Out of sheer curiosity would anyone know offhand the approximate length of wire that can be reasonably used in one of these.

I did some calculations based on rweschler's ohm rating and it seems like he's using approximately 1.25 inches of 30 gauge for a 3 coil wrap. Anyone have any idea what the maximum length of wire that could be used would be, in say a 5 coil wrap(if that's possible). Perhaps 1.75 inches?. Trying to stock the right AWG of Kanthal in order to meet my desired ohm rating.

I know with variable voltage I can simply adjust the voltage but I find that with approximately 7 watts pumped through a 2.2ohm(3.9 volts) coil as opposed to the same 7 watts pumped through a 3.2ohm(4.8 volts) coil my batteries just get murdered on the 2ohm. Lose about half my vape time. It seems odd to me because technically the draw on the battery is not that much greater.

Edit: I've tested my battery life on matching Penelope's with 2ohm and 3ohm coils and with the same watts, different voltages....my battery life just gets killed on the 2ohm coils.

Edit 2: Amp/Watt mixup. Bleah.

I do 5-6 & 6-7 wraps on mine, more coil area covered and it works great, and use a Dual wick, making the regular fat wick then putting one thinner one inside of the fatter one.

I'm gonna have to try the dual wick. If you don't mind me asking...what are the mesh dimensions?

Just put two DID kits with two Kir Francis clear tanks up on the classys. The DID is a wonderful piece of kit but for the life of me can't get the hang of it so must pass this, don't want these to collect dust on my shelf :)

Shack if its not sold yet, send it to me and I will set it up for you and send it back

I'm going to go into much further detail in the full video, but this should give everyone some idea of how mine is performing.

Looks good, and you get my nomination for the DR of Genesis Atty's. Ive seen a lot of your clips with different things and im always jealous. Think I may have to put the precise on my list.

I'm sorry the airflow discussion dropped off... Did you guys move it somewhere else? That is the most important topic when it comes to genny atties, and to atties in general. The reason is the way our vapor comes to be - vaporized PG / VG needs to be in contact with moist air to "attract" water and form the rather tiny droplets that we see as vapor. In this process it expands it volume, but I'm not sure we know by how much or how fast.

This is the Holy Grail of vaping - understanding the interaction between PG/VG vapor and ambient moisture and the fluid dynamics inside the chamber. I know Zen~, for instance, watched that vapor through a transparent top cap in order to come up with his design. But I guess the way is to model the thing in some expert software, eliminating guesswork. That said, intuitively the larger the chamber, the better the vaporization, and the more airflow, again, the better. Regardless of the size, with appropriate "control surfaces", you can obtain whatever airflow pattern you want... But intuition sometimes fails miserably - so I guess we don't know...

Seriously, is there a thread on this topic?

Yes, good stuff. The conversation should not be dropped, as it is truly the holy grail
