Thank you Skex for putting things in perspective.

There are also those arguments where the final reality simply isn't known.
E-cigs are no better than smoking, This is simply still up for debate. We vapers can accurately claim that based on the studies to date that vaping does indeed seem to be better from a health perspective than smoking. However this is a new technology and the amount of research that's been done up to this point is very preliminary. and honestly neither were particularly independent. As one it of testing was done by the FDA in order to try and justify their ban and the other was funded and sponsored by a company that wants to sell ecigs.

Just wanted to point out that most testing in the US for FDA and EPA regulations are 'sponsored', if not performed, by the companies wanting to sell the product being tested. The costs of these tests would be prohibitive for anyone but the company developing the product in order to make a profit from it.
lol. mohawkx seems like a guy always on the defensive. I bet he punches old ladies just for looking at him wrong.
This part isnt entirely true.

While More testing certainly needs to be done, and long term effects need to be looked into.
A Whole lot more then just two studies have been done, more like 20 then add in the numerous studies on inhalation of PG and the Nicotine(only) studies and E-cigs have a pretty strong case here.
Whatever the long term effects of vaping may be, they can't be as bad as the ones from smoking.
I seriously have to wonder though, how harmful breathing in automobile exhaust is for us. Unless one lives in the middle of nowhere, it's impossible to get away from that.
This is probably true but we don't actually know this. It might turn out that we're all getting heavy metal poisoning and rather than die in 20 years from smoking related damage we'll all croak in 2 from that.
That said I look at like the choice between jumping from a cliff into a raging river vs standing your ground and getting shot in the face. There is a chance that you might survive the jump while your pretty sure the result of gun shot to the head is going to have terminal results.
Maybe that's a bit of an overstatement of what I really think the risks from vaping are but the point is that when facing the near certain detrimental affects of smoking compared to the potential unknown risks that may or may not exist with vaping. Well I see that as a no-brainer.
Apparently vaping induces about the same amount of carcinogens as eating a tomato!
probably in a non-organic tomato. Not that that stopped me from eating exactly that with my lunch today, but I'm aiming to be a little more careful with what goes into my lungs, especially since I didn't even come from smoking-- I feel obligated to do things as safely as possible so I don't bring bad light to e-cigs, lol.
