Wow... Figures, I just ordered, received and wired up one dna 30 last week into an Arlo. Thankful that I ordered enough parts to make 2 Arlos. I will be on the prowl Tuesday for the dna 40. Still like all my Mechs (tubes and boxes) but to be honest they have been sitting for weeks since I made 2 OKR T10s. If this works as stated in the PB interview and others here have said the T10s may be the next to be sitting around the shop.

I know you are more of a Higher Watt Vaper. But did you get a Chance to Evaluate it much a Lower Voltage/Wattage/Temp?
In non-temp mode I plugged in some tanks with various ohm ratings from 1.6 to 3 ohm.....wanted to see how the buck tech fared...... as an example:

Aspire mini BVC @ 1.8 ohm..... started at 1 watt setting and fired just fine @ 1.?? volts (don't remember actual reading) but no vapor....adjusted up to 3 watts and started getting vapor (voltage adjusted accordingly)..... ran it up in increments to where I normally vape and all is well.....ohm reading of device agreed with ohm checker and voltage/wattage/ohm's agreed with ohm's law.....

Very Cool. That was kinda what I am Looking for.

Because what Appeals to me about a Chip-Set like this is not so much that I can Vape at 40W. But that it has the Ability to go Below 7W.

I like using Cearos when I'm Out-n-About. And the Clearos/e-Liquids I use tend to Max Out at around 7W. So Many of the VW Devices out there have No Room to Dial Down.

A Device that could Output 1~9v/1~40W would cover the Entire Range I would want to vape. Low Watts for Clearos when on the Road. Mid/Higher Watts when I am at home.

And if the Temp Control works, or be Made to Work, that would be Icing on the Cake.

might be hard to get to a 2 ohm coil with the ni200 in temp mode.... sure you could but its going to take a lot of wraps to do so if im understanding this wires low resistance aspect

I wonder if there is a Reliable Conversion Factor of Volts - Ohms / Temperature from ni200 to say NiChrome 60 or Kanthal A1?

And BTW. What was the Reasoning behind the choice of ni200? To move away from Coil Wires that Contain Chromium?

Nickel wire's resistance changes predictably, and fairly drastically, when it's heated. The change in resistance is what the board uses to predict the temperature of the wire in your build.

So does NiChrome 60 or Kanthal A1 not change Predictably?

Because I'm pretty sure it Does. But the Average person might not like the Math Involved to determine it.

Just using this as an example...Higher ohm builds was my point---all Guuuuud....More coil surface area better flavor and vapor...

Have not pulled the trigger yet but getting very very itchy to do so...meh...

And how do you max out the 40 watts of power???---not that you have to.

Yeah...Some big Release by Evolv... Been watching for 13+ hours and NOTHING! FLOP... What a waste of time. Nothng like being thoughtful enough to give some kinda estimate if you're going to hit it or miss.

Just a heads up, someone should have mentioned it before to save ya the headache.

If the DNA40 release is anything like the DNA30 was, it will be a LONG time before the chips are available directly from Evolv (it took until very recently for the DNA30s to be up 'in stock' on their site).

All the initial production seems to go to mod makers and vendors, so you'll likely have a better chance of tracking one down via that route.

For example, looks like Hyperion Vape is showing them in stock, or at least you can add them to your cart. They always seemed to have a decent supply of 30's when they were harder to find so they must have a decent relationship with Evolv.

That is not what was said on the PBusardo interview... ON their site on the 14th. On Twitter they said single units for sale on thier site ON the 14th.

Hmm must've missed that part of the interview(it is crazy long afterall...lol). I'm not seeing the tweet on Evolvs official twitter though, you have a link?

Very surprised they made that statement/commitment after how long it took them to start taking individual orders on 30s.

If i was you, i'd be annoyed too.

Just want to thank you for the heads up on Hyperion Vape... I did as suggested. Saved a lot of frustration.

Glad to hear it, and the price would've been the same from Evolv anyway.

FWIW and to give ya an idea on demand for the chips, the ECF coop order for 140 chips has an estimate 3-4 WEEK lead time.

Best of luck!

Vapor Flask DNA40 mods went up this evening on VapeRev. Apparently, the stock sold within minutes.

Had it in my hands today and i have to say that thing rocks
I would love to get my hands on that chip only for my new wood box

Looks like the chips are still in stock at vape dojo, doubt I'd get away with posting a link but they are there! Use their little search box on the left hand side of the page.
