i have young hands, but i'm not very nimble or steady, and i have rather bad vision
The DID20 will probably be easier for the first timers, due to larger area to work in.
Purchasing a jewelers lighted visor was a lifesaver for me.
Also a volt meter, to know if it's working correctly and what the ohms are before putting it on my pv, is a lifesaver.
There are many ways to go about wrapping the coil onto the wick. Try them all! Shoot, the other night I couldn't for the life of me wrap like I usually do, and had to try another way. The new to me way was easy peasy that night. (wrap the coil onto the wick before inserting into hole. Tie onto the Center post first, then screw down the negative screw last). Thanks CloudWizard for that method! I've tried it before, and couldn't do it, and this time, it was the ONLY way to do it. Every day we utilize different dexterity or not so dexterious skills and knowing all the various methods to battle our selves is half the battle! You'll be fine.
That is too funny because I ran into the exact opposite yesterday. I could not get a coil wrapped around the wick with out a short to save my life so I tried doing it the other way and anchoring down the negative post and wrapping the coil around the wick while it was already in the hole and that worked great, perfectly even lighted coils and 1.4 ohm atomizer ready for vaping:

Trick is to have a bunch of tools in the toolbox. Depending on planetary alignment and the phase of the moon (or maybe how many beers...) different methods seem better than others some days.

Uma. Laugh all you want. I've had all my genesis attys blow out one way or another today. Got home, poured me some chocolate wine, recoiled everything on the same wicks in about an hour.
WINE DAMMIT!
I'll drink to that!
and I was the opposite! I thought you all was caraizee. ... but I'll keep my mouth shut on that, you won't hear that from me. nope. That's the same method I use. On the wick, connect the battery terminals.
I can't wrap the DID on the wick. I always, ALWAYS, short out. No, I don't know why besides I probably leave one coil a little looser, or whatever.
I'll drink to that!

My did bottom cap is stuck to the top cap of my legacy.... Tips to get them apart? It's really stuck.

Go into your kitchen and find two rubber grippers to help twist them apart. Did you cross thread?
Anyone every try Nextel Ceramic Wick in these? I have 100 feet of it and I am really curious as to how well it will work out in these babies since it does not splinter like silica does.![]()
