So basically as the title says..I'm a non-smoker. Not for lack of wanting, but more because of the health risks involved in analog smoking. Anyways, I've been looking a lot into this whole e-cig thing, and it's really got me interested. I guess my question is, is it a dumb idea to start vaping e-cigs recreationaly? I would be doing 0mg juice to avoid addiction and things of that nature. Any input would be appreciated.

Yes. Why would you do this to your lungs on purpose? It's safer than ciggs-but air is MUCH safer than vaping.

Generally, I'd avoid it if I wasn't already a smoker. This is a pretty certainly less harmful alternative to smoking, since we aren't getting the tar or generally nasty other chemicals in cigarettes, however inhaling nothing is better than vaping.
That's why vapers are pretty uniform in agreeing on no sales to minors -- we recognize that this is generally not a good thing to do, just a much safer thing than smoking.

Yes it’s stupid, put the juice down & back away from the PV.
99.9% of the people here are here because we are hooked on nicotine and the habit of using it. You telling yourself I will only use 0% nicotine is foolish you will develop the hand to mouth habit and it will grow into more
Need I say more?

If you've managed to avoid smoking, the best thing is to continue. If you find that you'll either smoke or vape, I'd vape.

I've got a buddy who smokes, though only a handful of times per year, handful of cigs each time. I happily gave him a disposable to use for those times, in a regular tobacco flavor. That one disposable will last him a year, for the few times when he "wants a smoke".

Well it's difficult to breathe air recreationally. I mean generally people start smoking analogs to fit in, or to be cool, or whatever the reason. It just makes sense that this work the same way, without all the health drawbacks.

Hmmmmmm

back when I was a teenager (long ago and far away), yes, this was true.......we started to be "cool". It gave us a life-long addiction to fight against. It is no longer "cool" to smoke-and frankly, the "kids" (anyone under 30) I work with don't think vaping is cool either.........as a matter of fact, mostly they think it's dorky, which is fine by me. I tell them come talk to me when they get the smokers cough.

Why on earth would you give yourself a habit that isn't even cool at the age that you start doing stupid stuff because it's cool? Because, frankly-an adult should have outgrown trying stuff because others are doing it along time ago.

That said-if you're over 18, need a new addiction that WILL damage your lungs, though not to the extent of smoking, and think you might enjoy it? Feel free. You're certainly not one of my children.......

Thanks for your input everyone.
Markfm, I appreciate something other than a flat out 'no'. I'm not considering doing it like...cartos a day or anything like that, but from time to time my friends all go out to like the hookah bar or whatever, and I don't smoke so it's always weird for me. But having an alternative for those rare occasions would be something I may want to invest in.

I totally agree, not for you. Be cool some other way.

It seems like a lot of you are totally misunderstanding me, and maybe it's because I wasn't clear in the first post, but I thought it was clarified in the later ones. I don't intend to make this a habit, and I'm not looking to start to look cool to others. The 'cool' statement was merely one way of justifying it, not saying it was my personal reason for starting. If I decide to start vaping, it would be in situations that peers or others are smoking, and only to give me a healthier alternative, and if nothing else, make it much easier to say no when offered to join them. I plan to buy a starter kit and only a starter kit. The cartridges should be much more than enough to last me as long and as infrequently as I plan to use this device. I appreciate everyone's input tremendously, but just figured I'd clear it all up for anyone who misunderstood.
