I was trying to figure out why the draws on the Darwin seemed a little more satisfying than the ProVari using same settings/juice/atty. Nuck helped me pin down the difference.... Airflow! The Darwin has a tighter draw providing fuller vapor while the ProVari adds a little more air making the hits less full.

For the last 3 days I have switched back to the Darwin. Mainly for 2 reasons. First, batteries. It's very nice not having to carry an extra battery around in my pocket. I know that I can vape the Darwin all day and have plenty of battery life at the end of the day.

Second. Airflow!. There really is a noticable difference in how the Darwin Vapes. The Provari is much more of an airy draw than the Darwin. I have used 510's, 901's and 306's. I don't much care for 801's. I am enjoying the less airy draw from the Darwin much more than the airy draw from the Provari.

If the Darwin just looked and little different ::oops: and had a drip cup, it would be perfect for me. I am getting better at not getting juice on the Darwin though. I just drip a little less, but have to drip more often.

Does anyone have any idea's on how to get a less "airy" draw on the Provari?

I just got my darwin... when I drip I found that a 510-ego adapter is a beautiful thing. Screw in your 510 atty, then screw on your EGO cone. Viola. "Catch cup" via cone. Problem solved for overdripping. Just keep the atty pointing up when pocketing so any juice caught in the cone doesn't spill and fill your pants pocket.

The lack of a drip cup is kind of a pain on the darwin. I too am an overzealous dripper. There are a few remedies for that though and the one I prefer is the drip shield from empire coupled with the 510/901-901/510 adapters. It works flawlessly and looks great too. The one big hitch on the darwin for me is the connector, not so much the threads but the way it swings open. It feels sorta... cheap. It doesn't pivot like you would imagine it's supposed too. It has quite a bit of play and tends to flap around a bit. If it was not for that, the darwin would be shear perfection. I absoluetly love mine and will never go without one again.

I decided to go with the Chrome ProVari. I have seen most people have had to have their Darwins replaced at one point in time and a few people are on their 4th one which kind of told me it wasn't built all that great. Overall i think i will be happy with the ProVari (as most people are) and i will possibly try the Darwin once i hit the lotto and i can buy every PV i want lmao.

i had to send my darwin in with a replacement and they added a short extentin that you wil thread the atties to instead of directly into that brass nob, ive had a goose neck extention which i feel completes the darwin (juice wont be able to slide all the way down it) i have no problem wiping it off a few times a day its always good to have a napkin handy when your vaping!

yes darwin is a great primary device, great hit ive never used a provari and im not really interested in hitting buttons multiple times for different functions either
my combination is a darwin, with gooseneck w/ 306 atties and cannon drip tip from cherryvapes
i found 306s last very long and deliver a lungfull effortlessly
