As the title says need some help. Been reading my a@$ off on this and various other sites . I'm going to order my Nic. Pg and vg with ahanfull of flavorings to get started and try as I've read to KISS keep it stupid simple stupid. I know the answer but I'm asking anyway. I have no reactions to any or all ingredients, I would like some throat hit like a smoke not harsh just so you know your smokin on something. And I would like good vapor production with no aftertaste or any favors beside the mixes I'm intending to make. When I order my Nic ,was thinking 50/50 pg/vg oh and more mix friendly for a noob. Ordering through MFS and lean towards creamy and sweet... Any help is much appreciated and happy vapes to all.

50/50 sounds good for what you want: throat hit and vapor....I'd maybe suggest getting 75/25 PG/VG, or getting a bottle of 100% PG nic base to add, in case you want more throat hit or flavor from the PG... The amount of nicotine will have a lot to do with throat hit, also the device/coil will have a large effect towards it. I haven't done any DIY, but I know there is a wealth of people who do over in the DIY sub-forum, which you can view, currently, and post on once you get 15 posts in here...

Good luck! :) welcome

I read that the nicotine amount and the pg amount make the throat hit , although I got liquids of the same nic and pg and some have a stronger throat hit than others. So that means the flavour must have some impact.
An increase in voltage also to me makes the vape stronger but up to a point. I have so far found a good hit from 70pg 30vg and 60pg 40vg.
I read how pg is for the hit and vg for the vapor but perhaps for me more vapor can give me a good th as well , that is up to a point of still having enough pg in it , not tried higher vg liquids yet.
Liquids I have tried so far have had a set pg/vg ratio I have some in delivery were you could choose so I went for 65pg 35 vg and after that I may get some that have the next lower level of nic but from the same companies I have already tried to see what if any difference that makes.

MFS is a fine vendor for nic.
There are a few others to consider (Wizard Labs maybe) but they're good...
Are you planning to get 100 mg/ml concentrated nic, and then dilute down to make your liquid, or are you getting it at a strength close to what you vape? The only limitation with 50/50 is this: Since your flavorings are in PG, when you add them, you end up with a mixture that is MORE than 50% PG. Which might be what you want, but might not! The MOST flexible option is to start with high concentrated nic (100 mg) and then add PG and VG (with NO nic) to make your blend.

I HIGHLY recommend you get and play with and use a Calculator for mixing - I like this one a lot: eJuiceMeUp.

You tell it what your starting with: Nic/Base/Concentration, and flavors - and tell it what PG/VG you want and what % of flavors - and it gives you a recipe: how many mls of each liquid to blend.

Take it slow, check the DIY threads and ask the folks there questions...and have fun.

All my "commercial" liquids are sitting, because I like my own better!
And I now mix up my favorite in a 100 ml batch - costs me maybe $6.
:D

Thanks for the welcome after more reading I think you onto something with the 75/25 vg in high percentages mellows out the favors as to how much ??? I'm using a itaste vv 3 with a nautilus aspire mini. Love it!!!! Was smoking two packs a day at the end there so I'm most interested in 24 mg for now. A lot of liquids I want to try only go to 18 and at 18 seems like I'm gaping my head off to get satisfaction. So glad a stranger in the circle k by my house turned me on to juicing loving the flavors. Thanks for the reply and I'll keep y'all posted on my trials and tribulations.

Planning on the 100mg liter sale they're offering can screw up quite a few time at that price without much worry. Was planning on one stop shopping and picking up the pg/ vg there as well.?.. Mfs have god quality in that regard as well or would you recommend another source. And 6 smackers for 100 ml's is what I'm talking about. May I ask what you're mixing 100ml of ata time? Thanks for the help!!!

Might be too, if you improved your technique on how you inhale and absorb the ejuice, you might find that 18mg will work for you.

Common mistake many new vapers make, is to inhale and treat it like cig smoke... vapor doesnt work the same way.

Thanks Toast, very interesting article. I have been a fast lung hitter
. Makes sense and when I slow down I can tell the difference. Thanks I think this will save me some juice. Been burning through it pretty damn fast since I switched to the aspire mini.

As I said, MFS has a good reputation...
I've also gotten and been happy with nic from
Wizard Labs, Nude Nic, and RTS Vapes. A lot of people recommend Vapers Tek, but it's fairly pricey and I haven't tried it yet...

If you like any RY4's, or a "light tobacco" at all, I'd recommend trying some TFA (The Flavor Apprentice) "Double RY4" flavoring. It's available most places, and it's a really easy first mix that a lot of people like. I like it "strong" at about 15% flavoring...

My "all day vape" is a sweet, creamy RY4 kind of flavor based on that with some additions - a little Bavarian Cream, and some "Acetyl Pyrazine" for nuttiness. I've also mixed TFA RY4 Double with fruits (watermelon, strawberry & cream) for a fruity/tobacco mix.

That calculator EJuiceMeUp comes with a whole bunch of recipes built-in, plus lets you do a "Save As" to keep yours stored for future use...

KISS:
For a starter I'd say mix some PG only with 6mg nic, and DONE! Shake well.

adding vg will mean more shaking/mixing needed.
