The Mini DID fits damn near perfect on the slant top P+16340! My only issue with the setup it is that even the AW IMR 16340s can't supply nearly enough current to the coil as I'd like them to :(

I was wondering if the 16340 bat would be good enough to power the DID effectively. Looks really nice though. I noticed the AW protected bats have a higher mah rating than the IMR's, would those bats be better?

A higher mAh rating typically results in the battery being able to produce less output current, so AW IMRs will more effectively power your coils and hold their voltage under load better than the black AWs.

Good to know. ST has the 16350 flat top under the scratch and dent for $90 and trying to figure out if I it would work for my needs.

Thanks for your input.

The mini DID won't sit flush on the flat top, so if you're looking for a small mech mod to run the Mini DID on, I'd suggest going with the slant top P+18350 or the Sturm Mod. Or just wait it out for Jim's 14500/14650 mod, which is going to come with a brand new 16mm DID (for reference, the standard/short DID are 20mm OD and the mini is 14mm OD)! The new DID and mod are going to be live on Jim's site within the next couple of days!
Also, I spoke with Jim earlier today and was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the new switch he designed for POLDIAC (his new 18650/18500 DID hybrid), and it looks positively EPIC!!!! I wish I could say more or a share a picture with everyone, but this thing is a piece of mechanical and functional genius!

Yep the Mini DID Looks Great on my Sturm Mod and the AW 14500 600mAh Batteries keep up with my 1.0 to 1.3 ohm coils very very well and the definitely push enough power to em. The don't last overly long, maybe 2 to three hours of heavy chainvaping but about 4 to 6 hours of lighter vaping.

Not Nearly as great a Picture as Ricks but definitely shows how good it looks :D

ETA I carry around 3 extra 14500's in a double A Battery Carrier in a pocket and they are very small so very convenient indeed :D

Can't wait to see the POLDIAC. I'm thinking the P+ 16340 flat top is not want I'm looking for. It's the first time I've seen anything in the ST scratch and dent section and thought it was a good price and I'm trying to watch the pocket book. I like the idea of a small/slender device but I think I have to put that want on the back burner until more powerful small batteries get developed.

Looks good man! I'm jealous that you've got the v2! Having to unthread the entire telescope on my v1 to change out the batteries is such a PITA, and I actually end up using other mods b/c of it (yeahyeahyeah, I know I'm a little lazy). Anyways, here's a picture of my polished Mini DID on my Sturm Mod v1:

You have to get on a list over on vaporwall, which really is a pain. Your best bet is to just wait it out for Jim's 14500 mod. Hell, I might sell you mine to make room for Jim's :p
Is the Sturm Mod readily available or is that one of the mods you have to get on a list. I hate lists.

Yeah I might have to pull the trigger on one of Jim's mods. He does good work.

Sent from my SCH-R910 using Tapatalk 2

I am glad to know you are OK. I am really saddened to hear you lost everything. I had PM'd you over on another forum and was worried about your wellbeing. I realize you only bought a mod from me, but also noticed where you were from when I mailed it. I hope things get better fast there for you and your family. GodSpeed.

Just had to share:

When I ordered my first DID I actually ordered 2 of them and ended up sending one as a gift to a friend of mine in New Zealand. He loves it and it is his daily vape to take to work etc. (and meanwhile he actually bought a 2nd one from Jim too)
A while ago he got on a list to get a Hellfire mini and a few days ago he finally got it (yes I hate lists too!)
This is a quote from an email I got from him yesterday:

"So far the press fit cap annoys me, I just FEEL the o-ring wearing out every time I push it on"

This is a quote from an email I got from him this morning:

"3rd wick attempt also a failure, I think I'm lucky to have got a DID early on, or I might have given up on genesis's :)"

It just made me smile and look at my DID with even more appreciation!

thanks all!
i needed something to top my paps and uranos, and they both look great with a DiD on top.

how much room is up top to make coils? i've had 2 genesis atomizers, one had no room to work in and actually took me roughly 10 minutes to get kanthal beneath the negative post. and the ihybrid whic has ample room to work with

Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
The mini/Gemini is a bit tight (small parts) but the standard/shortie have plenty of room. The more nimble fingered youths seem to be just fine coil wrapping on the wick in place. I've been either wrapping on the wick and then installing or wrapping the coil on a tool/installing/then twisting in the wick. Many paths lead to the same great vaping experience...

I'm with you cloud. Wrapping on the wick just seems to save my eyesight. :)

My 2nd DID is on it's way since today, should arrive on my desk end of next week. My 2nd ProVari should arrive on monday at the desk of a friend of mine in the US. The first one will be ritired after one year everyday use as a nice christmas present for my mom. :)

Lets see if the wick/coil is easier to setup on the DID than on my Gemini. It's geting hard for my 45 year old eyes to setup a coil, but it's just practice ;)
