delrin tip, but your lips are just so close to the coils that they still get singed.

My Tobeco Derringer didnt come with a drip tip so I picked up the longer 15mm delrin tip from Avid Vaper for it, no issues with heat or anything. Although the other day I managed to overfill it just a tad bit and actually sucked some juice up out of it hah. At least its good to know my juice I made literally tastes like grape candy! ;)

OK. The Haze Mini is amazing. I bought a 1:1 clone off a UK supplier for £15.
In short, it's all the things I wanted the Derringer to be, except it achieves them.

The deck is roomy and very easy to build on. With a nice thick o-ring similar to the Mutation X V3, it has not leaked once. The airflow wide open with the wide bore drip tip is massive. The optional dual air slots allow air to hit the coil, and below it. I find it MUCH cooler to vape than the Derringer (which scorches my lips even at low power), the extra 4mm of barrel height might have something to do with this. The flavour is outstanding, and it throws serious plumes even with a moderate build.

At the moment I have dual 26G coils ID2mm, 2 ohms @40W. But based on the performance and airflow headroom. I'm going to go for a lower build next.

Alright I gotta chime back in here.. My Samurai clone from Angelcigs arrived this afternoon and man, BYE BYE DERRINGER. I was being lazy and stuck one of the coils that came with it in so I could just start using it, its a 28ga with I THINK 7 maybe 8 wraps (might even have been 6 cant remember) around 2mm, comes in at 0.5 ohms and daaaaaaaaamn.. Both vapor and flavor are killing my little Derringer! Of course this isnt really a fair comparison cause my Derringer has a 29ga 8 wrap@2mm and hits 1.5 ohms (its also a micro coil, the Samurais were spaced out) but holy crap, I love it so far. Im vaping just a single one, with one airflow slot completely open at 18 watts and yep.. I shouldve bought 2 for how cheap they were. This rda may have finally sealed the fate of my 3 Kayfun 4s which after getting my Derringer had already become an unsatisfying vape to me. I guess I just gotta learn how to drip while driving now hahaha..

My only complaints I can even come up with are the AFC ring was a PAIN to get off when I took it apart to clean it, and the steel does seem to be a bit thin, but thats my Magma and my gigantor Kayfuns Im comparing it to. I got the black ringed one and didnt get the black drip tip but hey, China. Oh yeah and this thing is sucking down juice like theres no tomorrow but its soooooooooo awesome.. Good thing I just made another 180ml the other day. Probably gonna be gone by tomorrow at the rate Im vaping it hah. ;)

Its just a leeeetle bit taller than the Derringer but to be honest, I dont care, this thing aint coming off my Sigelei Mini now. EVER.

EDIT: Hmm after playing with Steam Engine just now throwing the numbers in.. The coils it came with are 7 wraps, pretty sure theyre 2mm cause my cotton yarn fits in it just like my own coils I make and I couldnt get my 2.4mm screwdriver through it.. According to the numbers I put in, this must be more like 24 gauge wire.. Its certainly a hell of a lot thicker than my 29gauge stuff.
