It's at least two cells. I suppose it could be three (which would make the most sense based on the no-load voltage), but I didn't want to peel the cells apart to be sure. They were taped together in a neat bundle, and as tightly as everything fit together, I wasn't sure I could put it back together well enough to get everything back into the case.

I dont own my own Provari, but my husband has one. I find all the diagnostic tools very helpful! Im always checking my batteries and atties on his unit. saves me time and trouble when having vaping issues, lets me know if my batteries are charges enough, and the ohms of my atties. and they seem pretty durable considering the digital tech. Ive seen him drop it multiple times onto a hardwood floor, and depstite a small crack in the plastic display screen, it still works great. For myself, personally, I prefer my silver bullet (and my newly acquired reo mini) especially now that i can diagnose problems by putting my parts on the provari and testing them. He loves his provari, he's a techy kinda guy so its perfect for him. and all that button pushing? not a problem, only 5 quick pushes to get to the menu, and then just a couple to find the one you need.

I must have gotten a special edition ProVari. . .mine only takes 8 button presses to turn it on or off. Don't know why others are quoting more presses than it actually takes. I've had my Pro for more than six months. I remember the day it arrived. And my thinking. . .God, this things a club. It is a handfull for sure. But, in no time at all the button pressing and my adjustment to it's size, all became second nature to me. I'm certain I could quit smoking, then quit vaping, with either unit. JMHO

Cheers,
