I do have a question about DIY. is it more cost effective to buy the 100 mg base versus the 48 mg that I have been buying? I have purposely been buying the 48 mg strength because of the dangers of 100 mg base. Please remember that I just started DIYing.
Yes it is. But a little extra money to be safe. It's all risk management. I paid 79 bucks for 500 mils. Just he careful. Use gloves. I don't have small kids anymore. I keep it in the freezer so my animals cant get to it. I pour it in a 60 mill bottle and then make big batches with big bottles. So spilling is not as likely. But I will start using gloves. I have pretty thick skin.. I'm not suppose to touch the aircraft hydraulic fluid either but it happens. It is suppose to melt your skin. Not saying I haven't been lucky. Key is wash off right away. Be organized and un distracted.

NatGasMan - what's the word on that soon DID22 in your signature? It give me happy feelings.

I think Jim plans on releasing a new DID in the future that will be the same diameter as the Poldiac. Please don't push him on it. He works hard enough already. ;)

Re 100mg/ml nic. I have heard of people immediately cutting it down with PG and/or VG to 50mg/ml (or lower - half is easy) in smaller bottles so they are not working with the full strength when mixing.

Great idea. Although, I bought 1000 ml of the 48 mg. So that will probably last me a while. I only do 12 mg.

Hey guys!! I like to tinker like the rest of you. I tore my Gemini apart to clean things up and decided to try an unoxidized wick. I boiled my 500 mesh for 15 minutes, dried it and rolled it tightly around a large paperclip. After rolling while still on the paperclip I wrapped my 4/3 coil of 28g onto my new wick very snuggly. I then adjusted the coils to space them evenly. After you remove the paperclip you can adjust the wick easily. I attached it to my now clean Gemini and filled it with juice. I then took a small paperclip and inserted through the top hole to the depth of the bottom coil and stretched the wick just where the coils are so none of the coil was not touching the wick. I fired it expecting it not to work but I was wrong. It works just as good as the oxidized wick. Didn't even have to fire any juice onto the wick. The only difference is my wick is gray and not black.

Well, I am vaping on Poldiac/Gemini right now with #500 unoxidized wick and 30g 4/3 coil Peter K method, save time and resource on oxidizing. I like it! and thank you Inspirer;)

I believe it is 0.8 on the DID or 0.6 on the Gemini. The wick hole is much larger on the DID. I don't check ohms anymore since the Poldiac.

Thanks for the answer jhjonson123. Would you guys consider .6 and .8 to be reasonably safe for vaping on a mechanical mod like the Poldiac? I just want to make sure that I am being as safe as possible when vaping. Of course I am using aw imr bats.

I would love to see Jim do some Rhodium plating for contacts and such, that would be so nice not to have to clean the silver all the time. I know its expensive to do, but I would def. pay him for it.

Hell yeah! I'm vaping a 0.8 ohm coil as I type.

You could run 20 amps no problem. That about 80 watts

Most of us are running 2/3 wrap of 30 or 28. And ribbon That's about .7 to .8.
Tony

Here's your limit. Battery 10 amps thats 37 watts we vape at 16-18 watts.

AW IMR 18650 2000mAh LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery
These are the newest version of the AW IMR Safe chemistry LiMN 3.7V rechargeable batteries in an 18650 size. These cells can handle high amperage and are safe to use in series / multi-cell applications. Can be charged with any LiIon battery charger with 4.2V output.

Specifications: (these are direct from the manufacture, any variance on other sites are incorrect)
Nominal Voltage : 3.7V
Capacity : 2000mAh
Lowest Discharge Voltage : 2.50V
Standard Charge : CC/CV (max. charging rate 2A)
Cycle Life : > 500 cycles
Maximum Continuous Discharge Rate : 10A
Operating Discharge Temperature : -10 to 60 Degrees Celsius

Caution:
Do not over-discharge/overcharge
Recharge empty batteries (resting voltage ~3.6V) as soon as possible
Leaving LiIon batteries in discharged state will incur irreversible damage (capacity / cycle loss)
Do not short circuit (will release tremendous current)
Do not dispose of in fire

Attention:
These IMR cells have much lower internal resistance than regular LiIon 3.7V cells and they may end up with a higher ending voltage when charged in certain chargers. Please check the voltage of them right out of the charger to see if they are above 4.20V when fully charged with your charger. Overcharging above 4.25V may shorten life/cycles. Above 4.50V may even pop them or make them leak. DO NOT use the charger if it seems to overcharge IMR cells.
