I read on several places that these BVC coils should not be primed (putting few drops of juice down the center and on the wick holes), just let it sit for a few minutes, is this correct ?

I had some flooding under the coil, gurgling and tiny bit of leaking through the airflow holes only on my 0.7ohm coil, which I primed this way ^^
While using the 1.8 coil with NotSoMini method I had no problems.
Maybe this 0.7 was a dud coil with a bad o-ring

Happy to read that my priming or should I say no priming method worked for you. I do use the 0.7 ohm coils as well and I do not prime these. If you primed the 0.7 ohm coil, this could be the cause of the leaking and gurgling you experienced.

I just ordered a N2 whith the 1.8 bvc coils from Fasttech, I hope I´ve made a good choice..

I have four N2s — one in each color and really like them. For drop in coils nothing beats the Nautilus Mini coils for me. If you have issues with gurgling and leaking, you may want to try my no prime way. Works perfectly everytime for me.

@FichoZG — If you still have the 0.7 ohm coil and want to try to save it, try turning it upside down and blow hard multiple times to drain as much of the ejuice out. Be sure you have a paper towel or something to catch any ejuice that may come out at the top. No guarantees that this will work but might be worth a try. I realize you know to close the air flow holes when adding ejuice to the tank so that it does not leak through the holes.

i've had my N2 for about a week now and have had the flooding with liquid coming out of the air holes, and gurgling too. then i watched this video review and the host covers that problem at about 13:10 into the video. so far i haven't had any flooding since i've started using the trick he recommends.

Thanks for the tip, I went the longer way though, disassembled everything to clean out the floodage at the bottom where the airflow is, blowed into the coil a couple of times and pat the coil with a paper towel, then installed everything using the Vic method (though the outer glass gets wet a bit this way for me). I think I flooded it cause I primed it too much at the wicking holes. The o-ring on the coil was not damaged as I assumed earlier.

How much do you tighten the coil into the base, is it bad if I overtighten it ?

I started doing the turning it upside down fill method when I first got it but, I kinda stopped doing that.. Just make sure you leave some room at the top when filling, close the air flow then screw the top back on normally. You don't even need to crank down on the top cap all the way to make it "super tight". I could still tighten it like a 1/4 turn more but, I like the top cap to line up correctly ( for the looks on the mod) and never had a problem with leaking. I then take the drip tip off then give it a few quick snaps of the wrist (over the sink) that gets rid of any extra juice in the coil. Start vaping and 2-3 puffs later, the coil is vaping perfectly.

I do tighten the coil down however I have female fingers so probably not quite as tight as a man would do but still pretty tight.

When I originally used the N2 and was priming the coil, my outer glass got wet as well. For myself I am sticking with my no prime way as it works for me.

Like @Cosmic_Glaze I do like to line up the tank with my mod. It took a few trial and error for me to know how much to tighten the cap. Once I did not tighten it enough and the juice leaked where the cap joins the bottom. Once I over tightened and using a rubber jar opener I could not get it loose — weak fingers. I ended up taking it to my B&M to have them remove the cap for me.

As someone else who posted in this thread, I'm getting quite poor results with the nautilus mini tank using the genuine aspire replacement coils, often two days for a coil. My ejuice is split between 70 percent VG, and the others are 33 VG. It is quite annoying buying new coils every week or two. Can someone tell me if this new tank, i will get better results? My Mod is eleaf Istick 40W Tc.

Also, it seems my usb cord is malfunctioning, where can I find a replacement. It looks like my cell phone usb would fit, could I use that? I don't want the battery to explode, so I haven't tried yet. Thanks guys.

Any recommendations very welcome. Please tell me the longest lasting coils and atomizer you guys know of, if not the nautilus.

The problem may be your juice. It might have to much sweetener in it. My ADV juice is very clean and the coils last a very long time. But if I put a juice that is very sweet, it just kills the coils.... I reserve "cleaner" juices in my Nautilus 2 and if a juice is known to kill coils I use it in my RTAS. (Cotton is cheap and I just rewick and burn off the coils). IMO supper sweet juices do not discriminate and will destroy all coils. An RTA can still get gunned up it just cost a few pennies to replace your wick.

Awesomes, looks like something I should look into :)

1. What is RTAS?
2. What is RTA?

Would either work for naituls mini or this new nautilus 2 tank? Where can i grab them?

Are these the only coils I can use for the nautilus mini?

