The ego has come along way you can't go wrong with it as a starter. The key is battery life.A kit should come with 2 battery's if you like the USB hookup you could also get one as a pass through which just means you are using whatever you plug USB in as battery .Look around my freedom smokes, smoktek, mad apes are all great vendors and pink spot has some great juices.go and I hope this helps.

Probably better with a fatt batt. But... A couple of minis can be handy for some places too. Mine are good for certain places I go during the day where I want to be very discreet. I was a heavy smoker too.
The Volt X2 is 808 and Ego threaded - so can use Ego stuff with it as well as Smokeless Image or other 808 stuff.

You eventually will get a 18650 device which is battery size and prob a variable voltage mod so just save all the $ experimenting and get a provari, some boge cartos a bottle of liquid from pink spot and you won't be disappointed

It would probably be a good idea to make sure one likes vaping well enough to continue doing it before one runs out and spends a whole paycheck on equipment.

You'll want some liquid, any brand "will do" though there's recommended ones (I'll leave the recommendations to my southern neighbours, I use cad vendors). Get some sampler packs, and some of the more "out there" flavours. Fruits and beverage, not just tobacco. You may be surprised what you like.

It may be wise to get a spare pack of cartos or two, they're pretty cheap and having backups is essential. You'll probably go through them a bit faster when first starting out also.

I started with the Volt and don't regret it a bit. They have decent juices, the batteries lasted a few hours each, so I was never without a full one and they were priced right. I'm about three months in and now I use an eGo Twist and Vivi Nova (and at home I use a bridgeless atty to drip) and I have no intentions of upgrading any time soon.

OK so getting the pro starter kit from volt along with the volt x2 battery I should be good to go? :/

That is basically what I did. You can get the pre-filled carto samplers which come in 18mg. I ended up needing some 24mg to overcome some of my ciggie urges but.... it's too much for me to vape all day so I now have 18mg and some 12 mg. Anyway, to get you started 18mg is good.

I tried the three different samplers from SI and I found out that I like all the tobacco flavors but I love Ry4 tobacco flavor. I didn't like grape but I do like the cherry but I liked the watermelon enough to buy the big bottle in 12mg. I think that will make a great vape while on vacation and chain vaping in the truck.

The mints, I liked Ice Burst enough to buy a large bottle of that as well for refills but the others were okay. My point is that buying samplers is a great way to go and then you can easily refill or get a pack of CE3 thingeys that are like cartridges but you fill them yourself. They are the same size as the 78mm [if you buy the Volt go with the 78mm battery for an extra dollar]. So you have easy to use options. The clearos, cartos and CE3's will work on all your battery sizes. My other suggestion is that you have a choice on the PCC [portable chargin case] The mega case is considered a good option but they are both good PCC's. They are the same cost with your pro starter kit.

You are welcome to stop by the SI forum. There are videos available:

Yes, you can use any brand of e-juice. You will want to use blank cartridges, clearos or CEs's for that. It wan't as confusing as it sounds once I got my Pro starter kit and used it for a week I decided what to buy next.

So based on this, I would advise this poster to just get the eGo Twist and save the money on the volt. The eGo Twist and the Vivi Nova are great starters. They are 510 threaded, not proprietary, so anything the op buys will be transferable to the 510 stuff, which is the most popular.

P.S. I started with a cig-a-like Blu kit and wasted my money. Then the Joye 510, then the eGo Twists, then the ProVari. I don't use the Blu or the Joye 510 (about $200 bucks wasted there), but I DO still use my Twist when not using the ProVari. And I am a newbie also, all that was bought within my first month.

I started with the v2 quite awhile back. It is 3.7 volts and works quite well for awhile I am sure the volt is similar. The problems I had were battery life-consistency of juices and shipping. At one time I was rotating through 4 of those little batteries a day and that gets old fast. For someone who smokes more than a pack and a half or so a day it is better to go with something along the ego/kgo lines and the twist is excellent. A lot of people find they love the little light on the end of it but I don't want anything that looks like a cig. I used the cartos they sell and refilled my own the savings are much greater that way but have since gone the tank route. All are good starter kits but I like the flexibility of the 510 threading as I like to order from many suppliers and 808 are harder to find. Just my opinion.
