Hello everyone. Newbie here and super excited to find something I can take up other smoking cigs. I have a couple questions so if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. I've been looking around the forum the past couple days and feel a bit overwhelmed. lol. I've been a smoker for almost 10 years and have found nothing out there to help me quit. This seems like its right up my alley. Ok so I've been researching ecigs and just dont want to fall into tha newbie trap of a bad company. The 2 pkits I've been eyeing are the V2 traveler kit and getting a bottle of the eliquid. I liked this kit beacause of the travel charging case and the ecig u can plug into the usb.. The other kit I've taken interest in is the Aqua Vapor RN4081 mega deal kit. I like this one cause its like double of everything along with the travel cases n liquid. I do want something that is like smoking a cig. good vapor is a big deal for me.Now mind you I know nothing about whats good n whats bad so here I am. any help or advice for me before I buy. I want to be pushed in the right direction before I buy something thats not goung to work. Thanks again.:p. Oh I apologize ahead of time if I posted in the wrong place.

Hi. RN4081 is a super-mini. The batteries will not last long before they need charging.
V2s are minis with 808 threading. I haven't used them. Take a look at Smokeless Image - they are 808 batteries. I'd recommend two 78mms. Plus they have a big battery if you want to upgrade.
A lot of people also like Egos - they are a medium size, known as a fatt batt.
Finally - you might want to take a look at this: Best E-Cigarette for a New User

This is the right place. Think about a kit from SI if you are considering kits that look and feel like a cig. You can get a starter kit with a PCC [travel charging case] and the juices are good. You get a USB plug with the Pro starter kit, as well.

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Starter Kits

Bottles of juice are a good price. There is a labor day weekend sale coming up

COUPON CODE: LABRDY12
Please Note: 22% OFF everything that we have in stock is valid from Friday, August 31st until end of day September 3rd @ 11:59 PM EST!

Ha! Ha! Simul -post, Kiwivap:)

As someone who has tried the V2 Traveller kit...as well as Smokeless Image Volt, I'd suggest that you'll get more "bang for your buck" and satisfaction from Smokeless Image. Here is a kit with just about everything you need to start...and at a more reasonalbe price. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Premium Starter Kit - Starter Kits Also the equipment itself is as well made, if not more so than the V2 and the customer service and shipping cannot be beat. Their prices, site wide, are very good with high quality products and a wide variety to accommodate your evolving needs and tastes (it'll happen, trust me). They also have a vibrant and helpful forum here at ECF where you can talk to other Volt users. Just my opinion, but it's based on personal experience. If you'd like more info or to talk more about the pros and cons, please feel free to PM me here at ECF.

There is no need to go to a bigger battery if you aren't ready right now. And Smokeless Image also carries the bigger (higher mAh longer lasting charge) batteries should you choose that path. That way you have a variety of options in one place to become familiar with the whole e-cig process. For what it's worth, while the 510 systems are more plentiful in PVs....the KR808 batteries are far superior for holding a charge longer, and overall quality.

ok so you suggest somethingbigger than the clone like cigs. I don't mind using something all bigger if I'm gonna get my moneys worth. So what are the best starter kits for the bigger ones? Like the ego or the kr808?

kr808 is a type of thread, not a size. Did you look at the best ecig for new user?

I've no experience with either, so I'm sure someone who has used them will chime in on both.

That said, I'll do some general stuff: I've read good things here on the V2, and haven't seen anything on the Aquavapor.

A quick lookup shows me that the V2 should accept any 808 accessories, the AquaVapor is a 4081. IMHO this is probably the most important thing you want to look for in a kit. Threading should be standard, either 808 or 510 have the most options, 510 having more. You can buy adapters for the 4081 or 808 so it's not a major issue here, though having it default is nice. Once you have batteries/charger you can choose your own parts. There's a lot (obviously) and some are higher quality than others.

With standard threading you won't be "locked" into a particular vendors product. Yea, some have their own threading types, male/female mismatches, it's a bit low but I understand why it's good for business. You probably will want to avoid these completely (not on your list but just saying).

The PCC (Personal Charge Case) on cigalikes is also extremely important. The battery life on smaller units is generally lacking, being able to charge without needing a socket/USB is essential. You never want to be waiting on a charge when you are having a craving.

Getting your own juice and refilling is probably the best way to go for a noob. You COULD get prefilled cartos but the prices are usually too high. Filling can be a bit of a pain but within a week you won't even be thinking about it.

I don't know bout the double kit, but sometimes more isn't better. Is it so cheap because quality control is lacking, parts used are inferior, etc etc etc. Get on youtube and start watching reviews. Text reviews are okay but they don't SHOW you the vape and sometimes they find tips and tricks that are easier to just see.

Congrats on wanting to make the switch, just remember that not every kit is a perfect fit for your needs. The first little bit can be somewhat pricey as you find what works.

Welcome to ECF, pull up a rock, enjoy your stay. Any other questions you have don't hesitate to ask, there's a LOT of people ehre with lots of experience who are more than happy to help.

Threading: The space/angle between individual "threads" (the screw bit) and angle of the actual threads. on the parts/battery. They are not all compatible.

This is why you want to go with the more standard ones.

Personally I prefer 510's, but just about all my parts are 510 and I don't want to go replacing them all. You can always get adapters, they're at most online vendors and connect between most threading.

If form factor (Cigarette Style) is a big issue, I also suggest Smokeless Image (Volt). However if you want something that is satisfying, cost efficient, and will last you a while (Really no need of changing anytime soon), I would recommend an Ego C Twist. When I started, a fixed voltage was enough to satisfy (I started with Blu, Kgo, and regular Ego) - None satisfied me after a few weeks of use), but within weeks I was looking into others with variable voltage. The Ego C Twist allows one to increase voltage as necessary (A dial is at the bottom to decrease or increase to your taste), and you shouldn't have to switch to something else anytime soon. The cost of two battery's (Under $25 a piece for either the small {650mah} or large {1000 mah}/ Available at several vendors) and a Charger (Usually less than $15). I believe Kgo has a new variable voltage model, but I haven't heard anyone review them as of yet (Good or Bad). I know there are tons of reviews on Youtube for the Twist, and almost all are favorable. The links below are to a few of the reviews:

The EGO C TWIST - YouTube

Don't worry we were all that way at first .These forums are lifesavers.I'd have to say after all the money I spent trying to figure out ecigs and what I like is worth it but can be avoided. There are a lot more options out there now then when I started been analog free now for close to a year and ecig are to thank.Tell me have you tried anything yet?like a cheap disposable or maybe a friends device?

Yes, I'm aware of the larger battery style that Smokeless Image has. However, they are fixed voltage.

Yes. 3.7v. I have found some of the older members here didn't know they introduced fatt batts, CE3s etc so just mentioned it. Fixed voltage is fine with me, but some prefer variable.

I think Smokeless Image is a wonderful product. I guess I was coming in at an angle from having something that would satisfy light to stronger satiety. If they would had the Twist when I first started, I would have saved myself a lot of money. It wasn't until I bought a Provari Mini until I found what I was looking for (However, they didn't have an Ego C Twist out then). Though I love the others, I think it's cool to have a options. I use the Twist when, I'm out and about, and I think they are cool because they are small, light, inexpensive, and pretty much let you have light to heavy hits. The 650mah version is not that long, and last a good while. I also have the 1000 mah, but it is pretty long (However the battery last me almost all day). Now I remember how confusing it was at first. Lots of products, information, and opinion.
