Holy Smokes!!! Come on guys!!! Leave this poor guy alone! He came here for friends and FRIENDLY advice!!! I applaud you that have given him caring, considerate advice. The rest of you that are chastising him should go do some soul searching to figure out why you find it necessary to pick on someone that came to you with sincere questions and was kind enough to share a bit of himself with you. Do you bully everyone that you meet?

not taking any sides here...but I started smoking when I was 13...peer pressure and yeah, it was cool...(not)...but it seems to be the op's reasons are the same reason most of us started smoking to begin with...only vaping...if I could have vaped instead of smoking...maybe my health wouldn't be so bad today...:) ..

How can you possibly blow smoke rings and inhale into your lungs? I've been trying it and there is no way.

You can only blow smoke rings by inhaling and holding it in your mouth then pushing it out, there is no way to make the rings after you inhale it into your lungs.

Yes, you can blow smoke rings after inhaling smoke into your lungs. I've done it all my smoking life (and my vaping life). You do it when exhaling the smoke (or vapor) after you've inhaled it.

I think the analogy of walking into a AA meeting and asking for advise on how to act drunk without drinking is spot on.

If you asked a social drinker for advice on how carry a cup of OJ at a party and call it a screwdriver (to avoid peer pressure to really drink) they would help you.

But, so many people on this forum have lost so much to smoking and are still fighting an uphill battle, I'm not surprized at many peoples responses. Not starting in the first place is clearly the best course of action (hindsight being 20/20 and all).

That said, if OP made his adult decision to pick up an e-pipe and would have gotten a regular pipe if e-pipe weren't an option, then maybe he can save himself some of the pain.

I also must disagree with the idea that habitual addictions are as dangerous as drug addictions. They might have just as drastic consequences for some people, but nearly everyone who is addicted to smoking has a massive battle in front of them to quit... People forget that nic one of the most addictive substances known to man, right up there with "hard" drugs.

Theres no way to know, but I pretty certain that I would have quit smoking 5+ years ago if there was no nic content in cigs.

Nicely stated.

I think at this juncture, all the advice that could be given to me has either been said or links provided, so while I won't close this thread down because it seems some folks are having useful discussions here, I'm not going to reply much anymore unless it's something really important. To you guys who think I'm an anti-smoking troll who is here as a secret government agent to prove that vapers are trying to lure in kids and non-smokers, have fun with your paranoia and don't let your tin hat get in the way of reading the forum. To the kind people, once again, thank you, and to the sarcastic people who think I'm a dumbass, birds of a feather, as they say. I'm just going to lurk quietly and if I see something where I can offer a useful opinion, I may post. If I don't post a lot, be glad I'm not trying to spam the forums to get up my post count. Back in MY day, we had something called "netiquette" which said if you don't have anything useful to add, don't post!

Some people have hit this nail correctly on its head. If I'm going to smoke something, wouldn't you rather I smoke PVs, especially if I try to use my own mixtures that are nic free, than to say to hell with you all and pick up an actual pipe? Gah. I'm walking away from this topic before it gets worse. PM me if you would like to have any further discussions from me. Oh, and I challenge those people who think I'm a government troll to please report me to the moderators of this forum as a danger to you all. I'd pay good money to see how they respond to you. Thanks again to the kind responses and take care, everyone. PM me if you'd like.

Ditto on that. I can't understand why people are giving this guy such a hard time. Unless I missed something, this is an adult who has every right to vape/smoke/drink/etc. I can understand if someone comes here thinking it's 100% safe and you want to enlighten them to the facts, so that they can make an educated decision, but that should really be the extent of it. If you don't want to encourage them by giving them advice then don't.

I agree, did people telling you not to do it stop you from smoking cigs when you first had one? I didn't think so. I'd much rather see someone taking up vaping than use tobacco, he's an adult and capable of deciding what to do with his own body so don't be like the government deciding what people can and can't do if they're not harming others in doing so.

+1 for me.Give the guy a break. If he was saying he wanted to ride a motorcycle(more dangerous and also very addictive), would there be 9 pages of nay sayers saying "don't do it" in a motorcycle forum? He doesn't even want nicotine, otherwise I would have suggested 0nicAsuming he is an adult(I believe you are from your demeener), that is his choice, and he has already made it. Jeesh. :(

FWIW, you will only smell the familiar smell if you exhale through the nose. The smell of vapor is very weak at best. The only vapor that has a strong smell that I have is Dijarum Black e-juice(I think it's dekang).

Oh and by the way, welcome to ECF. Don't be a stranger. Hopefully the good people here at ECF will lighten up a bit.