Rta = Rebuildable Tank Atomizer.... it's a style of tank which you build and wick your own coils. It does not take pre-built coils that you buy. (You tube it.) Tons of info on there about all vaping if you want to learn... that's how I learned to build.

And no the Nautilus line of tanks take only Pre-built coils.
If you don't want to build your own try juices with less sweetener. One coil can last up to 2 weeks (or more depends how much you vape really) in the Nautilus. I usually just switch it out once a week though..keep it fresh. I don't want to be out and about and have the coils die because I was trying to get the most out of it..... but that's just me...
I use the Nautilus 1.8 kanthal coil works great.

It's hard to pinpoint what the cause is, but it may well be the juices. At the moment I have nine different ones and I alternate everytime. They are all fruit type flavors. I don't know if they are more particularily sweet than others. Would a non sweet flavor be one of the many tobacco or menthol flavors? If that's the case, i will have to live with the coil problem, lol.

Interestingly, the coils that came with the mini lasted 2 weeks each! With a high VG and sweet flavor. The replacement coils, none lasted more than a week, often two days each, out of about 20 so far.

Is there a place I can find all the possible coils I can try out for the nautilus mini of this new model. I see no point in trying the apire bvc's again since they all run out within days..

Is the new model you are referring to, is that the Nautilus 2? Cause it takes all the same coils as the N mini.
As far as the juice it's not necessarily the flavor it's the amour of sugar / sweetener the juice company uses.
What coils are you using and what watts are you using?
Where did you get the coils and did you check if they were authentic?

My review from a long time MTL Nautilus and Kabuki P3 user:

After my P3 broke and could no longer use the P3 kabuki I saw the N2 and had the hope of it being close in flavour department than the N1.

I have been using the N2 for a month, 1.6 coils, power from 10-13W, 70/30 PG/VG eliquid.

I hoped to get a flavour close to the kabuki, but no dice. Coil lasts about 2 weeks just as the N1.

This recipe, when vaped through the Kabuki, has what I would call a chameleon flavour: on inhale you feel the freshness of the mentol, along with mint, cola and lime with sour feeling "wrapping"; on exhale the strawberry flavour / smell kicks in, with some aniseed hints on the aftertaste. This is a very popular recipe among Spain's DIY vapers (1714 Evolved).

I would say Flavour is on par with a regular Nautilus, but IMHO has several cons vs N1:

1.- Worse, cumbersome refill vs N1.

Yes, N1 needs to be dissasembled too, but once you dissasemble the atomizer, then the base, it can be put upside-down (w/o the mouth tip) over a table, refill, screw back the base and be done.

On N2, after the atomizer is removed from the mod, the steel bell is a royal PITA to unscrew; after unscrewing it you need to either screw back the base to the mod, or use some sort of holder, as it won't be stable on a table for refill.

The fact of it having just 2ml makes this operation much more frequent and much more annoying, in fact I went back to N1.

Haven't even tried the 0.7 coil due to this... for me on a 2ml tank which is a PITA to refill, this is simply a no-no, would use a dripper instead.

2.- Airflow

Much more practical, and better "feeling" on the N1.

3.- 510 Leaking

It leaks on the 510 connector straight out from the box if you completely finish the eliquid, as the negative pressure is gone; N1 does the same but only with really old bases.

-----------------------------

Tjgoa: You can use any USB micro-B cable, your phone cable is fine, your mod has internal regulation circuitry, and all USB ports provide 5V no matter the cable used.

Nautilus BVC coils durability depends mainly on two factors: juice (as has been said sweteeners and some aditives will shorten its life) and power used, using the boost feature on your mod (if it has it) helps keeping the flavour and lengthening coil life.

I usually set it at 11W boost for 0.3s / 9.6W on new 1.6 coils, and as the coil wears out, rise those values to help keeping vapour production and taste, coils lasting between 2 and 3 weeks.

I had some flooding under the coil, gurgling and tiny bit of leaking through the airflow holes only on my 0.7ohm coil, which I primed this way ^^

I prime and have always primed Nautilus coils with no leaks or gurgling. Close the AFC ring before tightening the cap will help to build negative pressure inside the tank: no leaks.

I'm a MTL vaper who started off with the N1 on a plain ole iStick and loved it. I bought the N2 about two months ago to give it a shot, and loved it even more. I've pretty much replaced all of my N1s with the new ones now. I don't have leaking problems, I don't prime my coils, I just clean up a bit when my tank is empty, refill, and screw the top back on. No problems for me.
