Can you or someone explain to me the diff between pg & vg, meaning ingredients and such, I read that pg has antifreeze, if this is true, does vg also have it?

Do you do any vg juices also?

Pg is found in antifreeze, but NOT dangerous. Just like water is found in many toxic substances, but not dangerous itself. It is also used as an air sanitizer in hospitals, schools, and restaurants. It is classified by the FDA as safe for human consumption, and is in many things you consume every day, like food colorings. A small number of people are allergic to it, and some people get a mild sore throat when using it a lot.

No. Different substances. A lot of e-cig liquids use some of each.

PG is propylene glycol. Only used in expensive antifreeze so if you drink it you won't die. People use that kind in their hot tubs in the winter because antifreeze tastes sweet and pets will drink it.

PG is "generally regarded as safe" by the FDA. It is in all kinds of foods, cough syrup, asthma inhalers, etc. Known for it's ability to keep things in suspension and it's antibacterial properties. It is also used to make the fake fog and smoke in theatrical productions. Your local pharmacist will sell you some, or you can get it by the gallon at feed stores.

VG is vegetable glycerin. There is also plain glycerin, which is the same molecule derived from something other than a vegetable. You can get it at hobby and crafts stores for adding to baking, candies, etc. Wal-Mart pharmacies sell it also.

Propylene Glycol is used as a Green alternative to antifreeze by Green Concious folks as well as pet owners...As lotus stated many pets or animals will drink antifreeze that has leaked from a leaky outdoor spa or hot tub...Normal antifreeze contains ethylene glycol...

crafty-myra, I think you're confusing propylene glycol with the stuff that the FDA found traces of in a couple of other brands - diethylene glycol. The FDA found diethylene glycol, which is dangerous and used in anti-freeze, of course. But that was in one of the premade cartridges sold by Smoking Everywhere or njoy NOT drew's USA-made liquids.

Propylene glycol is used to make McCormick imitation flavorings like vanilla and cinnamon. It's also in toothpaste and a lot of other foods we consume. It's considered food-safe by the FDA and safe for inhalation by the EPA.

Don't worry about PG (propylene glycol) It's a common mistake though - the media is forever mixing the two up and calling the anti freeze stuff propylene glycol when it's diethylene glycol the FDA was worried about!
